■For safe use
Always observe the following matters to safely use this product.
Before starting
Before using this product, read all of the technical manuals carefully, and correctly use the unit following
the manual. Also read the instruction manual of the sewing machine to be installed.
Application and purpose
This product is designed as a communication device with the Mitsubishi industrial sewing machine.
Do not use this product for other applications or purposes
Working environment
Please use this product in the industrial setting only. And do not use this product in the following type of
environment.
(1) Power voltage
･Where the voltage fluctuation exceeds ±10% of the rated voltage.
･Where the specified power capacity cannot be ensured.
(2) Magnetic noise
･Where strong fields or magnetic fields are generated, such as near a high-output high frequency
oscillating machine or high frequency welder.
(3) Temperature and humidity
･Where the ambient temperature is 35°C or more and 5°C or less.
･Where the unit will be subject to direct sunlight, or outdoors.
･Near sources of heat, such as heating appliances.
･Where the relative humidity is 45% or less, or 85% or more, and where dew may condense.
(4) Atmosphere
･In an atmosphere containing dust or corrosive gases, etc.
･In a flammable gas or explosive environment.
(5) Vibration
･Where the Excessive vibration (2G or more) or many shocks.
■Installation
Please install it correctly according to this manual.
Cable
Lay the connection cables so that excessive force will not be applied during operation. Do not
excessively bend the cables.
Remove
(1) Always turn the power switch OFF of the sewing machine and disconnect the plug from the socket
(power supply line) before removing this product.
(2) Do not pull out the cord when disconnecting the plug. Always hold the plug receptacle when
disconnecting the plug. It may cause cable breakage or poor contact.
■Maintenance, inspection and repairs
(1) Follow this manual when carrying out maintenance or inspections related to this product.
(2) This product must be repaired, serviced and inspected only by a worker that has received special
training.
(3) Use genuine replacement parts for repairs and maintenance.
If you use other than genuine parts will be out of warranty.
■Other safety measures
(1) Never drop this product, or place objects in the clearances.
(2) If any damage is observed in this product, if the unit does not operate correctly, or if the operation is
suspicious, always suspend using. Please replace this product.
(3) The user must not make improvements or changes without instruction from Mitsubishi
(4) Please also read related manuals of the connected devices carefully and correctly use the unit
following the manual.

[2] Precautions for use
1. Do not inspect the control circuit with a tester.
The tester voltage could be applied on the semiconductor parts, and cause damage.
2. Always align the connector shape and direction, and securely insert the connector.
3. Use the machine away from strong noise sources such as high frequency welders.
4. Please never open the case.
Adjust the tightening of the case screws with the torque.
Above the specified torque, the screw may run idly and the case may be damaged.
5. Do not unplug the RS232C cable of the PLK-J-LAN with the power on.
It may cause malfunction and failure.
6. In order to reduce the influence of high frequency noise, attach the ferrite core to the RS232C cable of
PLK-J-LAN.
7. Notes on turning on the power again
Please make sure not to turn on the power supply switch until after the LED on the front panel of the control
box has completely turned off.
*Please note that if power supply is turned on again while LED still turns on, the data in the PLK-J-LAN
may be damaged.
8. If you need to maintain the safety of the system that uses GOT against unauthorized access from external
devices via the network incorporate measures taken by the user.
Also, if you need to keep the system secure against unauthorized access from external devices via the
Internet, please include measures such as firewall.
* Always deliver this manual to the end user.
* Store this manual nearby where it can be referred to when necessary.

[3] Use
This is a communication device that enables network communication for Mitsubishi RIMI Servo
XC-G Series and Mitsubishi Electronic Pattern Stitch Sewing Machine PLK-G Series.
1. What you can do by connecting the PLK-J-LAN.
CC-Link communication connection
-> Communication equipment that makes XC-G and PLK-G series sewing machines
compatible with CC-Link IE Field Basic network.
We learn information such as sewing time from the sewing machine and perform
Ethernet communication with the master station as slave station.
Required network equipment
Equipment of the master station: Mitsubishi Electric PLC (MELSEC iQ-F、iQ-R series)
Equipment for display: PC, Mitsubishi Electric Display etc.
Other equipment: HUB etc.

[8] Install and setting
In order to use PLK-J-LAN, it is necessary to use USB flash drive, install LAN system data,
and set IP address etc.
* When setting only the IP address etc. please put the setting data in the USB flash drive.
(LAN system data is unnecessary.)
What the user needs to prepare
･Please create a folder of "LAN_SYSTEM" in the USB flash drive and enter the LAN system data file.
* For LAN system data, please consult with the dealer.
Please use the latest LAN system data.
･Please create a folder of "MAKER" in the USB flash drive and enter the file “IP.PLK”of the setting data
which set the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway.
* Please prepare the setting data with arbitrary IP address etc set up.
Setting data can be created by dedicated PC application “IPEdit”.
For dedicated PC applications, please contact the dealer.

* For necessary settings such as PLC, refer to the owner's manual of the used equipment.
(1) Installation and setup method
Connect USB to the PLK-J-LAN, including LAN system
data and setup data, and install and configure
automatically when power is turned on.
The front panel LED (red) lights up during installation.
(2) PLK-J-LAN information
The system and setting of PLK-J-LAN can be confirmed from the file of "LAN-UNIT.TXT" in the
USB flash drive. Please confirm after installing and setting LK-J-LAN.
After connecting the USB flash drive to the PLK-J-LAN and turning on the power,
the file of "LAN-UNIT.TXT" is automatically saved in the USB flash drive.

[9] How to use
It is a communication device enabling network communication for XC-G and PLK-G series.
By connecting using PLK-J-LAN, you can collect data of the sewing machine and so on.
XC-G (Initial setting)
1. Connect the wiring before turning on the power.
･Connect the RS232C cable of PLK-J-LAN to the MINI-DIN connector on the front of the XC-G.
･Connect the cable of the operation box (XC-G10 / XC-G500) to the CON B on the front of the
PLK-J-LAN.
･Connect the network equipment to the CON E on the back of the PLK-J-LAN with a LAN cable.
2. Please prepare the LAN system data etc. in the USB flash drive. (Refer to [8] install and setting)
3. Please connect USB flash drive to CON D on the back of PLK-J-LAN.
4. Please turn on the power supply.
Setting of PLK-J-LAN is completed.
5. Set program mode - mode B [UPC = ON] in the operation box.
(Setting of sewing machine is necessary.)
6. Please make necessary settings such as PLC.
(Please refer to the instruction manual of other equipment you use.)
PLK-G (Initial setting)
1. Connect the wiring before turning on the power.
･Connect the RS232C cable of PLK-J-LAN to the MINI - DIN connector on the PLK-G front panel.
･Connect the network equipment to the CON E on the back of the PLK-J-LAN with a LAN cable.
2. Please prepare the LAN system data etc. in the USB flash drive. (Refer to [8] install and setting)
3. Please connect USB flash drive to CON D of PLK-J-LAN.
4. Please turn on the power supply.
Setting of PLK-J-LAN is completed.
5. If you set it to 5 V with CON S (jumper pin) of PLK-G3-CPU, please return it to 12 V.
6. Set PAL to program mode - other [CCEN = ON]. “(*1) Setting of sewing machine is necessary”
7. Please make necessary settings such as PLC.
(Please refer to the instruction manual of other equipment you use.)
(*1) PLK-G only supports system version S100W018 or later of the sewing machine main unit. After
confirming the version of the sewing machine main body, in case of sewing machines of S100W017
or earlier, install the latest system.

[10] Confirmation
1. Before turning the switch on
(1) Are the cable correctly inserted ?
･Cable for connection with sewing machine.
･Cable for connection with HUB.
･Cable for connection with operation box.
2. After turning switch on
(1) Is the front panel power LED (green) on. ?
(2) Is the front panel warning LED (red) on or flickering. ?
(3) Is there an heating, odors or abnormal noise from the motor or control box. ?
･When you turn on the power, a click noise comes from inside the control box.
This noises are not abnormal.
Turn the sewing machine off and contact your dealer
if there is any heating, odors or abnormal noise.

[11] Error indication
When an error occurs, the error display LED (red) on the front panel blinks. Please deal with the
reference below.
