INSTALLATION AND SETUP
1. Learning Microlatch Biometric Fingerprint Wireless Readers –
This receiver is code learning therefore making the addition of extra transmitters an easy
task.
1. If the receiver is being set up for the first time it is advisable to clear the EEPROM
memory. To do this hold down the LEARN/DELETE switch on the PCB. The LED will
light and then extinguish after 4 seconds. The EEPROM is now empty.
2. Press the LEARN/DELETE switch briefly. The LED will flash rapidly.
3. LEARN any BIO-13/BIO-14/BIO-15 readers to the receiver by causing the unit to transmit
either with a known finger (timed operation) or an unknown finger (latching operation).
4. Learn additional transmitters or exit by pressing the LEARN/DELETE switch once. LED
will extinguish. If you forget to exit learn mode (flashing LED) the REC-14 will do so
automatically after 20 seconds of no activity.
2. Setting operation modes on Channel 1 (Relay Output 1)
The first transmitting device learnt to the REC-14 will dictate how relay 1 operates. Additional
devices learnt to the REC-14 will operate the relays as per the first device regardless of
which finger or button is pressed on a transmitter:
Mode 1 – Timed Operation of Relay 1
Learning with known finger (Microlatch fingerprint devices) or Button 1 on Microlatch button
keyfobs.
Mode 2 – Latching Operation of Relay 2
Learning with an unknown finger (Microlatch fingerprint devices) or Button 2 on Microlatch
button keyfobs.
Note - Relays 2, 3 & 4 are all timed outputs. Relay 2 is activated by an unknown finger or
button 2 on a keyfob. Relay 3 is activated by User group 2 from the BIO-13 or button 3 on
a keyfob. Relay 4 is activated by a LOW BATTERY signal from the BIO-13 or button 4 on a
keyfob.
3. Deleting BIO-13
This may be done either by the erase feature on the Microlatch Fingerprint devices (BIO-
13/BIO-14/BIO-15) or any learned transmitters (BIO readers and keyfobs) can be erased
altogether by following step 1 in the LEARN procedure above.
