The miniature format Leica III f. MINOX has
faithfully recreated the original on a scale
of 1:2,5 and the result can be seen for it-
self. Even at first glance, this photographic
jewel, set in a fine wooden case, is a little
sensation. But the inner values of the Leica
III f Classic Camera also shine through. It
uses the well-known MINOX 8x11 mm film
and is not only fully-functional, but also
achieves excellent photographic results
using the Minoctar 1:5.6/15mm lens (3 lens
elements in 3 groups). And thanks to the
optional flash unit, you can even take
photos with this miniature camera in poor
light conditions.
In summary: Because a true classic never
dies, the legendary Leica III f will be
brought back to life in the MINOX format.

Original Leica III f

Once upon a time in 1950:
Two fantastic developments conquered the
market. One was the Leica IIIf camera, with
which the global Leitz brand launched one
of the most successful cameras. With sales
of 70,000, this elegant masterpiece beca-
me a classic and made photographic hi-
story not least because of its distinctive
design. The other was the legendary
MINOX miniature camera, in which the in-
ventor Walter Zapp, who is now 95 years
old, combined 375 individual parts into a
sensational unit.
Like nothing else, the MINOX camera
proves that magnificent technology can
work in a minimal amount of space. As an
example of miniaturisation personified, this
masterpiece started its triumphant world-
wide progress at the beginning of 1950
and now it enjoys a status as one of the
most unusual cameras with international
popularity. In the meantime, the MINOX
brand has become a subsidiary of Leica and
this convenient link inspired MINOX to
create an unusual new edition.
