not lean with your face, hair, hands directly above the grill! Do not blow with your
mouth into fire – danger of choking with smoke! During the use always wear
protective gloves!
4. As fuel for grilling dishes, please solely use charcoal or charcoal briquettes. Do not fill
excessively the barbecue bowl with fuel before lighting it and pay constant attention in
order not to overfill the furnace or the ash box with ash during use – max. amount of
fuel is 1/3 of the bowl capacity.
5. ATTENTION! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or re-lighting! Only use firelighters
complying to EN 1860-3!
6. When using the grill for the first time, it should stay heated and the fuel kept glowing
hot for at least 30 minutes before food is placed on the grilling grate.
7. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash!
8. The maximum weight of food on the grilling grate is 1.0 kg. The food getting grilled

and wrenches (not included). After
finishing the assembly, please make sure whether all screws and nuts are properly
tightened! After the first use it is recommended to verify again and potentially re-tighten
mounting components.
ATTENTION: During assembly, be careful and do not use excessive force, as cast iron
is a brittle material prone to cracks!
The assembly sequence:
1. Fasten the latch (F) together with the bolt frame (E) to the lower body (C) with bolts and
nuts.

7. Place the food rack (I) with the previously mounted holders (G) horizontally in the
hangers (H) and ensure that the fixing is stable.
III. Use
ATTENTION! Before using the barbecue, get acquainted with the Safety
Instructions. Special care must be taken when using the barbecue! Using
inflammable substances not intended for grilling can lead to burns, start a fire, cause
food contamination or destroy metal surfaces!
Before grilling make sure whether the grate and the bowl are clean and do not require
cleaning and whether the device is complete, stable and shows no signs of: mechanical
damages or of the grate being burnt through. Position the barbecue in compliance with
the requirements contained in the safety instructions. Take out the food grate. Put a single
layer of charcoal or wood briquettes on the coal grate in the amount specified in the
safety instructions and then shape it into a pyramid so that the fuel has no contact with
the barbecue sides. Putting in too much fuel over the amount listed in the safety
instructions can lead to discoloration of protective coatings, burning through of the grate
or bowl, faster wear of the device or starting a fire!
This barbecue model is equipped with an air vent (on the lid), which must be completely
opened before lighting fuel. Closing the air vent limits the amount of air accessing the
fuel, thus lowering the grilling temperature.
Lighting the barbecue can be speeded up using specialized lighters or chimney starters. It
should be checked whether the lighter is intended for use with the barbecue and it should
be applied in compliance with the manufacturer’s instructions; do not use lighters with the
hot barbecue, since it creates the fire hazard or the risk of food contamination.
Light the fire from the side from which the wind is blowing, waiting with grilling food till
the flames die down and the coal gets covered with a layer of grey ash. Then distribute
the fuel uniformly over the entire surface of the coal grate using an appropriate poker or
tongs.
Carefully place the clean food grate using the protective glove. Do not grab the grate with
unprotected hands in order to avoid burns! Put the food on the grilling grate. It is
recommended to use aluminium foil grilling trays to cook dishes in order to prevent
dripping fat from catching fire.
Useful tips concerning grilling:
Lighting the barbecue can take about 20-30 minutes, therefore it is worth to start lighting the barbecue
sufficiently in advance.
Wind and low temperature lengthen the grilling process.
The more food products on the grate, the longer the grilling.
For the barbecues equipped with a charcoal grate, it is recommended to use briquettes instead of
charcoal so that the fuel does not pour to the bottom of the barbecue bowl.
The food grate can be placed on different heights over the furnace: the higher it is placed, the lower the
temperature the dishes are grilled in.
Directly before laying the dishes on the grate, flavorings can be added to charcoal in order to give food
an exceptional hint of flavor: herbs with woody stems (rosemary, thyme, bay leaf), nut shells previously
soaked in water (of walnuts, hazelnuts or almonds), cherry wood, etc. Do not use coniferous wood
since it gives food tart taste!
While grilling, periodically check the condition of food, turning it over with tongs max. 1-2 times. It is
recommended to use food thermometers to control the degree of roasting.
In order to prevent melting fat from catching fire it is recommended to cut off unnecessary bits of fat
from meat before grilling. If flames appear on the dish, move it to the edge of the grate. Fat burning on
the surface of charcoal can be extinguished with table salt.

4
Always wash your hands before and after touching raw meat, do not use the same accessories and
containers for handling raw and roasted meat.
Grilling larger quantities of meat is easier after incising it. Before starting consumption, please make sure
that the meat is properly roasted! Greasing the dish with a thin layer of edible or olive oil (before putting
it on the grate) makes possible to barbecue it evenly.
IV. Finishing use and storage
When finishing grilling, do not add fuel, close the air vent and, under surveillance, let the
barbecue cool down. After finishing use, always make sure whether the barbecue is cold.
For extinguishing do not use water, only sand (does not concern emergency cases)! Later
remove ash from the bowl making sure that the embers cooled down and shall not cause
fire at the place of storage. Clean and wash the grate. Using sharp tools for cleaning may
damage grill coatings. Hint: the grilling grate can be cleaned with specialized brushes. This
task can be made easier if the grate was greased with edible oil before putting food on it.
Store the barbecue in a clean and non-humid place. Do not excessively burden the
barbecue to avoid damaging the legs! In order to protect the barbecue from dirt, it is
recommended to use a barbecue cover. The barbecue with the burned-through grate
must be put out of use!
