SYMPTOM(S): Battery will not stay charged while mowing.
ACTION REQUIRED: Order and install one (1) Service Kit 753-08160 per affected mower.This is to be considered a
MANDATORY repair.
PURPOSE: To enhance the battery charging capability on the above listed riding mowers.

NOTE: Always wear eye protection while servicing equipment. Wear hearing protection when appropriate. Always work
in a well ventilated area and follow all safety precautions when dealing with combustible materials.
NOTE: Left (LH) and Right (RH) sides are determined from the operator’s position and facing in the forward direction.

Warranty: Normal warranty terms apply. Indicate Service Advisory MTD-148 and P/N 625-04105 as the original failed
part on the claim. Repair time allowance is 0.15 Hrs. List model and serial number of the unit on the claim.

Pre-Service Preparation:
1. Park mower on a flat, level surface.
2. Turn off the engine, remove the ignition key, set the parking brake to ON.
3. Allow engine and muffler to cool before proceding.
4. Verify that battery is fully charged, then proceed to Service Procedure.
Service Procedure:
1. Raise hood and locate the left and right headlight assemblies located in the grille.
2. Unplug mower wire harness from each headlight assembly. (725-1649 Lamp Socket and 725-0963, Lamp Figure 1)
3. Twist headlight assembly counter-clockwise approximately 1/4 turn, remove and discard headlight assemblies.
4. Align tabs on LED Headlight assembly with mounting holes, twist LED Headlight clockwise until it locks in place.
5. Plug large connector from LED Headlight harness into large connector on mower wire harness.
6. Plug small connector from LED Headlight harness into small connector on mower wire harness.
7. Start engine and verify operation of LED Headlights.
8. Apply label 777I25154 to the left leg of headlight harness as shown in Figure 2.
