1. GENERAL
1.1 The NAC RM03-000 is a universal passive
connectivity solution for service demarcations or
inter-facilities termination points. The RM03-000
is a rack or wall mountable housing designed to
deliver multiple fiber services or a combination
of fiber and multi-media services using NAC’s
VLX or LGX™ compatible adapter panels. The
RM03-000 mounting supports three (3) LGX™
compatible adapter panels.
1.2 Whenever this product or document is
changed, it will be reflected in this paragraph.
1.3 The RM03-000 provides the following
features and capabilities:
•Powder coated steel construction designed
for carrier class applications and
environments.
•Supports three (3) LGX™ adapter panels.
•Installation flexibility
o1 RU height, 19″or 23″rack
oFlat, horizontal, or vertical wall
mountable.
oAdjustable wall mounting depth
•Dual ⅝″ spaced ground studs
•Provides cable management, protection, and
security options.

2. APPLICATIONS
2.1 The RM03-000 is typically used as a
service demarcation between the Service
Providers and the End-Users or a service
termination point between Facilities. The RM03-
000 is ideal for applications involving fiber or
multi-media service demarcation or termination
handoffs, such as cell sites, customer premises,
CEV, or OSP cabinets. The Service Provider
typically installs the RM03-000 at the customer
premises as a service demarcation for their
Carrier Ethernet services. The Service Provider
can place their Fiber Multiplexer at a desirable
location or distance.
3. DESCRIPTION
3.1 The RM03-000 is a powder coated steel
designed rack housing consisting of a front, side,
and bottom plates. The front plate has three (3)
slots, where each slot supports an LGX™
compatible adapter panel. The RM03-00 has 3
VLX-100 panels installed as shown above. See
section 8 for other ordering options. The RM03-
000 base plate has an opening to allow rear
cable and LGX™ panel access. The base plate
provides a ⅝″ spaced dual ground studs for
grounding requirements, Figure 2. RM03-000
side plates can support the mounting brackets or
ears in multiple positions and configurations for
rack and wall mounting installations. Further
details are shown in Section 4.

4. INSTALLATION
4.1 Rack Mounting The RM03-000 can be
installed in 19″or 23″rack by positioning the
mounting brackets or ears as show in Figure 2.
Once aligned to the screw holes, secured each
mounting bracket or ear using two (2) screws.

4.2 Wall Mounting The RM03-000 can be
installed on a telecom ¾” plywood backboard in
many orientations, such as “horizontal off” or
“vertical flat” using the supplied #10 x ¾”
screws as shown in Figure 4.
4.3 Mounting Ears When installing the
RM03-000 in a “horizontal off” wall mounting
configuration, the mounting ears can adjust the
depth away from the wall. Refer to Figure 3.

4. INSTALLATION - Continued
4.4 Grounding The RM03-000 has two
(2) ground studs ⅝″ spaced for #6 ground wire
connections per the Service Provider or local
codes or ordinances. Refer to Figure 5 for
location.

4.5 Cable Management The RM03-000
front plate supports optional D-rings (RM-
AC103) for grooming front access cables. D-
rings are secured to the front plate by installing
the supplied #10 screw.
The RM03-000 can also support a security
cover that fits on the cable tray to prevent
unauthorized access or accidents from
damaging the front cabling and fiber adapters
or removing the VLX or LGX™ compatible
adapter panel or cassettes. The cover cane be
ordered separate as RM-AC101C or both the
cable tray and cover as a set as RM-AC100
Refer to Figure 6.

4.6 Security The RM03-000 supports
an optional cover (RM-AC102) to prevent
unauthorized access or accidental liquids from
damaging the rear cabling and connectors.
The cover is secured with four (4) screws.

6. WARRANTY & REPAIRS
6.1 Warranty
NAC warrants this product for the period
specified by the terms governing the sale of
the product. Any attempt to repair or modify
the equipment by anyone other than an
authorized NAC representative will void the
warranty.
This limited warranty does not cover any
losses or damages resulting from shipment to
or from the customer, or from improper
installation, abuse, modifications, or
unauthorized repair by other than NAC
personnel.
6.2 Repair and Return
NAC equipment will be repaired or replaced
without cost during the warranty period if the
product is defective for any reason other than

abuse, improper use, or improper installation.
Before returning defective equipment, first
request a Return Material Authorization (RMA)
number from NAC. Once an RMA number is
obtained, return the unit, freight prepaid, along
with a brief description of the problem, to:

beyond the warranty period is available for a
