RADIO CONNECTION
Gain Settings to radio microphone (TX)
Note that each radio or transceiver requires a specific signal on the microphone to transmit properly. There is
no pattern or a particular standard in the market, so you have to make some initial adjustments in the settings
menu of the BN-3000RL depending on the model of your radio and the type of microphone you use.
The most common are:
•The standard FM radios or PMR/LPD usually use a high impedance microphone called "electret".
These microphones deliver a great sign for what the menu setting on the "Radio Microphone Gain"
should be rather the minimum of the scale.
•Air Band AM radios typically use a low impedance dynamic microphone, so the menu setting on the
"Radio Microphone Gain" should be between half and full scale.
The ideal setting can be performed using two radios, one to confirm the receipt and one connected to the BN-
3000RL, performing the following steps:
•Turn on both radios and turn the volume pot halfway.
•Check the radio volume level to be connected to BN-3000RL, saying the numbers from “1” to “5” while
transmit, listening the volume level received in other radio.
•Connect the radio to the BN-3000RL and take a BlueNAC-3000 headset but do not put on your head
to avoid isolate the environment.
•Active the transmission by pressing the PTT key on the headset and speak in front of the microphone,
counting again from “1” to “5”.
•If the volume you heard on the other radio is similar to the initial test, this adjust is finished and you
must proceed to the reception volume level adjustment, explained below.
BN-3000RL uses a professional 9 pins connector which allows connection to the vast majority of
radios from leading brands, such as ICOM, Alan/Midland, Motorola, Yaesu/Vertex, Kenwood,
Cobra, Alinco, ADI, etc., for which we have the corresponding connecting cables. With this
portable version you only have to change the cable for different radios.

•If, however the volume is too low or too high, you must access to SETUP MENU and make the
appropriate changes. When you obtain the ideal setting, turn off the BN-3000RL so that the values are
recorded in its memory.
Note: with a very low gain, those who receive your communication, probably will not understand you well
because the signal is too poor, while if the gain is too high, your voice will be distorted.
Volume adjustments in radio reception (RX)
To listen to the radio at a volume similar to the intercom, you should perform the following procedure:
•Turn on the radio and turn the volume pot between one third and a half.
•Transmit from other radio and check the volume in the headset BlueNAC-3000.
•If the volume is too high or low, go into the SETUP MENU of the BN-3000RL and change the level in
"RADIO VOLUME" option.
•When you get the right level aproximately, you can make a fine adjust by means the volume of the
radio.
