4. SAFETY MEANS
Help the patient to maintain proper position before doing treatment procedures by lowering the bed
top to the lowest position. Likewise, lower the bed top after the treatment to help the patient to get out
of the bed.
5. PREPARING THE UNIT FOR USE
1. Select the place for the use of the table with a minimum of 80 cm clearance on each side of
the unit.
Figure 3-Recommended positioning of the GALAXY massage table
CAUTION!
When positioning or repositioning the table, pay special attention to ensure that there
are not any objects below the lower frame of the table. Always safeguard against
uncontrolled access of children or animals to the table or its location.
CAUTION!
Unplug the table from the mains socket (electric models) while performing
maintenance, servicing or similar actions under the table.
2. A suitable power supply connection must be available in the vicinity of the table with easy access
in case of emergency (electric models only).
CAUTION!
When connecting the suitable electrical power supply cable, make sure to protect it
from accidental clamping objects between moving parts of the table. The electrical
power supply cable should be laid in such a manner so as to prevent the patient or the
masseur from stumbling over it.
3. After locating the table in its destination place, unpack the unit from protective film and insert the
power cable plug in the suitable mains socket (electric models). The table is ready for operation.

2014-05-19 GALAXY table - Manual En
CAUTION!
Do not use the table in rooms with high relative air humidity (especiallyin rooms meant
for hydro-therapeutictreatment).
6. OPERATING THE TABLE
Prepare a disposable bed cover (such as paper towels, disposable sheets etc.) for each patient
before attempting to use the GALAXY table for treatment procedures, especially when using
lubricants or other auxiliary substances (gels, oils, talcum powder, ointments, creams or lotions). The
patient should wear comfortable underwear and have their body covered for the whole time of
treatment except for those parts that are being massaged. Following this procedure helps to relax
and improve blood circulation prolonging the feeling of warmth in the massaged body parts.
6.1. Levelling the table
After the table has been located in its destination place, it should be levelled. This operation is
necessary to ensure proper working conditions of the unit. After the table has been located in its
destination place, when resting on its wheels, its feet should stay ca. 0.5 cm above the
floor (including its possible unevenness) –see 6.5
6.2. Height adjustment –raising (lowering) of the bed
Height adjustment in electrical GALAXY tables is done by means of a foot-controlled all-around
switch frame located at the bottom of the table. To lift the table, push the frame in the direction of the
head-rest / back-rest (marked as B in fig. 4 below). To lower it, push the frame in the direction of the
leg section (marked as A in the same picture). The table will be lifted or lowered as long as the foot
controller frame is kept in its leftmost or rightmost position. The actuator switches off automatically
when it reaches its minimum or maximum position.
In hydraulic models the hi-lo height adjustment is done via a foot-operated pedal in the lower frame.
Push the pedal down until the table reaches the desired height and lift the pedal to lower the table.

6.3. Adjustment of the adjustable section inclination/declination
In order to change the inclination/declination angle of any adjustable section of the table, pull the
release/lock handle of the gas spring to disengage it (see fig. 3 –item C), set the required position of
the section and release the handle to lock the spring again.
CAUTION!
Maintain proper distance from all moving elements of the table while adjusting the
height of position. Moving elements pose danger by creating pinch points.
6.4. Moving the table
1. GALAXY table with the F4 frame type has a foot lever (see C in fig. 4) which can be set in two
positions:
- WORK (A), with the table resting on its feet, which can be adjusted for levelling (by screwing the
foot in and out –see section 6.1)
- TRANSPORT (B), with the table resting on 4 castors enabling it to be transported

Do not attempt to move the table with a patient on it!
6.7. Access control (electric models only)
The GALAXY tables contain access control feature which blocks the unauthorized operation of the hi-
lo height adjustment.
Removing the key from the socket ❶will cause the LED light ❷to blink (0,7x/sec) and the
table’s actuator is blocked. Put the key❸back in the socket ❷this allows to use the table onal

the tables after each use to ensure proper hygiene level.
7.1. Cleaning the upholstery
1. Clean and maintain the upholstered surfaces in the following way:
- clean regularly with warm water and mild detergent (e.g. soap) solution; use soft cloth or
sponge
- rub the more heavily stained areas with a soft, damp brush
- after cleaning, wipe dry with a soft cloth
- in case the surface has been stained with ball pen ink, lipstick, printing ink etc., remove the
stain immediately by rubbing it with a soft cloth
2. Avoid extensive wetting of the surface of the table.
3. Disinfect the upholstery and other surfaces using the Incidin Foam or similar formula (available at
Meden-Inmed).
4. Never use:
- cleaning paste, wax, sprays
- strong detergents, solvents and cleaning agents containing solvents, cleaning preparations for
natural leather
