If you require instructions how to assemble the fence, please refer to MG747
1. Decide which side the Swing Gate will open (left or right). The Gate hinge holts and
locking pin will have to be positioned accordingly.
2. Starting with one block, align the V28 Gate Post Socket End over the pre-positioned
concrete block holes. Remember which side the Gate Barrier will open and close.
3. Fit one M24 x 300 with spacer (see above render) in the first hole then add washer and nut
on the other side.
4. Repeat Step 2 in second hole below.
5. Repeat Step 3 and 4 on the other block with the pre-assembled Gate Barrier and the Gate
Post Hinge End.
6. Tighten all bolts when the post is in correct and stable position on ground.
7. Carry out a final check on all posts, bolts, nuts, gates, fences and blocks where applicable.
Note: The blocks must be installed by an installer certified by the Highways England if being
deployed on motorways. The fence/gate must be installed by experienced and qualified installers
in accordance with sector scheme 2B or 21. The installers must receive regular training on health
and safety, best practice and other issues pertaining to the different aspects of the work involved.
4 Maintenance
Carry daily checks on the complete barrier system including blocks, fences (if present), gate and
security fixings. Check that all fixings are tightened and secured.
Marwood Group always recommends that a site survey and a full risk assessment must be carried out
including loading and ground conditions before using barrier system. It is the end user’s responsibility
to make sure the system is suitable for its intended use
The gate barrier system must never be modified
