A good time to check your blood pressure is first thing in the morning and then again
about 12 hours later. You should avoid caffeine, exercise and smoking for at least 30
minutes and sit comfortably for 5 minutes before checking your blood pressure.
1. Sit upright in a chair with both feet on the floor.
2. Remove tight fitting clothing from your upper arm along with any thick clothing.
3. Pull the cuff onto your bare arm making sure the bottom
of the cuff is directly above the bend of the elbow and the
arm is supported on a flat surface at heart level with the
palm of your hand facing upwards. The air tube should be
running down the inside of your arm.
4. Sit with your back supported, legs uncrossed and feet
flat on the floor. Try to stay relaxed and avoid talking
during the reading.
5. Upon pressing the "START/STOP" button, the
cuff will automatically inflate, tighten around
your arm and then release. Wait for automatic
deflation.
6. The reading will show on the monitor once the
cuff has deflated. The reading will show your
systolic and diastolic pressure values as well as
your pulse rate. If you have the device connected
to our Medicare LifeSense® Application, your
blood pressure result will automatically sync to
the app on your phone. For more information on
our Medicare LifeSense®Application, please
read the app user manual supplied with this
device.
