#85756 VACUUM FORMING MACHINE – STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Unpack the mach ne and place t on
your workbench n the pos t on

two control sw tches on the front of
the mach ne are n the OFF pos t on.
Plug the l ne cord nto a wall outlet.
Note: The heater draws a lot of
current, so try to avo d us ng an
extens on cord that could overheat.
1
Use d agonal cutters or a kn fe to
sn p the cable t e hold ng the frame
parts dur ng sh pment.
2
Rotate the heater all the way to the
left to get t out of the way for the
next few steps.
3
Opt onal – Pour the metal beads nto
the vacuum chamber. The beads act
as a way to support patterns w th
rregular bottoms. If your pattern has
a smooth bottom, you may elect to
sk p th s step.
4
Use your f ngers to spread out the
metal beads evenly n the vacuum
chamber.
5
Place your pattern n the chamber.
6
Use your f ngers to push the metal
beads around the bottom per meter
of your pattern. Th s w ll keep the
plast c from wrapp ng around the
pattern, mak ng t d ff cult to remove
later n the process.
7
Sw ng up the top half of the frame.
It should stay n place.
8
Insert a 5” x 5” sheet of plast c nto
the recess n the bottom frame.
Note: Not for use
ith polycarbonate.
9
Sw ng down the top frame and pull
the latch knob over the tongue to

two frames together and hold the
plast c ready for heat ng and form ng.
10
Push the orange handle down to
latch the metal frame n the UP
pos t on.
11
Turn on the heater.
12
The basic procedure: A pattern is placed in the vacuum chamber. A sheet o thin plastic is suspended above it in a
metal rame. A heater located above the plastic causes it to so ten, at which time the vacuum is turned on and the plastic is
moved downward over the pattern. Vacuum draws the so t plastic around the pattern and makes a copy o the pattern shape.
When the plastic cools, it is removed rom the chamber and excess trimmed away.

the softened plast c onto the pattern.
15
After about 8 seconds (to allow the
plast c to cool), turn off the vacuum.
16

d fferent plast cs; your exper ence w ll
help judge when to do the next step.
13
Unlock the frame and sw ng up the
top half.
18
Remove the plast c sheet from the
vacuum chamber. Watch out for all
the metal beads that may st ck to the
plast c. Pop them out over a large

19
Remove the pattern from the plast c
sheet.
20
