OfficeServ 7000 and Samsung Communication Manager (SCM)

Moimstone MWP1100N: Connection to Samsung OS7000 & SCM
Requirements:
Basic Computer Network knowledge
1 or more - Wireless Access Point (WAP)
Name of the SSID for the wireless network that the phone system is connected to.
Wireless “Password key”of this SSID.
What wireless Authentication protocol is being used (this info ONLY really needed, if more than 1
Access Point):
(supported protocols: None, WEP-OPEN, WEP-SHARED, WPA-PSK-TKIP,WPA-PSK-CCMP, WPA2-PSK-
TKIP,
WPA2-PSK-CCMP, WPA-EAP-TKIP, WPA-EAP-CCMP, WPA2-EAP-TKIP, WPA2-EAP-CCMP)
A laptop/PC, configured to be on the same LAN as the wireless network.
Samsung OS7000 or SCM Product with 3rd Party SIP License already applied
and MGI/OAS resources , also configured to be on the same LAN as the WAP
A configured 3rd Party SIP Extension in the OS7000 or SCM system
(User ID, SIP Auth. User Name & SIP Auth. Password)
Instruction Outline:
A. Assemble the handset per instructions enclosed in the box.
B. Power up the handset, by holding down the (red) END button.
C. Place on charger, if needed. (It is suggested, to work with a fully charged handset…)
D. Connect your PC/Laptop to the LAN (either through the Access Point or Ethernet on same LAN as
Access Point)
E. Confirm that the network is functional by pinging the IP Address (VIA Wi-Fi) of the OS7000 MP or SCM
Server from the PC/Laptop
F. Follow Part 1, 2 and 3 to complete handset setup to the Samsung phone system
1. Confirm necessary information for the 3rd Party SIP extension/extensions in the OfficeServ 7000 or
SCM system.
2. Connect to the handset to the wireless network (SSID) using either method Aor Bin Part 2 below.
3. Authenticate the handset using the WEB GUI of the Moimstone MWP1100N.

How to configure SIP extensions is not covered in this document. It is assumed the technician is
certified on either the OfficeServ 7000, the SCM or both.
This part covers what information in these systems is required to successfully register the MWP1100N
wireless handset using the SIP extensions already configured for the appropriate Samsung system.
There are really three things needed to register the handset. Part 4 of this document covers some
optional settings to consider based on the customers Wi-Fi Network
1. SIP extension Information
a. User Name or ID (extension number
b. Authentication Name
c. Authentication Password
2. The SSID of the wireless LAN or Access Point
3. The Domain Name / Host (for the SCM only)

Part 2: Connect the Handset to the Wireless LAN using either method A or B below.
A. Quick Wi-Fi Setup (ONLY to be used, if there is ONLY a single access point)
[This method does not permit “roaming” amongst multiple WAPs]
Otherwise, proceed to next page –if the customer has MULTIPLE WAPs
Press the MENU button, then 7 (to go to settings)
Press 1 (to go to Wi-Fi setting)
Press 2 (search Wi-Fi AP)
Wait for “Scanning”to complete…
Using the Navigation Ring (buttons around the OK button)
move Up (button above OK) or Down (button below OK)
to select the desired SSID/Access Point you want to connect to
then press OK to select it
Enter the wireless Password key (if prompted to do so)
(notice that the * button toggles between lower case, upper case, symbols, numbers)
If the Access Point does not require authentication, just press OK
(Optional: unless you need to change the IP Setting from DHCP to Static IP)
OR
If the Access Point requires authentication, press OK after have entered the Password key
(Optional: unless you need to change the IP Setting from DHCP to something else)
Optional: If you actually need to adjust the IP Setting from DHCP to STATIC;
Press the DOWN key (ONLY, if you have entered a Password key)
Use the LEFT (button to the left of OK) or RIGHT (button to the right of OK)
to select which IP setting (DHCP or STATIC)
then use the UP/DOWN and complete the needed IP Address information
Do not press OK, until all of the Static IP Address fields (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway)
is completed…
If the connection is successful to the Access Point, you will see a message:
“Not registered. Please check the account info.”
This is an indication that you should proceed to Part 3 to enter the handset authentication information.

B. Regular Wi-Fi Setup This method permits “roaming” amongst multiple Access Points
Press the MENU button, then 7 (to go to settings)
Press 1 (to go to Wi-Fi setting)
Press 1 (for Profile)
Press the MENU button then press OK (for Add profile)
Enter a Profile name (such as Office)
[other profiles can be added at a later time, for other locations (such as home)]
Using the Navigation Ring (buttons around the OK button)
move UP (button above OK) or DOWN (button below OK)
Press the DOWN key to enter the SSID of the Access Point
Press the DOWN key to change the wireless Authentication
If WAP requires Authentication,
Use the RIGHT key, to change the wireless Authentication protocol
Then use the UP/DOWN keys to complete the needed wireless authentication credentials
(notice that the * button toggles between lower case, upper case, symbols, numbers)
Then press the OK button (unless you need to assign an Optional static IP address)
Optional: If you need to adjust the IP Setting from DHCP to STATIC;
Press the DOWN key (ONLY, if you have entered a Password key)
Use the LEFT (button to the left of OK) or RIGHT (button to the right of OK)
to select which IP setting (DHCP or STATIC)
then use the UP/DOWN and complete the needed IP Address information
Do not press OK, until all of the Static IP Address fields (IP Address, Subnet Mask, Gateway)
is completed…
Once the Profile is saved and listed on the screen, you will need to select it and press OK, which will then
make it connect.
If the connection is successful to the WAP, you will see a message:
“Not registered. Please check the account info.”
This is an indication that you should proceed to Part 3 to enter the handset authentication information.

Part 3: Configure Handset Authentication Information
You must access the WEB GUI of the MWP1100N handset to configure the handset. But first you will need
the IP address of the handset.
Step 1 Get IP Address of the handset.
On the handset press MENU then dial 8for “System info”, then dial; 3for
Network info. You should see this screen. Make note of the IP Address.
Step 2 Enable WEB access on the handset.
1. To access this hidden menu dial *74123598* then enter the password “9999”then press OK.
2. Now select ‘3 Remote’ press OK.
3. Now select ‘Web’ press OK, then select ‘Setting’ then press OK.
4. Then press Back > Back to return to the idle screen.
Step 3 Access WEB GUI
In your WEB browser type in the IP address of the handset obtained from Step 1 above followed by port
8000. See example below.
When prompted enter the user id: admin then the default password: 9999. In a few seconds you will
see the window in step 4 below.
Step 4a OfficeServ 7000: Enter the User ID, Authentication Name and Password
Select the Call Setup tab then enter
the User ID, Authentication
Password and Authentication Name
of the SIP extension as set up in the
OfficeServ system.
In this example the OfficeServ
extension number was used as both
the User ID and the Authentication
Name.
The password does not show.
Display Name field is optional.

Step 4b SCM: Enter the User ID, Authentication Name, Password and Domain Name
Select the Call Setup tab then enter
the User ID, Authentication Password,
Authentication Name and Domain
Name of the SIP extension as set up in
the SCM system.
In this example the SCM extension
number was used as both the User ID
and the Authentication Name.
The password does not show.
Display Name field is optional
Step 5 Verify Handset information
Select the Home tab to review Software, Network
and Phone information.

Part 4: Other Optional Settings to Consider
Review the following optional settings as they may or may not apply to customer’s Wi-Fi Network and
could affect the operation of the handset.
1. The most important “gotcha” is the Register Expiration timer –which defaults to 60 seconds. This should be
changed to 600 seconds in the Call Setup > Advanced tab to match the OfficeServ settings.
2. If the Wi-Fi network supports call roaming across multiple access points be sure to check the Call
Roaming ‘Enable’ box in Phone Setup > Network tab.

3. Set the Time Zone and enable Daylight Savings Time if applicable, in the Phone Setup > Time tab.
4. Move the g722 CODEC to the top of the list in the Call Setup > Audio tab > Preferred CODEC, to use
HD Audio.
