INTRODUCTION
Congratulations on your purchase of the Marmitek MegaView20. The
MegaView20 is a programmable modulator which converts audio- and
video signals of for instance your DVD-player, satellite receiver, VCR, surveil-
lance camera, decoder, set top box or PC and adds them as an extra TV

channel on your antenna cable. Then you can watch this signal as a kind of
internal TV-channel everywhere in your home assumed there is an antenna
connection.
The Marmitek products are manufactured with the utmost precision and are
of high quality. Please read this manual first and follow the instructions so
you can enjoy the possibilities of this product optimally.
1. APPLICATION AND OPERATION MEGAVIEW20
The antenna cable is, as you could say, looped into the modulator. The
incoming antenna signal is connected to the antenna connection, besides
that you can connect an A/V device of your choice to the input on the
MegaView20. The outgoing antenna signal then carries both the standard
antenna signal and the added Audio/Video-signal (of for instance a DVD-
player or AV-camera). On every TV connected to this antenna system after
the modulator (‘To TV / RF OUT’ of your MegaView20) the added
Audio/Video-signal can be watched on the selected channel. You do not
need to make any changes to the rest of your antenna network.
The modulator itself has no influence on the strength of the signal. The
maximum length of the cables to be used is determined by the present
cable network in your home. If you want to connect multiple TV sets or
want to use a longer cable, we advice you to use an amplifier/splitter. Your
antenna material supplier can advice you in this.

3. CONNECTING THE DEVICE TO THE MEGAVIEW20 MOD-
ULATOR
Switch off all devices before you start connecting. Then connect the device
you want to connect (for instance the DVD-player or AV-camera) to the
MegaView20. You can connect the device with a SCART cable or a cinch
cable. Use one of the two possibilities mentioned below.
Connecting an A/V appliance via SCART (1)
You can use the ‘SCART connection’ on the modulator to add the video-
and audio signal desired to the antenna signal. You can use a SCART cable
(not included) and you connect this to the ‘SCART IN’ of the MegaView20.
Tip: See chapter 6 Extra options for the possibility to connect
multiple devices
Connecting an A/V appliance via cinch cable (2)
Any so called composite audio- and video signal can be connected to the
modulator. For this you can use a cinch cable (not included). Make sure the
colours of the plugs and the sockets are corresponding. That means red to
red, white to white and yellow to yellow.

A/V appliance via SCART to TV (3)
The ‘SCART OUT’ connection on your MegaView20 offers you the possibili-
ty to connect not only the signal of your A/V devices to the antenna signal,
but to also loop it to a TV set via SCART (for instance for TV sets that are
not connected to your antenna network).
Attention: This connection only transfers the A/V signal of the con-
nected device back to the TV set and not the other TV channels.
4. CONNECTING THE ANTENNA SIGNAL TO THE
MEGAVIEW20 MODULATOR
Follow the description below to connect the antenna cable.
Connecting an antenna cable (4)
Connect the existing antenna cable to the ‘ANT/RF IN’ connector of the
MegaView20. Depending on the current situation you may need to discon-
nect some of the cables before you can connect the antenna.
Connecting an antenna cable to TV (5)
Connect the ‘To TV/ RF OUT’ of the MegaView20 to the antenna port of
the television set (if necessary with the use of included antenna cable).
If you want to watch this signal at multiple places, you connect a splitter
between the MegaView20 and the TV (your supplier of antenna materials
can advice you in this). On every television connected to the antenna sys-
tem after the modulator the added audio/video signal can be watched on
the selected channel (see display).

Tips:
• Make sure the connectors are fitted properly to the coax cable.
• Use high frequency shielded connectors to prevent radiation and
interference.
• Use only broadband amplifiers and splitters with a range of 5-
1000 MHz.
5. SELECTING THE CHANNEL
The added Audio/Video-signal (of for instance a DVD-player or AV-camera)
is converted into a normal TV-channel.
With the MegaView20 you can actually choose every free channel. It is
important to choose a free channel, which is not yet in use by an existing
TV-channel. Which channels are free depends on the incoming antenna sig-
nal. For this, consult the channel chart provided by your cable company, or
if you have your own antenna, the channel overview in your TV-guide.
1. Connect the power adapter to the modulator and plug this in the sock-
et. Turn on the modulator by switching the ON/OFF switch to ON.
2. Take your channel chart and look for two free adjacent channels. Then
you choose the higher of these two channels. Example: when channel
37 and 38 are free, you should choose channel 38. With three free
adjacent channels, you should choose the middle one.
3. Use the CHand the CHkeys on top of the modulator to select the
chosen channel. The illuminated digital display on top of the panel
shows this channel.
4. Now switch on the desired A/V device (DVD, VCR, satellite receiver, PC,
camera, etc.).

Turn on the TV, and find the selected channel. How to do this can be read
in the manual of your TV. If you cannot select channels on your TV set,
but only frequencies, you can look this up in the enclosed table in the
back of this manual. This set channel now shows the connected A/V
device and from now on you can watch this on the channel you selected.

6. Now check if there is no interference on the TV-channels close by. If
there is, you need to find two (or if possible three) other free channels
and set the modulator to that one.
If you have multiple TV sets in your home (connected to the same antenna
network), then you can watch this signal on the other TV sets as well.
However first you need to set the right channel on every TV.
6. EXTRA OPTIONS
Infrared extension
Do you want to operate your DVD-player or satellite tuner in the living
room from your bedroom? Or operate devices in a closed cabinet?
Marmitek infrared extenders make sure that the signal of your remote con-
trol goes right through cabinet doors, walls and floors.
• The VideoControl3 sends the signal of your remote control back to
another room via the existing antenna cable.
• Right through walls and ceilings with your existing remote control? This
is possible with the PowermidXS. The wireless solution for extending
the signal of your remote control!
Connecting multiple devices
• Do you want to connect multiple A/V devices? With the Connect 236
you can connect all of your devices to your MegaView20 with just one
cable, preserving the quality.
• You can also connect a second A/V device using a second
MegaView20. By selecting another TV channel on it you can watch
both devices at different places.
A/V Camera
Do you want a more comfortable and safer feeling in and around your
house? With the MegaCam1 you can keep an eye on your house, garden,
garage and driveway. Connect this to your MegaView20 and you can watch
these images on TV in various rooms in your house.

7. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
No image, no sound
• Check if all cables are connected properly.
• Check if the channel is set correctly.
The MegaView20 picture is interfered and all the other
channels are o.k.
There might be a TV channel too close to the selected MegaView20 chan-
nel. Choose another channel for the MegaView20 (preferably the middle
one of three or if possible five free channels).
Interference with the other channels
Choose another channel, preferably the middle of three free channels in the
band.
Distorted sound
Turn down the volume of the connected device.

EINFÜHRUNG
Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Erwerb des Marmitek MegaView20. Der
MegaView20 ist ein programmierbarer Modulator, der Audio- und
Videosignale Ihres DVD-Players, Satellitenempfängers, Videorekorders,
Dekoder, PC, Ihrer Überwachungskamera, Settop Box umwandelt und als
zusätzlichen Fernsehsender an Ihr Antennenkabel hinzufügt. Daraufhin
können Sie dieses Signal überall dort im Haus, wo sich ein Antennen-
anschluss befindet, als eine Art von internem Fernsehsender nutzen.
Die Produkte Marmiteks werden mit großer Sorgfalt hergestellt und sind
von hoher Qualität. Lesen Sie diese Anleitung bitte sorgfältig durch um
befolgen Sie die Anweisungen, um die Möglichkeiten dieses Produkts opti-
mal nutzen zu können.
1. ANWENDUNGSBEREICH UND BETRIEB DES
MEGAVIEW20
Der Modulator wird sozusagen ins Antennenkabel ‘eingeflochten’. Am
Antenneneingang wird das eingehende Antennensignal angeschlossen,
zudem können Sie ein A/V Gerät Ihrer Wahl an den Eingang des
MegaView20 anschließen. Das ausgehende Antennensignal ist daraufhin
mit dem regulären Antennensignal, wie auch dem hinzugefügten Audio-
/Videosignal (beispielsweise eines DVD-Players oder einer AV-Kamera) verse-
hen. Das hinzugefügte Audio-/Videosignal empfangen Sie jetzt auf allen
Fernsehern, die nach dem Modulator ( ‘To TV / RF OUT’ Ihres
MegaView20) an die Antennenanlage angeschlossen sind, auf dem
eingestellten Sender. Am Rest des Antennennetzes muss nichts verändert
werden.

Der Modulator selbst hat keinen Einfluss auf die Signalstärke. Die maximal
benötigten Kabellängen sind von dem anwesenden Kabelnetzwerk in Ihrem
Haus abhängig. Wenn Sie mehrerer Fernseher anschließen oder größere
Kabellängen verwenden, empfehlen wir einen Trennverstärker. Ihr
Antennenfachgeschäft kann Ihnen hier weiterhelfen.
2. VERPACKUNGSINHALT
Überprüfen Sie während des Auspackens, ob alle Teile und Zubehöre
enthalten sind:

Schalten Sie, bevor Sie beginnen, sämtliche Geräte aus. Schließen Sie nun
das anzuschließende Gerät (z.B. DVD-Player oder AV-Kamera) an den
MegaView20 an. Sie können das Gerät mithilfe eines Scart-Kabels oder
Cinchkabels anschließen. Nutzen Sie dazu eine der zwei nachstehenden
Möglichkeiten.
Anschließen des AV Geräts über SCART (1)
An den Modulator kann der ‘Scartanschluss’ verwendet werden, um das
gewünschte Video- und Audiosignal an das Antennensignal hinzuzufügen.
Dazu schließen Sie ein SCART Kabel (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten) an
den ’SCART IN’ des MegaView20 an.
Tipp: Sehen Sie Kapitel 6: Zusatzoptionen für den Anschluss
mehrerer Geräte.

Anschließen des A/V Geräts über CINCH (2)
An den Modulator kann jedes so genannte Komposite- Videosignal und
Audiosignal angeschlossen werden. Dazu können Sie ein Cinch-Kabel ver-
wenden (nicht im Lieferumfang enthalten). Achten Sie darauf, dass die
Farben der Stecker und der Eingangsbuchsen miteinander korrespondieren.
Also rot zu rot, weiß zu weiß und gelb zu gelb.
AV Gerät über SCART zum TV (3)
Der ‘SCART OUT’ Anschluss des MegaView20 ermöglicht Ihnen, um zusät-
zlich zur Übertragung des Signals Ihres A/V Geräts an das Antennensignal,
dieses Signal auch über SCART (z.B. für nicht an die Antenne
angeschlossene Fernseher) direkt an einen Fernseher weiterzuleiten.
Achtung: Diese Verbindung gibt nur das AV Signal des angeschlosse-
nen Geräts auf dem Fernseher wieder, also nicht die anderen
Fernsehkanäle.

4. ANSCHLUSS DES ANTENNENSIGNALS AN DEN
MEGAVIEW20 MODULATOR
Befolgen Sie dazu nachstehende Schritte.
Antennenkabel anschließen (4)
Schließen Sie das anwesende Antennenkabel an den ‘ANT/RF IN’ Anschluss
des MegaView20 an. Abhängig von der heutigen Situation, müssen Sie
manche Kabel loskoppeln, bevor Sie den Antennenanschluss anbringen
können.
Antennenkabel an den Fernseher anschließen (5)
Schließen Sie den ‘To TV/ RF OUT’ des MegaView20 an den
Antenneneingang des Fernsehers an (gegebenenfalls mithilfe des mit-
gelieferten Antennenkabels).
Wenn Sie dieses Signal an mehreren Orten empfangen möchten, bringen
Sie zwischen dem MegaView20 und dem Fernseher einen Splitter an (Ihr
Antennenfachgeschäft kann Sie hier beraten). Das hinzugefügte Audio-
/Videosignal empfangen Sie jetzt auf allen Fernsehern, die (nach dem
Modulator) an die Antennenanlage angeschlossen sind, auf dem
eingestellten Sender (sehen Sie sich das Display an).
Tipps:
• Achten Sie auf die korrekte Anbringung der Stecker des
Koaxkabels.
• Verwenden Sie hochfrequenzgeschützte Stecker, um
Einstrahlung und Störungen vorzubeugen.
• Verwenden Sie ausschließlich Breitbandverstärker und Splitter
mit einem 5-1000Mhz Frequenzbereich.

5. EINSTELLEN DES SENDERS
Das hinzugefügte Audio-/Videosignal (z.B. eines DVD-Players oder einer AV-
Kamera) wird in einen normalen Fernsehsender umgewandelt.
Mit dem MegaView20 können Sie im Prinzip jeden freien Kanal wählen.
Wichtig ist, einen freien Kanal zu wählen, der noch nicht für einen beste-
henden Fernsehsender genutzt wird. Welche Kanäle frei sind, hängt vom
eingehenden Antennensignal ab. Schauen Sie dazu in die Senderkarte Ihres
Kabelnetzbetreibers oder, wenn Sie eine eigene Antenne haben, in die
Senderübersicht in Ihrer Fernsehzeitschrift.
1. Schließen Sie den Speisungsadapter an den Modulator an und
verbinden Sie diesen mit der Steckdose. Schalten Sie den Modulator
mit dem ON/OFF Schalter auf ON.
2. Ziehen Sie die Senderkarte zurate und suchen Sie zwei nebeneinander
liegende, freie Kanäle. Wählen Sie nun von den zweien den höchst-
gelegenen Kanal. Beispiel: wenn Kanal 37 und 38 frei sind, so wählen
Sie Kanal 38. Nehmen Sie bei drei nebeneinander stehenden, freien
Kanälen, den mittleren.
3. Verwenden Sie die sich oben am Modulator befindenden CHund
CHTasten, um den gewünschten Kanal einzustellen. Das
beleuchtete, digitale Display an der Oberseite der Einheit, gibt den von
Ihnen gewählten Kanal wieder.
4. Schalten Sie nun das gewünschte A/V Gerät ein (DVD, Videorekorder,
Satellitenempfänger, PC, Kamera usw.).
5. Schalten Sie den Fernseher ein und suchen Sie den von Ihnen
eingestellten Kanal. Wie das vor sich geht, finden Sie in der
Bedienungsanleitung Ihres Fernsehers. Sollten Sie an Ihrem Fernseher
keine Kanalnummer einstellen können, sondern nur eine
Kanalfrequenz, so können Sie diese in der dazugehörigen Übersicht,
am Ende dieser Gebrauchsanleitung, nachschlagen. Auf dem eingestell-
ten Kanal wird nun das angeschlossene A/V Gerät wiedergegeben und
ist fortan auf dem von Ihnen eingestellten Kanal zu sehen.

6. Überprüfen Sie nun, ob bei benachbarten Fernsehkanälen keine Störung
auftritt. Ist dies der Fall, so müssen Sie zwei (oder möglicherweise drei)
andere, freie Kanäle suchen und den Modulator auf diese einstellen.
Wenn Sie mehrere Fernseher besitzen, die über dasselbe Antennennetz laufen,
so können Sie dieses Signal auch auf diesen Fernsehern empfangen. Dazu
müssen Sie jedoch zunächst auf jeden Fernseher den richtigen Kanal einstellen.
6. ZUSATZOPTIONEN
Infrarot-Verlängerung
Sie möchten im Schlafzimmer den DVD-Player oder Sattelitenempfänger im
Wohnzimmer bedienen? Oder sich in einem verschlossenen Schrank befind-
ende Geräte bedienen? Marmitek Infrarotverlängerungen bewirken, dass Ihre
Fernbedienung durch Schranktüren, Wände und Decken hindurch funktioniert.
• Der VideoControl3 sendet das Signal Ihrer eigenen Fernbedienung über
das anwesende Antennenkabel zurück in ein anderes Zimmer.
• Das Signal Ihrer eigenen Fernbedienung durch Wände und Decken hin-
durch? Die PowermidXS macht’s möglich. Die drahtlose Lösung zur
Verlängerung Ihres Fernbedienungssignals!
Mehrere Geräte anschließen
• Sie möchten mehrere A/V Geräte anschließen? Mit dem Connect 236
schließen Sie mit nur einem Kabel sämtliche Geräte an Ihren
MegaView20 an, ohne jeglichen Qualitätsverlust.
• Sie können zudem ein zweites A/V Gerät mithilfe eines zweiten
MegaView20 anschließen. Nachdem Sie diesen zweiten MegaVieuw20
einem anderen Kanal zugewiesen haben, können Sie das Signal der
beiden AV-Geräte an verschiedenen Orten empfangen.
A/V Kamera
Sie möchten sich ein sicheres und komfortables Zuhause schaffen? Mit der
MegaCam1 behalten Sie Ihre Wohnung, Garage, Auffahrt und Ihren Garten
jederzeit im Auge. Schließen Sie die Kamera an Ihren MegaView20 an und
Sie können die Überwachungsbilder an verschiedenen Orten im Haus auf
Ihrem Fernseher betrachten.

7. HÄUGIG GESTELLTE FRAGEN
Kein Bild, kein Ton
• Überprüfen Sie, ob alle Kabel richtig angeschlossen sind.
• Prüfen Sie, ob der Kanal richtig eingestellt ist.
Der MegaView20 Fernsehsender stört, alle anderen
Fernsehsender sind jedoch in Ordnung
Ein Fernsehkanal befindet sich zu nahe des zum MegaView20 eingestellten
Kanals. Wählen Sie für den MegaView20 einen anderen Kanal
(vorzugsweise den mittleren von 3, oder wenn möglich, von 5 freien
Kanälen).
Interferenz von anderen Kanälen
Wählen Sie einen anderen Kanal, vorzugsweise den mittleren von 3 leeren
Kanälen im Band.
Verzerrter Ton
Stellen Sie das Volumen des angeschlossenen Geräts zurück.
