Administration > Appliances/Servers > Platform Equipment in
Director, select the Voice Switch, click the Switch tab, and select
Enable contact closure for paging.
4. Insert the paging adapter 3.5mm audio plug into the Voice
Switch paging port.
About the Paging Adapter
The Paging Adapter PA-1 provides transformer-coupled line level audio
between a Voice Switch and a paging system. The Paging Adapter mit-
igates 50/60Hz and ground noise found in some paging installations.
The Paging Adapter is compatible with all voice switches with paging
ports.
The Paging Adapter also includes a solid-state, contact closure relay
output. The normally open relay provides optional keying to con-
tact-closure capable paging systems. The contact closure feature is
supported by ST model voice switches.
Installaon Equipment
To install the Paging Adapter, you need the following equipment:
• 1/8-inch (3.1 mm) Slotted screwdriver
Connecng the Paging Adapter
1. Connect audio conductors from the paging adapter
audio out screw terminals to the paging system 600
Ohm audio input page port terminals. Use twisted-
pair audio conductors to minimize electromagnetic
noise pickup.
2. (Optional) Connect the paging adapter contact closure screw
terminals to the paging system contact closure wiring. The
contact closure feature is supported for the following Switches:
• ST1D/ST2D
• ST50A/ST100A/ST100DA
• ST200/ST500
• ST24A/ST48A
