Focusing and zooming
Use with and without glasses
By turning of the focusing-ring (5) the object viewed can be
brought into sharp focus.
The eyepiece, that belongs to the scope of delivery, per-
mits an infinitely variable magnification or demagnification
(zoom).
Caution:
Do not use the spotting scope to look into the sun, this
could lead to eye injuries.
Those who wear glasses must leave the rotating eyecup
on the eyepiece in the original position (as delivered) or,
if necessary, turn the eyecup in clockwise direction until it
noticeably engages. In this setting you can enjoy the entire
field of view without disturbing interference at the edges.

Tips on how to care
Tripod mounting
Soiling impairs the brightness of your MINOX spotting
scope. We therefore recommend always removing finger-
prints, dust and other forms of soiling on the surfaces of
the lens and eyepieces using a soft hair brush or the special
MINOX Lens-Cleaner (Order number 99605).
The fabrication number of the MINOX binocular is located
on its tripod base. It is important that you make a note of
this number for the event of loss.
For shake-free viewing we recommend the use of a tripod,
especially for high-power magnification. For this reason,
the MINOX MD 50 / W is equipped with an especially large
support and a 1/4˝ tripod screw hole for fastening the
tripod.
The tripod is equipped with a security wheel on the right
hand side (6). Loosening the security wheel enables the
binoculars to rotate in eight-steps. If desired this enables
an inside view from the side.

Problem
While viewing, a circular image – without vignetting
– cannot be obtained.
Operational error
(a) The viewers pupil is not at the exit pupil of the
eyepiece.
(b) The position of the eyecup is not set properly for use
with or without glasses.
Solution/Explanation
(a) Correct position of head-, eye-, or spotting scope.
(b) Accomodate: viewers with glasses, please turn the
eyecup in clockwise direction; for viewing without
glasses please turn the eyecup anti-clockwise.
