If your cleaner is not picking up as well as it
should, please check
• Charging
Ensure the batteries are fully charged before first use. A full
charge can take up to 16 hours. (The sweeper is supplied
uncharged).
• Blockages
Ensure the rotating brush is free from debris i.e. cotton/hair
wrapping around the brush bar.
• Emptying
Empty the dust container regularly, this can be rinsed clean and
left to air dry if necessary.
IMPORTANT : Ensure the unit is fully dry before re-inserting into
the machine.

Important safety
instructions
The use of any electrical appliance
requires the following common sense safety
rules.
Primarily there is danger of injury or
death and secondly the danger of damage
to the appliance. These are indicated in the
text by the following two conventions:

addition we offer the following safety
advice.
Product safety
•Never use the appliance to pick up hot
ashes, broken glass or sharp objects.
•To protect against fire, electric shock
and personal injury do not immerse cord,
plug or cleaner in water or other liquid.
•Do not use or keep this product outside
when it is raining.
•Do not store the appliance near hot
ovens or heating appliances.
Children
•Children do not understand the dangers
associated with operating electrical
appliances. Never allow children to use
this appliance.
Personal safety
•Never modify the cleaner in any way.
•Never use in the presence of explosive
liquids or vapours.
•Never pick up inflammable or poisonous
liquids such as petrol, copier toner or
other volatile substances. Never pick up
acids, asbestos or asbestos dust.
•Repairs to electrical appliances are only
to be undertaken by trained personnel.
Unprofessional repairs can be dangerous
for users.
•Use only genuine Morphy Richards spare
parts and accessories.
•This sweeper is intended for domestic
use only. Misuse or use for commercial
or any other purpose will render the
guarantee invalid.
Product disposal
This product contains a sealed nicad
battery. When it reaches the end of its
useful life it must not be disposed of in
normal household waste. The product
must be disposed of at an authorised
recycling plant. Your local authority will
have a centre which accepts such waste
for recycling.
Electrical requirements
Check that the voltage on the rating
plate of your charger unit corresponds
with your house electricity which must
be A.C. (alternating current).
Use only the charger supplied.

Assembly
1Screw one of the tubes into the handle
connection on the floor nozzle. Tighten
by hand. Do not over tighten
2Put the first handle tube into the upright
position
3Screw the next tube into the first.
4Repeat for the third tube.
5Finally screw the loop handle onto the
last tube.
Note: The loop handle is free to rotate.
For use on stairs
1The loop handle may be screwed directly
to the floor head for stair cleaning.

Charging the sweeper
1Plug the charger into the wall socket.
2Connect the charger to the sweeper.
3Switch the wall socket on.
4The charging indicator illuminates green
to indicate charging is in progress.
•If the charging indicator does not
illuminate press the on/off pedal. The
product will only charge if the pedal is in
the off position.
•Keep your floor sweeper connected to
the charger when not in use, in order to
ensure full cleaning capacity.

NOTE: Before initial use, please charge
your floor sweeper overnight (16 hours).
NOTE: Charging should not be carried
out when the ambient temperature is below
0˚C or above +40˚C. The charger will
become warm during use. This is perfectly
normal.
Using
Note: Remove cloth support pad
when using on carpets
1Switch charger off at the wall socket.
2Disconnect the charger from the
floorhead.
3Remove cloth support pad, unless using
sweeper with hard floor cloth.
4Place the sweeper on the surface to be
cleaned and press the on/off pedal with
your foot.
5With one foot placed gently on the rear
of the sweeper pull the handle back to
the desired use position
Brush stall
If the brush is stalled the indicator
illuminates red and the motor stops. To
reset switch off, remove the cause of the
stall, wait 30 seconds then switch back
on.
Cleaning hardwood
and laminate floors
Note: Cloth support pad should be
fitted for use with hard floor
cleaning cloths only.
1Turn the sweeper over to access the
underside.
2Attach cloth support pad.
3Lift open the cleaning cloth clip Insert a
cleaning cloth then press the clip down
to secure it into place.
Note: The cloth may be dampened slightly if
required.
4Turn the product right side up and attach
corners of cleaning cloth by pushing
them into cleaning cloth grippers
5Re-fit dust container
6Use as described previously. The cloth
supplied is disposible. Replacement
cloths can be purchased using the
helpline. Alternatively standard large
floor wipes availabe from most major
supermarkets can be used.

Dust disposal
1Press the on/off pedal to turn the
product off.
2Lift the dust container out of the product.
3Open the flap at the right hand side and
empty contents into a dustbin.
4Close the flap and replace the dust
container back into the floor head.
The dust container can be rinsed in
warm water to clean. Ensure the container
is dried thoroughly before replacing into the
machine.
Storage
1Empty before storage if using the
storage hook.
2Store fully assembled by hanging
sweeper from storage hook.
3Alternatively remove tubes and store
flat.
Cleaning and
maintenance
•Remove dust by using a soft damp cloth
and wipe dry. Do not use scourers or
abrasive cleaners.
Helpline
If you have any difficulty with your
appliance do not hesitate to call us. We are
likely to be more help than the store from
where it was bought.

Your two year
guarantee
It is important to retain the retailers receipt
as proof of purchase. Staple your receipt to
this back cover for future reference.
Please quote the following information if
the product develops a fault. These numbers
can be found on the base of the product.
Model no. Serial no.
All Morphy richards products are
individually tested before leaving the factory.
In the unlikely event of any appliance proving
to be faulty within 28 days of purchase it
should be returned to the place of purchase
for it to be replaced.
If the fault develops after 28 days and
within 24 months of original purchase, you
should contact the Helpline number quoting
Model number and Serial number on the
product, or write to Morphy richards at the
address shown. You may be asked to return
a copy of purchase.
If you suspect a fault, follow the simple
checks detailed below before returning the
appliance or calling the helpline.
•Check the battery is fully charged, this
can take up to 16 hours if the battery is
completely drained.
•Check for blockages.
•Check the plug is firmly in the socket and
the charging light is on.
If for any reason this item is replaced
during the 2 year guarantee period, the
guarantee on the new item will be calculated
from original purchase date. Therefore it is
vital to retain your original till receipt or
invoice to indicate the date of initial
purchase.
To qualify for the 2 year guarantee the
appliance must have been used according to
the manufacturers instructions.
EXCLUSIONS
Morphy richards shall not be liable to
replace or repair the goods under the terms
of the guarantee where:
1The fault has been caused or is
attributable to accidental use, misuse,
negligent use or used contrary to the
manufacturers recommendations or where
the fault has been caused by power
surges or damage caused in transit.
2The appliance has been used on a voltage
supply other than that stamped on the
products.
3Repairs have been attempted by persons
other than our service staff (or authorised
dealer).
4Where the appliance has been used for
hire purposes or non domestic use.
5The guarantee excludes consumable
goods such as cloths
This guarantee does not confer any rights
other than those expressly set out above and
does not cover any claims for consequential
loss or damage. This guarantee is offered as
an additional benefit and does not affect your
statutory rights as a consumer.
•This guarantee is valid in the UK and
Ireland only.

household use only.
Morphy richards has a policy of continuous

to change the specification of its models at
