Installation
Location
When selecting a position for your fridge freezer, you should make sure the floor is flat and firm, and
the room is well ventilated with an average room temperature of between 12°C and 32°C.
Avoid locating your fridge freezer near a heat source, e.g. cooker, boiler or radiator. Also, avoid direct
sunlight in sun lounges or conservatories. If you are placing your fridge freezer in an outbuilding, such
as a garage, ensure that the fridge freezer is placed above the damp course, otherwise condensation
will occur on the fridge freezer cabinet.
Never place the fridge freezer in a wall recess or into fitted cabinets or furniture. When your fridge
freezer is working, the grille at the back may become hot and the sides warm. To aid the air flow
around the fridge freezer keep ventilation openings, in the appliance enclosure or in the built-in
structure, clear of obstruction. It must also be installed so that there is at least 7cm (2 ¾”) of free
space at the back, sides and above the fridge freezer.
The fridge freezer door can be fitted to open to either the right or the left, depending on its location.
(see instructions on page 5)
Levelling the Fridge Freezer
Once the fridge freezer is sited in its final location, make sure it is level. To do this use the 2 levelling
feet at the front of the fridge freezer. (If the fridge freezer is not level, the doors and magnetic seal
alignments will be affected.)
Cleaning Before Use
Wipe the inside of the fridge freezer with warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe completely dry before
replacing the shelves and baskets.
Before Using Your Fridge Freezer
Check that your power outlet is compatible with the plug supplied with the fridge freezer. If not, see
the section called ELECTRICAL CONNECTION at the back of this booklet.
IMPORTANT: Do not switch the appliance on for 3 hours after installation, in order to allow the
coolant fluid time to settle.
Before placing any food in your fridge freezer, turn the fridge freezer on and wait for 24 hours, to
make sure it is working properly and to allow the fridge freezer to fall to the correct temperature.
4
Using Your Fridge Freezer
Switching on your fridge freezer:
1.
Before connecting the fridge freezer to the mains supply make sure that the Temperature
Control located inside the fridge freezer is set between 3and 4, which is the correct setting for
use in a room of average temperature.
2.
Wait 24 hours before placing food in the cabinet to allow for the fridge freezer to fall to the
correct temperature.
Adjusting the Temperature
The internal temperature of your fridge freezer is controlled by the Temperature Control. There are 7
settings. Position 7 makes the fridge freezer coldest. Position 1 makes it the warmest. To adjust the
temperature, turn the Temperature Control to the preferred setting.
The temperature of the fridge freezer is best maintained around 0C to +5C. Avoid setting the
thermostat too high otherwise this may reduce the temperature to a point where certain fresh foods
may begin to freeze.
Noises Inside the Fridge Freezer
You may notice that your refrigerator makes unusual noises during operation. Most of these are
perfectly normal, but you should be aware of them.
GURGLING, WHOOSHING
These noises are caused by the circulation of the refrigerant liquid in the cooling system. It has
become more pronounced since the introduction of CFC-free gases. This is not a fault and will not
affect the performance of your fridge freezer.
HUMMING, PURRING OR PULSATING
This is the compressor motor working, as it pumps the refrigerant around the system.

Troubleshooting
Fridge Freezer Is Not Working:
1. Check it is plugged in and switched on.
2. Check that the fuse in the plug has not blown.
3. Plug in another appliance, such as a lamp, to see if the socket is working.
4. Check that the temperature control is not set to 0.
Condensation Appears On Outside of Appliance:
1. This may be due to a change in the room temperature.
2. Wipe off any residue of moisture.
Insufficient Refrigeration:
1. Ensure there is not too much food in the fridge blocking the airflow.
2. Make sure the door closes properly.
3. Ensure that the door seals are not damaged.
4. Check that there is sufficient space for ventilation around the fridge freezer.
Fridge Freezer Is Operating Continuously:
1. The ambient temperature around the fridge freezer may be high.
2. Check that the temperature control is not set too high.
3. Check that the door is closed properly and the seals are not broken.
4. Try not to open the door too often.
5. Ensure there is a good airflow within the fridge freezer and there is not too much food in it.
Condensation Inside the Appliance:
1. This may be due to the room temperature being high.
2. Ensure that all foods are covered before storage.
Fridge Freezer Is Noisy:
1. Ensure that the fridge freezer is level.
2. Check that it is not touching the wall.
3. Ensure that there is sufficient space around the back of the fridge freezer.
8
Adjusting the Door
The fridge freezer door can be fitted to open to either the right or the left, depending on its location.
The hinges will be on the right-hand side when it arrives, if you would like to change this to the left-
hand side please follow the instructions below:
(Please note: This is best done before you begin use of the fridge freezer as you may need to lie the
fridge freezer down to remove the lower hinge.)
1. Firstly, remove the top cover by removing the screw covers on the top front corners, and
removing the screws at the front and rear of the fridge freezer. Lift off the top cover and put to
one side along with the top cover deck piece.
2. Remove the upper hinge from the right-hand side.
3. The upper door should then lift off the mid hinge. Always lay the door flat with the cushioned side
upwards to avoid damage to the seals, etc.
4. Remove the mid hinge, which is secured by two screws into the front of the fridge freezer.
5. The lower door can then be lifted off the lower hinge. Place this down flat with the cushioned
side facing upwards.
6. Remove the lower hinge and the adjustable foot from the right-hand side of the fridge freezer.
7. Remove the adjustable foot from the left-hand side of the fridge freezer. Put the lower hinge in
place and replace the adjustable foot. Tighten all screws.
8. Replace the adjustable foot on the left side.
9. Transfer the spacers from the right to the left on the underside of both doors.
10. Place the lower door onto the lower hinge and, keeping the door level, replace the mid hinge on
the left-hand side of the fridge freezer.
11. Place the upper door onto the mid hinge and, keeping the door level, replace the upper hinge.
12. Place the top cover deck piece on the right-hand side. Place the top cover back onto the fridge
freezer and screw into position.
13. Replace the screw covers and put the fridge freezer back into position.

Defrosting
After a period of time, frost will build up in the freezer section. As a temporary measure, this frost
should be scraped away using a plastic scraper. Complete defrosting will become necessary
approximately once per year, or if the frost layer exceeds 5cm (2”), to maintain the efficiency of the
freezer.
This should be carried out if the frost build-up cannot be scraped away, or if it begins to interfere
with the food storage. Choose a time when the stock of frozen food is low and proceed as follows:
1. Take out the frozen food, turn the fridge freezer off at the mains supply and leave the door
open. Ideally, the frozen food should be put into another fridge or freezer. If this is not possible,
wrap the food, firstly in several sheets of newspaper or large towels and then a thick rug or
blanket, and keep it in a cool place.
2. To speed up the defrosting process bowls of hot water can be placed inside the freezer section
to raise the air temperature.
WARNING: Do not use mechanical devices or any other means to accelerate the defrosting
process.
3. When all traces of ice have been removed and defrosting is completed, remove the tray to
empty any water and wipe dry.
4. Clean your fridge freezer as described below, plug in and switch the appliance back on, allowing
it time to fall to the correct temperature before replacing food.
Cleaning
Cleaning Inside the Fridge Freezer
You should clean the fridge freezer internally with warm water using a soft cloth. Wipe the fridge
freezer dry before replacing the food. Plug in and switch on the mains supply.
Cleaning the Drainage Filter
The drainage hole which is located at the back of the fridge section can get blocked and affect the
automatic defrost function. You can unblock it using a cotton bud, pipe cleaner or similar item. Do
not use any metal or sharp objects to unblock the drainage filter.
6
Cleaning the Outside of the Fridge Freezer
Use standard furniture polish to clean the fridge freezer exterior. Make sure that the doors are
closed, to prevent polish getting on the magnetic door seal or inside. The grille of the condenser at
the back of the fridge freezer and the adjacent components can be vacuumed using a soft brush
attachment.
WARNING: Do not use electrical appliances inside the food storage compartments of the appliance,
unless they are of the type recommended by the manufacturer.
Cleaning Tip
Defrost and clean when food stocks are low.
Replacing the Light Bulb
1. Unplug the fridge freezer.
2. Remove the lampshade.
3. Remove the bulb and replace.
4. Replace the lampshade.
5. Plug the fridge freezer back in.
