How to use these instructions
All of the necessary diagrams can be found on the
first pages of this set of instructions. Within the
descriptions, you will be directed by cross-
references to the appropriate diagrams.
SAFETY REGULATIONS
A) TRAINING
1) Read the instructions carefully. Become
familiar with the controls and the proper
use of the machine. Learn how to stop the
motor quickly.
2) Never allow children or persons unfamiliar
with these instructions to use the machine.
Local laws can restrict the minimum age of
the operator.
3) This equipment is not designed to be used
by people (including children) with limited
physical, sensory or mental capacities or
those with no experience and/or
knowledge unless they are supervised by a
person who is responsible for their safety
or they have received instructions from
such a person in how to use the equipment
safely. Children must always be
supervised in order to ensure that they do
not play with the machine.
4) Never use the machine:
– when people, especially children or
pets are nearby;
– if the operator has taken medicine or
substances that may impair his ability to
react and be attentive.
5) Bear in mind that the operator or user is
responsible for accidents or unexpected
events occurring to other people or their
property.
6) Symbols appearing on your product may
not be removed or covered. The symbols
on the product that are no longer legible
must be replaced immediately.
B) PRELIMINARY OPERATIONS
1) While working, always wear sturdy
footwear and long trousers. Do not operate
the machine when barefoot or wearing
open sandals. Avoid wearing clothing that
is loose fitting or has hanging cords or ties.
2) Thoroughly inspect the entire work area
and remove anything that could be thrown
by the machine or damage the working
roller or motor (stones, branches, wires,
bones, etc.).
3) Before using the machine, always perform
an overall check of its condition, especially
the condition of the rotating parts and the
cutting unit to make sure that they are not
worn or damaged. Replace damaged or
worn parts to preserve balance.
4) Before use check the power and extension
cable for signs of damage or aging.
5) Before switching on the machine, always
check that all screws, nuts, bolts and other
attachments are well secured, and that the
guards and protective guards are in place.
6) Always wear ear protection and safety
goggles during operation.
7) Use the machine only in the recommended
position and only on a firm and level
surface.
8) Do not use the machine on paved or gravel
surfaces that could be injured by the

material being ejected.
C) DURING USE
1) Work only in daylight or good artificial
light.
2) Avoid working in wet grass or when it is
raining. Do not use the machine in poor
weather conditions, especially if there is a
risk of lightning.
3) Avoid unnatural posture and always
maintain balance so you always have a
steady position on the slopes.
4) Never run, always walk; do not let the
machine pull you.
5) Always work transversely on slopes and
never up and down.
6) Be extremely careful when changing
directions on slopes.
7) Never work on overly steep slopes.
8) Be extremely careful when you pull the
machine toward you.
9) Be very careful during working near
ravines, ditches or embankments.
10) Stop the rotating parts if the machine must
be inclined for transport, when moving
over surfaces other than grass and when
the machine is transported from or to the
work area.
11) Never operate the machine with damaged
guards, or without the grass-catcher or
stone-guard.
12) Start up the motor carefully according to
the instructions, keeping feet away from
the rotating parts.
13) Do not incline the machine when starting
the motor, unless necessary for start up.
In this event, do not incline it more than is
absolutely necessary and only lift the part
that is far from the operator. Always
ensure that both hands are in the working
position before lowering the machine
again.
14) Never place your hands and feet near or
under rotating parts.
15) Keep away from the discharge opening.
16) Do not lift or transport the machine when
the motor is running.
17) Stop the machine and remove plug from
the socket. Make sure that all moving
parts have come to a complete stop:
– whenever you leave the machine
unattended;
– before clearing blockages;
– before checking, cleaning or working on
the machine;
– when transporting the machine;
– after striking a foreign object. Inspect
the machine for any damages and
make the necessary repairs before
using it again;
– if the machine begins to vibrate
abnormally.
If the machine begins to vibrate
abnormally, proceed immediately to:
– inspect for damage;
– check for and tighten any loose parts.
– replace or repair any damaged parts at
a specialised centre.
18) Stop the motor:
– whenever you remove or reattach the
grass-catcher;
– before adjusting the cutting height, if
this operation can not be performed
from the driving seat.
19) Do not use the machine if the cord is
damaged or worn. If the cable or
extension lead becomes damaged during
use, disconnect the plug from the supply
immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE
CABLE BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE
SUPPLY.
20) Do not touch the rotating parts until the
machine has been disconnected from the
mains socket and that the rotating parts
are completely still.
21) Keep the electric cable away from rotating
parts. Rotating parts can damage the
cable and cause electric contact with vital
parts.
22) When working, always keep a safe
distance from rotating parts, given by the
length of the handle.
23) WARNING - If something accident occurs
while working, turn off the motor
immediately and move the machine away
to prevent further damage; if an accident
occurs with injuries or third parties are
injured, carry out the first aid measures
most suitable for the situation immediately
and contact the medical authorities for any
necessary health care.
D) MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
1) Keep all nuts and screws tight to be sure
the machine is always in safe working
condition. Routine maintenance is

essential for safety and for maintaining a
high performance level.
2) Check the stone-guard and grass-catcher
frequently for correct function, wear or
deterioration.
3) For safety reasons, never use the machine
when it has worn or damaged parts. Parts
must be replaced and not repaired. Use
original spare parts. Parts that are not of
the same quality can damage the machine
and impair your safety.
4) Wear work gloves for disassembling and
reassembling the blade.
5) During the maintenance and adjustment of
the machine, be careful not to jam your
fingers between moving blades and fixed
parts of the machine.
6) If the machine is stopped for maintenance,
inspection or storage, or for replacing
accessories, disconnect the drive,
disconnect the machine from the power
supply and ensure that all moving parts are
completely stopped. Let the machine cool
down before performing an inspection,
adjusting, etc. Handle the machine
carefully and keep it clean.
7) Allow the machine to cool before storing.
Store the machine out of the reach of
children.
E) ADDITIONAL WARNINGS
1) Power up the machine using a differential
switch (RCD - Residual Current Device)
with a tripping current of max. 30 mA.
2) WARNING: DANGER! Risk of electric
shock! Moisture and electricity are not
compatible:
– never expose electrical equipment to
rain or moisture;
– always handle and connect electric
cables in dry conditions;
– never allow electric sockets or cables to
contact wet areas (puddles or wet
grass);
– the connections between cables and
sockets must always be watertight.
Only use extension leads with intact,
watertight and approved sockets
suitable for outdoor use.
3) The quality of the extension leads must be
no less than H05RN-F or H05VV-F, with a
minimum section of 1.5 mm2and a
recommended maximum length of 25 m.
4) Never use the machine if the power cable
or extension lead are damaged or worn.
5) Never connect a damaged cable to a
mains socket and never touch a damaged
cable that is connected to the mains
socket. Damaged or deteriorated cables
may cause an electric shock.
6) Attach the extension lead to the cable
fastener, before starting the machine. Use
the cable fastener to prevent the cable
from disconnecting accidentally as
indicated in this manual. Make sure it is
connected to the socket without being
forced.
7) Never pull the machine by its power cable
or use the cable to pull the plug. Do not
expose the cable to sources of heat, or let
it come into contact with oil, solvents and
sharp objects.
F) TRANSPORTATION AND HANDLING
1) Whenever the machine is to be handled,
lifted, transported or tilted you must:
– wear sturdy work gloves;
– grasp the machine at the points that
offer a safe grip, taking account of the
weight and its distribution.
– use an appropriate number of people
for the weight of the machine and the
characteristics of the vehicle or the
place where it must be placed or
collected.
2) During transport, fasten the machine
securely with straps or ropes.

Risk of injury!
This electrical equipment creates an
electromagnetic field during its
operation. Such a field can interfere
with active or passive implants under
certain circumstances. To reduce the
risk of serious or lethal injury, we
recommend that persons with implants
consult their physician or implant
m
anufacturer and ask whether they
can use this equipment.

Risks caused by vibrations
CAUTION!
Risk of injury due to vibrations!
Vibrations may, in particular for
persons with circulation problems,
cause damage to blood vessels and/
or nerves.
If you notice any of the following
symptoms, stop working immediately
and consult a doctor. Numbness of
body parts, loss of sense of feeling,
itching, pins and needles, pain,
changes in skin colour.
The vibration values specified in the technical
data represent the main uses of the machine.
The actual existing vibrations during use may
deviate from these as a result of the following
factors:
-Incorrect use of the product;
-Unsuitable tools inserted;
-Unsuitable work protective equipment;
-Insufficient maintenance.
You can reduce the risks considerably by
following the tips below:
-Maintain the machine in accordance with
the instructions in the operating
instructions.
-Avoid working at low temperatures.
-When it is cold, make sure your body
and your hands, in particular, are kept
warm.
-Take regular breaks and move your
hands at the same time to promote
circulation.
Before you begin…
Intended use
When used for its intended purpose, this machine
corresponds to the state of the art, as well as to
the current safety requirements at the time of its
introduction.
This machine was designed and manufactured for
cutting (and collecting) grass in gardens and
grassy areas, in areas in proportion to its cutting
capacity, done by a pedestrian operator.
The presence of attachments or specific devices
can prevent cut grass from being collected or
produce a mulching effect, depositing cut grass on
the ground.
The machine is not suitable for commercial or
industrial use.
Any other type of use is inappropriate. Improper
use, unprofessional interventions on the machine
or the use of components that are not supplied by
the manufacturer, may result in machine damage
and endanger the safety of the operator or
bystanders, and relieves the manufacturer from his
or her legal liability.
What are the meanings of the symbols
used?
Danger notices and information are clearly marked
throughout these instructions for use. The
following symbols are used:

Direct danger to life and risk of injury!
Directly dangerous situation that may lead
to death or severe injuries.
WARNING!

Safety devices:
DANGER!
Direct danger to life and risk of injury!
Never use an appliance if it has damaged
safety devices or if there are no safety
devices fitted.
Switch control lever (1)
The switch control lever is for your safety to stop
the motor and cutter deck in an emergency. Never
attempt to disable its function.
Protective flap (8)
The protective flap is a safety device. The
protective flap prevents injuries from the rotating
working roller or ejected solid objects. The lawn
scarifier may only be operated with the protective
flap installed.

Assembling
Mounting the handle
►Fig. B1
– Locate the lower handle into the holes in the
rear body of the mower and fix them with two
screws.
– Pull on the cable holder onto the upper handle.
– Fit the upper handle to the lower handle using
the attached bolts and knobs.
Cable clips
– Secure the cable to the handle by the cable
clips to prevent damage from using the
machine and handling the grass box.
Collecting bag assembly

– Assemble the lower (1) and upper (2) parts of
the box by use the hooks and groves. Make
sure that the hooks are fully clicked into
positions.
Operation
Check before use!

Do not operate the machine unless you did
not find any faults. If a part has become
defective, make sure to replace it before
you use the machine again.
Check the safe condition of the machine:
– Check it for visual defects.
– Check that all parts of the machine have been
securely fitted.
– Check the protective flap to see if it springs
back to the discharge opening.
Attaching the cuttings bag

– Lift the protective flap and hold.
– Slot the collecting bag into place.
– Ensure that the bag has slotted into place
securely.
Cutting Height Adjustment

The height of cut is adjusted by altering the height
of all the wheels, there are 5 positions to choose
from.
Hold the height adjustment handle, push out to let
the handle fix into the grooves which the height
you need.

Ensure the blade completely stopped and
the appliance disconnected from the mains
before changing the height of cut.
Connecting the product

– Pull the extension cable through the cable grip
and connect it to the terminal on the power
cable.
– Insert the extension cable coupling into the
mains.
Switching On and Off

Danger of injury!
Before starting work, always check the
ground and remove all objects which could
be thrown by the machine
and remove
terrain irregularities (eg moles, etc.).
Switching On

– Position the machine on a level lawn surface.
– Tilt the machine back so that both front wheels
are free and the blade does not touch the
grass.
– Press the operating safety lock (4) and hold
down.
– Pull and keep hold of the switch control lever
(1).
– Release the operating safety lock.
– Wait until the motor has reached its maximum
speed, and put the machine on wheels.
– Guide the machine at an even slow speed
(walking pace) in a straight line wherever
possible.
Note:
Let the appliance to work at its own pace.
Do not overload.

- Always keep the extension cable away
from the machine.
- Never attempt to lock a switch in the on
position.
Switching Off
– Release the ON/OFF switch lever.
