1. SAFETY AND HANDLING
WARNING: Read all safety information below and operating instructions
before using your MODOS one to avoid injury. Failure to follow these safety
instructions could result in fire, electric shock, or other injury or damage to
your MODOS one or other property.
• Read these instructions.
• Keep these instructions.
• Heed all warnings.
• Follow all instructions.
• Do not use your MODOS one near water.
• Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat register
vents, stoves or other devices that produce heat.
• Unplug your MODOS one during lightning storms.
• Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required
when your MODOS one has been damaged in any way, such as when
cables are damaged, liquid has been spilled into your MODOS one, or
it has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or
has been dropped.
Power: Your MODOS one has no on/off switch. To disconnect your MODOS
one from power, unplug the power lead. When connecting or disconnecting
your MODOS one, always hold the plug by its sides. Keep fingers away from
the metal part of the plug.

Location: Do not use your MODOS one outdoors. The MODOS one is an
indoor product. Do not place naked flame sources, such as lighted candles,
on or near your MODOS one. Do not use your MODOS one near water. Do
not expose your MODOS one to dripping or splashing. Do not move your
MODOS one if cables are connected to it.
Jacks and terminals: Never force a connector into a jack. When installing
wires into the terminal blocks on the MODOS one, 3 mm of wire should be
exposed. Press down on the top of the terminal with a screwdriver and push
the wire into the terminal.
Cleaning and care: To clean your MODOS one, use a soft, dry, lint-free
cloth. Avoid getting moisture in openings. Don’t use window cleaners,
household cleaners, aerosol sprays, solvents, alcohol, ammonia or abrasives
to clean your MODOS one.
Handling: Your MODOS one may be damaged by improper storage or
handling. Be careful not to drop your MODOS one when transporting it.
If your MODOS one has a glass face and it gets cracked or damaged,
exercise caution when handling the unit and order a replacement cover.
Operating temperature: Your MODOS one works best in ambient
temperatures between 0° and 35° C (32° and 95° F) and can be stored at
temperatures between -20° and 45° C (-4° and 113° F).
Device information: Information such as the model number, serial number

and electrical rating is located on the mounting plate inside your MODOS
one.
Use with medical-grade equipment: The MODOS one has not been
tested for use as a controller for medical-grade equipment, and as such
should not be used to control monitoring equipment and other sensitive
devices.
Electrical surge protection: To prevent risk of shock and/or damage to
your MODOS one, always use an in-line electrical surge protection device
between your MODOS one and the mains power.

The MODOS one is a sophisticated room management device that connects
and controls all elements in a room.
Your new MODOS one consists of three parts: the front cover, the
electronics, and the wall mounting plate. In the following section we will
show you how to install your MODOS one in your room.

BEFORE YOU START
The following overview of the installation process should be understood
before mounting your MODOS one on the wall.
REMOVING THE COVER
To open the MODOS one, unscrew the securing screw located at the
bottom of the unit. The cover can then be rotated counter-clockwise and
removed to expose the contents.

Step 1: Using a level, align the mounting plate against the wall so that the
two horizontal guide holes are level.

Step 2: Use a pencil to mark the points where the holes will be drilled for the
mounting screws.

Step 3: Remove the mounting plate from the wall and use a 3mm drill bit to
drill the mounting holes, using wall anchors where necessary.

Step 4: Using pan-headed screws, affix the mounting plate to the wall. Do
not use screws with tapered heads, as this can damage the mounting plate.
