den, die beiden Schiebeschalter X-FADER
START (17 und 23) nach links in die Position ON
stellen (siehe auch Kap. 6.10).
Zum Starten von an den Buchsen START (42)
angeschlossenen Plattenspielern über den
Crossfader den jeweiligen Eingangswahlschalter
(4 oder 7) in die Position PHONO stellen.
3) Mit dem Crossfader kann nun zwischen den Ka-
nälen 2 und 3 übergeblendet werden:
Wird der Crossfader nach links geschoben, ist
der Kanal CH2 eingeblendet und der Kanal CH3
ausgeblendet.
Wird der Crossfader nach rechts geschoben, ist
der Kanal CH3 eingeblendet und der Kanal CH2
ausgeblendet.
5.4 Eingangssignale mischen
Sollen die Signale der Kanäle CH2 und CH3
gemischt werden, den Crossfader (20) in die Mittel-
position schieben. Die Kanäle CH2 und CH3 sind
dann gleich laut zu hören. Soll ein Kanal leiser als
der andere zu hören sein, den Crossfader entspre-
chend weiter nach links oder rechts schieben.
Zusätzlich kann ein Signal vom Kanal CH1 und/
oder vom Kanal CH4 dazu gemischt werden (z.B.
Durchsagen über ein Mikrofon). Dazu den zugehöri-
gen Fader (14 oder 27) entsprechend weit aufzie-
hen. Bei den Kanälen, die nicht zu hören sein sollen
oder nicht angeschlossen sind, den zugehörigen
Fader ganz nach unten schieben.
5.5 Vorhörfunktion über einen Kopfhörer
Über die Vorhörfunktion ist es möglich, die Ein-
gangskanäle über einen an der Buchse (11) ange-
schlossenen Kopfhörer abzuhören, auch wenn der
jeweilige Kanal ausgeblendet ist. Dadurch kann z.B.
auf einer CD der gewünschte Titel ausgewählt oder
der richtige Zeitpunkt zum Einblenden einer Ton-
quelle abgepaßt werden. Wahlweise ist es auch
möglich, das laufende Musikprogramm des Aus-
gangs MASTER (44) abzuhören.
1) Zum Vorhören eines Eingangskanals die Taste
(21) drücken und den gewünschten Kanal mit
einer der Tasten (15 und 26) anwählen. Die
aktivierten Tasten leuchten, und das VU-Meter
(5) zeigt den Pegel des gewählten Eingangs-
kanals an. Den Regler (9) ganz nach links in die
Position drehen.
2) Mit dem Regler LEVEL (10) die gewünschte
Kopfhörerlautstärke einstellen.
3) Zum Abhören des laufenden Musikprogramms
den Regler (9) ganz nach rechts in die Position
PGM drehen. In den Zwischenstellungen des
Reglers (z.B. Position MIX) ist ein Mischsignal
aus laufendem Musikprogramm und gewähltem
Eingangskanal zuhören.
5.5.1 Split-Funktion
Über den Kopfhörer läßt sich auf dem rechten Kanal
des Kopfhörers das laufende Musikprogramm
abhören und separat auf dem linken Kanal das Pre
Fader-Signal des Eingangskanals, dessen Taste
(15 bzw. 26) gedrückt ist. Dazu die Taste SPLIT (8)
drücken. Außerdem muß die Taste (21) gedrückt
sein. Mit dem Regler (9) lassen sich jetzt beide
Kopfhörerkanäle (Position MIX) oder auch nur ein
Kanal auswählen.
5.6 Abhören des Musikprogramms über
eine Monitoranlage
Das laufende Musikprogramm läßt sich vor dem
Masterregler (19) über eine an den Buchsen
BOOTH (43) angeschlossene Monitoranlage ab-
hören. Den Pegel für die Monitoranlage mit dem
Regler BOOTH (22) einstellen.
6 Bedienung des CD-Spielers
Im folgenden Text wird die Bedienung des Lauf-
werks 1 beschrieben. Die Bedienung des Lauf-
werks 2 ist vollkommen identisch.
6.1 CD abspielen
1) Mit dem Ein-/Ausschalter POWER (58) das
Gerät einschalten. Die Betriebsanzeige (59)
leuchtet. Wenn keine CD eingelegt ist, zeigt das
Display (29) nach kurzer Zeit „nodisc“.
2) Mit der Taste OPEN/CLOSE (30 oder 57) die
CD-Schublade (56) öffnen. Im Display erscheint
„OPEN“.
3) Eine CD mit der Beschriftung nach oben einlegen,
und mit der Taste OPEN/CLOSE die CD-Schub-
lade wieder schließen. Nach kurzer Zeit zeigt das
Display die Titelanzahl (f) und die Gesamt-
spieldauer (g) der CD an. Anschließend wird die
Spieldauer des ersten Titels (g) angegeben.
[Soll nach dem Einlegen der CD sofort der
erste Titel starten, die CD-Schublade mit der
Taste (40) schließen.]
4) Zum Starten mit dem ersten Titel die Taste
(40) drücken (falls die CD-Schublade mit der
Taste OPEN/CLOSE geschlossen wurde). So-
lange die CD abgespielt wird, zeigt das Display
das Symbol (b). Soll mit einem anderen Titel
gestartet werden, zuerst die Taste oder
(37) so oft drücken, bis die gewünschte Titelnum-
mer im Display erscheint. Danach den Titel mit
der Taste starten.
5) Das Abspielen kann jederzeit mit der Taste
unterbrochen werden. Im Display erscheint das
Pausensymbol (a), und dieTaste sowie die
Taste CUE (39) blinken. Zum Weiterlaufen der
CD die Taste noch einmal drücken.
6) Während des Abspielens oder auch bei einge-
schalteter Pause kann mit den Tasten und
(37) ein anderer Titel angewählt werden. Mit
jedem Betätigen der Taste wird ein Titel
weitergesprungen.
Vorsicht! Stellen Sie die Kopfhörerlautstärke
nie sehr hoch ein. Hohe Lautstärken
können auf Dauer das Gehör schä-
digen! Das menschliche Ohr ge-
wöhnt sich an große Lautstärken
und empfindet sie nach einiger Zeit
als nicht mehr so hoch. Darum eine
hohe Lautstärke nach der Ge-
wöhnung nicht weiter erhöhen.
5.3 Crossfading between channels
CH2 and CH3
1) Control the channels CH2 and CH3 to an opti-
mum level (see chapter 5.1).
2) To start also the corresponding player mecha-
nism of the CD player via the crossfader (20), set
the two sliding switches X-FADER START (17
and 23) to the left to position ON (also see chap-
ter 6.10).
To start turntables connected to the jacks START
(42) via the crossfader, set the corresponding in-
put selector switch (4 or 7) to the position PHONO.
3) Crossfading between channels 2 and 3 is now
possible with the crossfader:
If the crossfader is slid to the left, channel CH2 is
faded in and channel CH3 is faded out.
If the crossfader is slid to the right, channel CH3
is faded in and channel CH2 is faded out.
5.4 Mixing the input signals
If the signals of channels CH2 and CH3 are to be
mixed, slide the crossfader (20) to mid-position.
Channels CH2 and CH3 can be heard at the same
volume. If one channel is to be heard at a lower
volume than the other, slide the crossfader further to
the left or to the right correspondingly.
In addition, a signal of channel CH1 and/or of
channel CH4 can be mixed in (e.g. announcements
via a microphone). For this purpose, advance the
corresponding fader (14 or 27) accordingly. For
channels which are not to be heard or which are not
connected, slide the corresponding fader down-
wards to the stop.
5.5 Pre-fader listening facility via
headphones
The pre-fader listening facility allows to monitor the
input channels via stereo headphones connected to
the jack (11), even if the respective channel is faded
out. Thus, it is possible e.g. to select the desired title
on a CD or to match the right moment for fading in
an audio source. Alternatively, it is also possible to
monitor the currently playing music programme
ahead of the output MASTER (44).
1) For pre-fader listening of an input channel, press
the button (21) and select the desired channel
with one of the buttons (15 and 26). The
activated buttons light up and the VU meter (5)
indicates the level of the selected input channel.
Turn the control (9) to the left stop to position .
2) Adjust the desired headphone volume with the
control LEVEL (10).
3) To monitor the currently playing music pro-
gramme, turn the control (9) to the right stop to
position PGM. In the intermediate positions of the
control (e.g. position MIX), a mixed signal of the
currently playing music programme and the se-
lected input channel can be heard.
5.5.1 Split function
The headphones allow to monitor the currently play-
ing music programme on the right channel of the
headphones and the pre-fader signal of the input
channel of which the button (15 or 26) is pressed
separately on the left channel. For this purpose,
press the button SPLIT (8). In addition, the button
(21) must be pressed. Now both headphone
channels (position MIX) or just one channel can be
selected with the control (9).
5.6 Monitoring the music programme via a
monitoring system
It is possible to monitor the currently playing music
programme ahead of the master control (19) via a
monitoring system connected to the jacks BOOTH
(43). Adjust the level for the monitoring system with
the control BOOTH (22).
6 Operating the CD Player
The text below describes the operation of player
mechanism 1. Operation of player mechanism 2 is
identical.
6.1 Playing a CD
1) Switch on the unit with the POWER switch (58).
The power LED (59) lights up. If no CD has been
inserted, the display (29) shows “nodisc” after a
short time.
2) Open the disk tray with the button OPEN/CLOSE
(30 or 57). The display shows “OPEN”.
3) Insert a CD with the lettering facing upwards, and
close the disk tray with the button OPEN/
CLOSE. After a short time, the display shows the
number of titles (f) and the total playing time (g) of
the CD. Then the playing time of the first title (g)
is displayed.
[If the first title is to start as soon as the CD
has been inserted, close the disk tray with the
button (40).]
4) To start the first title, press the button (40) (if
the disk tray was closed with the button
OPEN/CLOSE). As long as the CD is played, the
display shows the symbol (b). If another title is
to be started, first press the button or (37)
so many times until the desired title number is dis-
played. Then start the title with the button .
5) The CD replay can be interrupted at any time with
the button . The display shows the pause
symbol (a), and button as well as button
CUE (39) flash. To continue the CD, press the
button once again.
6) While the CD is playing or also with activated
pause, another title can be selected with the but-
tons and (37). With each actuation of the
button , one title is advanced.
When pressing the button , the unit goes to
the beginning of the currently playing title. With
each further actuation of button , the unit goes
back one more title. To skip several titles, keep
the corresponding button pressed.
Caution! Do not adjust the headphones to a
very high volume. Permanent high
volumes may damage your hearing!
The human ear will get accustomed
to high volumes which do not seem to
be that high after some time. There-
fore, do not further increase a high
volume after getting used to it.
