1. About these operating instructions
Read these operating instructions carefully and comply with the infor-
mation provided in them. This will ensure that your device works reliably
and has a long service life. Always keep these operating instructions
close to the device. Keep these operating instructions in a safe place so
they can be passed on to the new owner if you decide to sell the device.

2. Proper use
The TFT monitor is used to play back video and audio signals
from external devices, such as computers, that have connections
and image resolutions matching the technical specifications of
the TFT monitor given here. Any other use is considered to be
improper.
• The device is only intended for private use and not for indus-
trial/commercial use.
Note that no liability will be accepted if the device is not used for
its intended purpose:
• Do not modify the device without our express agreement and
do not use any accessories that have not been supplied or ap-
proved by us.
• Only use replacement parts or accessories that we have sup-
plied or approved.
• Comply with all the information in these operating instruc-
tions, especially the safety information. Any other use is con-
sidered improper and can cause personal injury or property
damage.
• Do not use the device in potentially explosive atmospheres.
This includes petrol stations, fuel storage areas and are-
as where solvents are processed. This device must also not
be used in areas with particle-laden air (for example flour or
wood dust).
• Do not use the device outdoors.
• Do not expose the device to extreme conditions. Avoid:
– High humidity and wet conditions
– Extremely high and low temperatures
– Direct sunlight
– Naked flames

ments and the other relevant provisions of the following:

However, this device is not equipped with full functionality to minimise con-
sumption according to the Ecodesign Directive. In this product category, this
function is usually defined or dictated by the connected end device (personal
computer).

4. Safety information
4.1. Operating safety
• This device may be used by children over the age of 8 and by
persons with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities or
by those without experience and knowledge, if they are su-
pervised or have been instructed in the safe use of the device
and have understood the dangers that result from it.
• Children must not be allowed to play with the device. Clean-
ing and user maintenance must not be carried out by children
unless they are supervised.
DANGER!
Risk of choking and suffocation!
Packaging film can be swallowed or used improperly,
creating a risk of choking and suffocation.
Keep packaging material such as plastic film or plas-
tic bags away from children.
DANGER!
Risk of injury!
If subjected to excessive pressure, there is a risk of the
display breaking!
Use protective gloves when wrapping up cracked
parts and send them to your Service Centre for prop-
er disposal.
Wash your hands with soap afterwards, as the risk of
chemicals escaping cannot be excluded.
• Do not touch the display screen with fingers or sharp objects
to avoid damage.

4.2. Installation location
• Keep your monitor and all connected devices away from
moisture and avoid dust, heat, direct sunlight and naked
flames (such as candles, for instance). Non-compliance with
these instructions can lead to faults or damage to the moni-
tor.
• This device is not suitable for use at workstations in line with
the regulation for computer workstations S 2.
• Do not use the device outdoors as it could be damaged by
weather such as rain, snow etc.
• Avoid exposing the device to water droplets or spray and do
not place any liquid-filled containers (vases or similar) on or
next to the device or the power pack. Liquids penetrating the
device may impair the electrical safety of the product.
• The slots and openings on the monitor are for ventilation pur-
poses. Do not cover these openings (risk of overheating, fire
hazard)!
• Position the cables so that no one can tread on them or trip
over them.
• Make sure that there is enough clearance between the de-
vice and any surrounding furniture or walls. Ensure a mini-
mum clearance of 10 cm around the device for sufficient ven-
tilation.
• Place and operate all the components on a stable, level and
vibration-free surface in order to prevent the monitor from
falling.

4.3. Repairs
• Contact customer services if:
– the mains cable is burnt or damaged
– liquid has penetrated the monitor
– the monitor is not operating correctly
– the monitor has fallen or the housing is damaged.
• Repairs to your monitor should only be carried out by quali-
fied specialists.
• If a repair must be carried out, please contact only our author-
ised service partners.
4.4. Environmental conditions
• Only use the device in accordance with the environmental
conditions specified in the technical data.
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
Major changes in temperature or fluctuations in humid-
ity can cause moisture to build up within the monitor
due to condensation – this can cause an electrical short
circuit.
After transporting the monitor, wait until it has
reached ambient temperature before switching it on.

4.5. Power supply
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
Even when the device is switched off, some compo-
nents are live.
In order to disconnect the power to your monitor or
to completely isolate the device from voltage sourc-
es remove the mains plug from the socket.
• Operate the monitor only from a 100 to 240 V~ 50 to 60 Hz
earthed power socket that is close by and easy to access.
• To disconnect the power supply from your monitor, pull the
plug from the socket.
DANGER!
Risk of electric shock!
The monitor contains live parts. They pose a risk of elec-
tric shock or fire if an unintentional short circuit occurs.
Never open the monitor housing and do not push
objects inside the monitor through the slots and
openings.
• Do not place any objects on the cables as they may be dam-
aged.
• Keep the device at a distance of at least one metre from
sources of high-frequency or magnetic interference (televi-
sions, speakers, mobile telephones, etc.) to avoid malfunc-
tions and data loss.

4.6. Mains adapter
• Use only the mains adapter supplied.
• If the housing of the mains adapter or the power cable is
damaged, the mains adapter must be disposed of and re-
placed with a new mains adapter of the same type.
• The mains adapter may only be used in dry rooms.

7. Getting started
7.1. Before connecting the monitor
It is possible that your existing monitor supports a physical resolution that is not
supported by your new monitor. In this case, the image on your new monitor may
not appear correctly once it has been connected.
To prevent this, select a physical resolution that is supported by both monitors
and, if necessary, set this physical resolution in your operating system before
connecting the new monitor.
A table listing the physical resolutions supported by this monitor can be found in
section “7.6. Setting the display resolution”on page 19.
7.2. Mounting the stand
Attach the monitor stand as shown in the illustration. Carry out this step before con-
necting the monitor.

7.3. Setup
Avoid glare, reflections and extreme dark-light contrasts to protect your
eyes.
The monitor should never be placed close to windows, because this is where the
workspace is illuminated the brightest by daylight. This brightness makes it more
difficult for the eyes to adjust to the darker screen.
Always position the monitor with the line of sight parallel to the window front.
The parallel line of sight must also be maintained with regards to artificial lighting
equipment. In other words, the same criteria and reasoning apply when the work-
space is illuminated with artificial light.
If it is not possible to position the monitor as described, the following measures
may be helpful:
• turn, lower or angle the display screen
• slats or vertical net curtains on the windows
• partition walls or changes to the lighting equipment.
Take regular breaks when working at your monitor, to avoid tension and
fatigue.
Sitting for prolonged periods without changing position can be uncom-
fortable. Correct posture is very important for minimising the risks of
physical injuries or damage.

• General – change position frequently (around every 20 to 30 minutes) and take
regular breaks to avoid fatigue.
• Back – when sitting at your workstation, your back must be supported by your
chair’s backrest, which must be upright or angled slightly back.
• Arms – your arms and elbows should be comfortable and relaxed. Your elbows
should be close to your body. Hold your forearms and hands roughly parallel to
the floor.
• Wrists – when working with the keyboard, mouse or trackball, wrists should be
elongated and bent at an angle of no more than 10°. Take care to ensure that
your wrists do not rest directly on the edge of the table.
• Legs – your thighs should be horizontal or angled slightly downwards. The lower
legs should form an angle of approx. 90° to the thighs. Your feet should rest flat
on the floor. Use a footrest if you need one, but first ensure that your seat height
has been adjusted correctly.
• Head – your head should be upright or bent slightly forward. Do not work with
your head or upper body twisted.
During work, the top edge of the monitor should be at or slightly below eye lev-
el.
The size of the distance between the monitor and the viewer depends on indi-
vidual requirements. Distances between 50 and 60 cm are commonly used.

7.4. Connection
To avoid damage and malfunctions, only connect the connecting cable
when the monitor and computer are switched off.
7.4.1. Connecting the signal cable
Plug the signal cable into one of the connections on the monitor:
–DVI
–HDMI
–DP
Plug the other end into the appropriate connections on the computer.
Only one type of connection can be used at a time.
7.4.2. Connecting the headphones
Plug the cable with a 3.5 mm jack plug into the stereo jack connection .
WARNING!
Risk of hearing damage!
Using headphones/earphones to listen to a device at
high volumes for an extended period can damage your
hearing.
Before pressing play, set the volume to the lowest
setting.
Start playback and increase the volume to a comfort-
able level.

7.4.3. Connecting the power supply
Connect the supplied mains adapter to the connection on the device.
Plug the other end into an easily accessible mains socket. The mains socket must
be close to the monitor and easily accessible (use the same electric circuit as for
the computer).
7.5. Switching on/standby
Press the multifunctional button to switch on the device.
Press the button again to switch the device into standby mode.
This monitor features sensor buttons, that do not contain a mechanical
switch. The button function is triggered by briefly pressing the tactile
dots beneath the button symbol.
7.6. Setting the display resolution
The monitor supports the physical resolutions listed in the table. The aspect ratio of
the display screen is 16:9. You will get an image that is free from distortion by select-
ing the 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution. This is a native 16:9 aspect ratio. Image dis-
tortions or black bars at the end of the picture can occur with all other resolutions.
Set the physical resolution on your computer according to the instructions in
your operating system.

8. Menu
You can change various settings via the screen menu. Operation is via the multi-
functional button on the rear of the device.
Move the multifunctional button to the right to activate the OSD.
Move the button up/down to select options from the menus.
Confirm your selection by moving the button to the right.
NOTICE!
The menu disappears automatically if you do not touch
any button at the monitor within the preset time.
The following explains the main functions or setting options of the OSD.
CONTRAST Setting for the picture contrast.
BRIGHTNESS Setting for the picture brightness.
COLOUR TEMP. To select the color temperature.
OSD
LANGUAGE Select the menu language.
OSD H.POS.
Position of the menu in the picture.
OSD V. POS.
OSD DISPLAY TIME Hides the menu after a set period of time
has expired.
TRANSPARENCY Show or hide the menu background.

MODE Select a pre-configured colour profile.
SIGNAL SOURCE Select the input source.
ASPECT RATIO Select the picture format
DYNAMIC
CONTRAST Switch dynamic contrast on or off.
REDUCE BLUE
LIGHT
Reduces the blue value of the light and
renders it more comfortable and warmer.
OD
Switch overdrive on or off. If this function
is switched on, the reaction time will be
reduced.
DARK
BRIGHTNESS Set the black value of the picture
VOLUME Set the volume of the integrated louds-
peaker.
MPRT
Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT)
can reduce the degree of the perceived
motion blur1
AUTO POWER OFF
If this function is activated, the device au-
tomatically switches to standby mode af-
ter 4 hours of inactivity (no operation of
the device).
RESET Reset the device to the factory settings.
1The refresh rate must be adjusted to ≥100Hz for MPRT 1ms capability, while the Adaptive Sync func-
tion must be turned off.
The MPRT 1ms function improves the response time by quickly switching the backlight. The bright-
ness of the display can be affected.

9. Energy-saving features
This monitor switches to different energy-saving modes, which are specified by
the respective computer/operating system. This complies with the current require-
ments for reducing the energy consumption.
The monitor supports the following types of energy-saving modes:

Depending on the operating system, the monitor remains in energy-saving mode
until you press a button on the keyboard or move the mouse. The monitor requires
about 2 seconds to switch from standby mode to operating mode "On".2
10. Troubleshooting
If problems occur with your monitor, make sure that the monitor has been properly
installed. If the problems persist, then read this section for information about possi-
ble solutions.
10.1. No picture/picture interference
• The mains cable must be firmly seated in the socket and the power switch (if
available) must be switched on.
• The computer must be switched on and the connecting cable must be firmly
seated in the socket.
• The set values of the operating system must be suitable for the monitor. To avoid
distortion, select a resolution of 16:9.
• If the screen saver is activated or the monitor is in standby mode, press any but-
ton on the keyboard or move the mouse.
• Move the devices responsible for the distortion (mobile phones, speakers) away
from your monitor.
10.2. Incorrect colour reproduction; image is too bright/
dark
• Check the colour settings in the display menu or in the computer's operating
system.
