Instructions
This ma ual is the I stallatio & Service Ma ual for the various compo e ts of the carrier
system ma ufactured by MAVIG. The separate ma ual with I structio s for Use
(BND01Gxx; xx are placeholders for the last revisio ) has also to be close to ha d at all
times. These i structio s are valid for the Bracco CT Exprès® I jector carrier system
co sisti g of:
• Ceili g Colum : GD40030CC00200, GD40030CC00400 or GD40030CC00800
• Exte sio Arm, Spri g Arm, I jector Holder, Ca opy: GD40030-BO
The i structio s for use are a i tegral part of the system/device a d must therefore be
kept close to ha d at all times for ease of refere ce to importa t i formatio a d safety
otes.
Do ot pass the system/device o to third parties without the valid i structio s for use.
Check the ide tity a d versio umber of the system/equipme t to e sure that a up-to-
date a d valid set of user i structio s has bee issued with the system/device.
2. Warranty
MAVIG guara tees the safety a d reliability of the system/device solely o the followi g
basis:
• The system/device is used solely for its i te ded purpose a d its operatio complies
with the i formatio provided i this I stallatio & Service Ma ual (BND01Oxx; xx
are placeholders for the last revisio ) a d the I structio s for Use (BND01Gxx; xx
are placeholders for the last revisio ).
• O ly origi al authorized replaceme t parts or accessories as specified a d approved
by MAVIG are to be used. The use of u authorized parts e tails u k ow risks a d
must be avoided at all times.
• No structural cha ges are to be made to the device. U authorized cha ges or
modificatio s to the system/device are prohibited for safety reaso s.

4. Safety Instructions
Qualified tech icia s who are specifically trai ed to perform this work must carry out all

Every effort must be made to e sure that the electricity power supply
to the e tire system is disco ected whe assembli g a d i stalli g the
system a d/or its associated compo e ts. Danger of death!
NOTE: The IEC 60601-1:2005+AMD1:2012 certificatio applies to the o -
electrified system. The system must therefore be re-certified by a
appropriately trai ed tech icia after the i stallatio of mo itors, wiri g,
etc.
MAVIG is ot respo sible for u authorized or i correct ha dli g of or cha ges to the
system. Modificatio s to the system require writte approval from MAVIG as improper
modificatio s could compromise its correct operatio , safety or reliability.
A y cha ges to the system i validate the CE certificatio displayed by MAVIG.
Because of this, the operator must reissue approval i accorda ce with the releva t
statutory regulatio s.

cause serious damage to the system.

Additional installation considerations according IEC 60601-1:2005+AMD1:2012:

evaluatio (clause 5.7)
• The power i put measureme ts must be co ducted duri g the e d-product
evaluatio with all loads supplied a d operated i the least favorable co ditio .
• Applicable leakage curre t tests shall be co ducted duri g the e d-product
evaluatio .
• I the e d-product i stallatio , the equipme t must have mea s to isolate its
circuits electrically from the supply mai s o all poles simulta eously.
• I the e d-product i stallatio , the equipme t shall be fused acc. to clause 8.11.5
• The e d-product i stallatio has to be co form to the EMV specificatio s acc. to
clause 17.

7. Initial Commissioning
O ce the system has bee successfully i stalled i accorda ce with this ma ual, the
followi g must be co sidered duri g use:
• Avoid collisio s with other devices, the walls, or the ceili g.
• Stop usi g the system i the eve t of a collisio , or other damages. Do ot remai
below the system.
These i structio s for use are o ly valid o ce the first commissio i g has bee properly
impleme ted. The system/device must be thoroughly clea ed a d disi fected prior to i itial
use (see I structio s for Use BND01Gxx; xx are placeholders for the last revisio ).

8. Product Specification
8.1. Specified Use
The system is a rotati g a d swiveli g carrier system. Its purpose is carryi g a d
positio i g the CT Exprès® i jector i climate-co trolled rooms i medical facilities.
Furthermore, it ca be used to route power a d data cables.
It is the respo sibility of the operator to e sure the device is safe for use a d to provide
the user with the i structio s for use a d i formatio about the i te ded purpose.

8.2.1. Ca opy
The ca opy covers the electrical co ectio s routed through the carrier system. For this
reaso , o ly qualified tech icia s are authorized to u i stall it.
8.2.2. Ceili g Colum
Differe t ceili g colum le gths compe sate for differe t room heights, so that the system
is always positio ed at worki g height.
The followi g ceili g colum le gths are available:
• 200 mm
• 400 mm
• 800 mm
8.2.3. Exte sio Arm
The exte sio arm ca be rotated through a maximum of 360° at axis A. The comfort
rotatio e d-stop ca be adjusted towards both sides i 15 degree steps to avoid collisio s
with walls or other compo e ts (Sectio 10.14, page 32).
The exte sio arm is equipped with four brake screws. They preve t the exte sio a d
spri g arm from drifti g away. The brake force ca be adjusted (Sectio 10.15, page 33
8.2.4. Spri g Arm
The spri g arm ca be rotated through 360° at axis B with the rotatio e d-stop e gagi g
i its maximally folded positio . It ca be moved up a d dow betwee +45° a d -70°.
The height e d stop ca be adjusted co ti uously betwee 0° a d +45° (Sectio 10.13,
page 31).
The spri g force is bala ci g out the weight of the i jector a d is preset to 18.5 kg. If the
payload varies from that amou t the force eeds to be adjusted.
A frictio brake preve ts a upward moveme t of the spri g arm, whe the i jectio liquid
is depleted. The frictio brake exerts a force of ±1.5 kg.
8.2.5. I jector Colum
The i jector colum provides a tablet to mou t the CT Exprès® I jector safely. For a good
ma ipulatio of the i jector, a ha dle should be i stalled betwee tray a d i jector. Please
co tact Bracco sales withi the affiliate or legal age t i your cou try for more i formatio .
The i jector colum ca be rotated through 360° at axis C with the rotatio e d-stop
e gagi g i its maximally folded positio .
8.2.6. Co ectio Plate
The co ectio plate provides a i terface betwee the cables routed through the carrier
system a d the cables from the cabi et. A strai relief feature is i cluded as well.
8.2.7. Cables
The cables are prei stalled a d routed through the exte sio arm:
• Power Cable 14 AWG with o e WS-002 co ector a d ferrules
• Commu icatio Cable with two 9 Pi D-Sub co ectors

8.3. Service Life
It is of MAVIG’s utmost i terest to satisfy our customers, a d therefore we have carefully
tested a d validated all our products. Co seque tly, besides the warra ty period followi g
your purchase of ew systems, please be advised that i case our products are properly
ha dled a d serviced accordi g to the the respective operatio ma ual, we expect them
to have a lifespa of 8 years as of their purchase. Without co stituti g a y liability, we
stro gly recomme d that i order to co ti ue to use our products after this 8 years’ period
you should have them i spected accordi g to the the valid MAVIG checklist by a
experie ced tech icia at mi imum o a yearly basis. If the product exceeds some wear
limits duri g such i spectio , it will eed to be dismou ted a d replaced. Faili g to proceed
so mea s user takes all respo sibilities i case of failure/i cide t related to the MAVIG
Product.

10.1. Tools required for Assembly
The followi g tools are not included i the scope of delivery:

• Work platform (e.g. ladder) accordi g to the local occupatio al safety regulatio s.
• Level or Digital Protractor
• Cable routi g aid (ideally 400 mm cable tie type Colso )
• Testi g weight of 3.0 kg (e.g. a weighed ca ister of water)

Prior to i stallatio the ceili g must be checked by a structural e gi eer a d the i stallatio
must occur u der the guida ce of the respective co structio supervisio !
The determi atio of the i dividual faste i g eleme ts a d their respective tighte i g
torques for mou ti g o ceili g a d wall is the sole respo sibility of the respective
structural e gi eer.
The screws used to attach the system to the ceili g are ot part of the system!
The maximum pull-out force a d mome tums for the ceili g a chors shall be calculated i
accorda ce with local buildi g codes a d it is part of a structural a alysis do e by the
customer. The ecessary i formatio is provided below (see Figure 10, Table 1, Figure 11).
