-Surely wire the necessary terminals (ground terminal, etc.)
-Make sure to take off all wires, if operating electric welding near the product.
-Do not force to bend and pull the lead wires, and not use an unnecessary length of wire.
-Certainly tighten up the cover and the lead inlets to prevent dusts and rain drops.
-Do not use the product in a corrosive atmosphere (NH3, SO2, Cl2, etc.).

1. Summery
Air Particle Monitor (hereinafter called “Product”) is the device to measure floating particle (diameter over
0.3µm) in the air using light diffusion feature.
Through analog output according to an amount of floating particles in the air, contact output is on when an
amount of particles exceeds a threshold.
And, mounting the cable communication module, display of measurement and modification of parameter can
be available by using PCs and cable communication.
2. Measurement Principle
This is the sensor to detect the particulate matters (PM) in the air optically and simply.
The laser diode (LD) as a light emitting device and the photo diode as a light receiving device can be used.
Irradiating incident light by the light emitting device in the air to be detected, and the scattering light
according to an amount of floating particles can be detected by the light receiving device.
A signal value of mass concentration ((µg/m3) can be output with calculation by counting PM in the
environment.

5. Mounting
Please avoid mounting and using under the following circumstances not to be caused any short-life and
errors of devices.
- Any place to be caused shaking, shocking and breakdown.
- Any place of surround temperature out of rang 0℃ to +50℃, surround humidity exceeding 80%RH and
under dew condensation.
- Out door
5-1. Coverage of Wi-Fi communication
A guide of Wi-Fi communication distance is within approx. 100m approx. 100m as direct distance in better
prospects without barricade.
# Please do mounting with confirming an available area for Wi-Fi communication. If any barricade
or stepping over rooms and floors, connection will be not available or to be unstable.
5-2. Mounting
Please do mounting Product using holes for mounting (M3 screw holes at 2 positions).
Please refer the recommended mounting directions on Fig. 2

6. Connection
Power supply will be 2 methods of φ5.5 plug jack (option) and leg spring terminal block.
Numbering on the terminal block will be as follows;
# The power supply must be connected to only one of DC jack or terminal block.
# Removing wire: Insert a slotted screwdriver and pull out a wire. Use a blade edge about 3mm.
7. Wi-Fi communication
Measuring data display and modification of parameter on the web browser of Product will be performed by
Wi-Fi communication.
# Communication has 2 modes of “Access point mode: AP” and “Station mode: ST”.
7-1. Access point mode (AP)
This is the one by one mode, one sensor to one PC or one tablet.
# Not available to access more than one terminal to a Product in the same time.
7-2. Station mode (ST)
This is the mode using a wireless LAN (router), measuring display and modifying on Product can be
available on a PC or a tablet connected to the wireless LAN of Product.
# If ST accessing to Product, please access from only one terminal.
In case of accessing from more than one terminal, communication may not work well.
# Communication speed will be significantly changed by a Wi-Fi situation.
In case of slow communication speed, please set Product close to a wireless LAN router.

8. Wi-Fi access start-up
8-1. Setting at the initial access
Please power ON after confirming the Wi-Fi switch【AP】.
[In case of PC]
a. Please access to the network “PFM-AP01-#” from your PC terminal.
(# Displaying last triple digits of the MAC address on the product tag for individual identification)
Input the password “matsushima” to access to the network.
And, displaying a screen to be detected the network. Please surely select “Yes”.
(# If select “No”, unable to access to the network)
[In case of AndroidOS/iOS]
a. Please access to the network “PFM-AP01-#”from your individual terminal (Tablet/Mobile phone).
(# Displaying last triple digits of the MAC address on the product tag for individual identification)
Input the password “matsushima” to access to the network.
Please tap on the notice of restricted network access.
Displaying a pop-up for using, please surely select “Yes”.
(# If select “No”, unable to access to the network)

c. Please input “10.10.10.1”on the address bar of web browser.
Web applications will be displayed on the web browser.
# Terminals to be confirmed and browser will be as follows;
- Windows PC (Windows10):

# It may not work properly except for terminals to be confirmed and browser.
d. After activating the web browser screen, the password login screen will be displayed.
Please input “matsuap” and press the button “OK”.
If wrong inputting, “Authorization Required” is displayed on the screen.
Please input “10.10.10.1” on the address bar of web browser again and re-enter the password.
After corrected the password, Please select “English” on the “Language Setting”.
Display of “Japanese” will be changed to display of “English” on the web applications.
After above, please click on the Network setting.

e. When displaying the Network setting, please input necessary items on Access point mode or Station
mode, and click on the “Apply” button to update.
# If no necessary to modify the IP address of Access point mode, use the initial value.
# Keep the password by individual.
# More than one character for SSID and more than 8 characters for password will be necessary.
# If not found the password, please long-press the reset button on the device.
SSID and password on both of Access point mode and Station mode will be reset, and please do
setting again.
# If modifying the network setting, the Wi-Fi module will be restarted and Wi-Fi access is released
once.
8-2. Method of connection after the initial access start-up
[Access point mode]
If modified SSID and the password of Access point mode and Wi-Fi access was released once,
so please perform Wi-Fi access again according the above.
[Station mode]
In case of using Station mode, please switch on the Wi-Fi mode “SP (Station mode)”.
When Wi-Fi access between the wireless LAN router and Product to be used and the device can be
completed, the status LED will be blue light.
If inputting the specified IP address on the web browser during Wi-Fi access, web applications will be
displayed.

9-2. Screen of Measurement result
This is screen to be displayed the measuring results.
The measuring point of current output and contact point output will be marked (✔).
Also, by color changing on the measuring point, confirming condition of contact point output will be
available.
Contact point output is OFF if blue character. Contact point output is ON if orange character.
(#1): Displaying “class 10,000” even if calculated less than 10,000
(#2): Displaying “4mA” as Mass concentration (0.000 µg/m3), Count (0cnt) and Cleanness
conversion value (class 10,000)

Specify max. range value according to current value 20mA of the selected

(#3) Regardless of specified values, display of measurement result is available up to “9999.999
µg/m3 “.
(#4) Please specify a value of On threshold bigger than a value of Off threshold.
And, if specifying Of threshold = max. range, contact point will never be ON (always OFF).
Please specify On threshold = max. range, if using contact point output as abnormal output.
# Updating of current output is 20 seconds on each mass concentration and the same value of
accumulated time of counting per each counting.
Conversion value of cleaning level will be changed by conversion value or counting like shown
in the above.
9-4. Screen of Logging
This is the screen of setting of logging.
Outputting CSV data of measuring results on the Air particle monitor is available.
Press the “Apply” button to update after modified sampling cycle of logging and target of logging.
Please refer to decide a maximum range and a threshold.

:
Specify a cycle of data sampling.
Initial value: 1 Range of setting 1 to 60min

:
Select the target data on the check box.
# If modifying log setting, please be sure to update before start logging.
# Performing logging by PC (Windows 10) will be recommendable.
# Log data by Windows 10 and AndroidOS will automatically be saved on the OS standard
download folder.
# By iOS setting, the log data may be saved on iCloud Drive.
In this case, uploading on iCloud Drive will be not available during Wi-Fi accessing by AP
mode. Please try to upload on iCloud Drive after cutting Wi-Fi access once.
# The first logging data will be recorded after updated sampling time when the start button is
pressed.
For example, the first logging data will be recorded in one minute later than when the start
button is pressed if a cycle of updating is set as 1[min].
# Log data is saved on the connected Wi-Fi terminal.
So, logging is not available if shutting the web browser during logging, disconnecting, sleep
mode and screen lock on the OS, and background action (AndroidOS/iOS).
If performing logging long time, please keep Wi-Fi access and specify on the OS not to be
sleep mode, locking and background action.
# Log data can be recorded for 1 minute per each sampling and for approx. 40 days according to
all log data.
When the log data is recorded to the upper limit, no more will be recorded.
# The cycle of sampling on logging is not related with updating of current output.
# If no log data due to a bad situation of network, “***” is recorded on the data.

9-5. Screen of Network setting
This is the screen of Wi-Fi access.
On the selected Wi-Fi communication mode, a color of character is changed.
Press the “Apply” button to update after modifying the setting.
# If using ST, please input after confirmation by your network authority.
(#1): Please select Valid on DHCP by Access point mode if no need.
(#2): Use Station mode if having internal LAN.
# If modifying the network setting, Wi-Fi module will be restarted and Wi-Fi access is released once.

9-6. Screen of Output setting
This is the screen to perform mock output testing of current output and contact point output.
And, this is the screen to specify actions of contact point output and current output under trouble on
Product.
“Now testing” is displayed on the output setting tab in the left of Fig. 16 when testing.

on (D). The output testing will be continued if not press the End button.

10. Troubleshooting
When the following phenomena occurred, please confirm items corresponding to the phenomena before
judgement of breakdown.
