1. Safety
- The 2-Side Trimmer may only be plugged in to an approved and by circuit breakers
protectedelectrical installation, that is secured with a maximum of 16A.
- The outlet socket shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.
- Never put your hands, other body parts or anything else then booklets within trimming
specifications in the infeed or outfeed of the 2-Side Trimmer.
- Before cleaning, maintenance or repairs, always be sure to switch off the power switch and
disconnect the appropriate power cord.
- Always follow all warnings marked on or supplied with the equipment.
- The equipment should only be placed on a solid surface with adequate strength to hold the
extra weight of the machine besides the usual maximum load.
- Always exercise care while moving or relocating the equipment.
- Keep magnets and all devices with a strong magnetic field away from the machine.
- Never attempt to perform maintenance or repairs other than described in this manual.
- Never remove covers or guards that are fastened with screws.
- Never install the equipment near a radiator or any other heat source.
- Never override or bypass electrical or mechanical interlock devices.
- In case of unusual sounds or noises, abnormal surface temperature or odours disconnect the
equipments power source immediately and consult a qualified technician.
The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for arbitrary changes in the machine and the
originated damage.
Make sure that the 2-Side Trimmer is NOT powered during installation or service activities.
This is a Class A product. In a domestic environment this machine may cause radio
interference. In which case the user may be required to take adequate measures.
Note: A domestic environment is an environment in which a radio and television receivers
can be expected inside a range of 10 meters of the concerning machines.

ONLY use RoHS compliant replacement parts ordered from SDD.

2. General
With the addition of the 2-Side Trimmer to the NAGEL product range, a cost effective full-bleed solution is
available which has a small footprint and is easily to operate. This machine is designed with high reliability in
mind, which means that it has been designed for long run production.
The main goal of the 2-Side Trimmer, further referred to as STR, is that it can be used for trimming the bleed
off the booklet. Booklets with a maximum up to 25 sheets 80g/m2 (50 folded) can be trimmed from 2mm to
35mm on each short edge of the booklet, to a minimum of 200mm and a maximum of 320mm finished size.
Thereby it is also possible to trim asymmetrical. All actions concerning operating the STR and adjusting the
trim settings can easily be done by using the User Interface (UI) on the STR.
For example in the schedule mentioned below is schematically rendered some results which are possible
with the STR by using a different Center Offset (symmetrical or asymmetrical):

3. Basic information STR
See the picture below to get familiar with the components of the 2-Side Trimmer.
Attention!!! All directions are seen from the paper flow direction.
This manual applies to the BLT3202.
Due to the mirroring, typical Front and Rear designations which normally is viewed from the operator
location has been replaced by Left and Right. Left and Right is viewed from the paper input direction.
Clarification:

1. Loosen Right cover The Right (Fig. 1) cover is mounted with 1 Hexagon M4
bolt inside the machine. Loosen the bolt (A) by using a
wrench 7mm but do not remove them.
2. Remove Right cover & disconnect
grounding Cable
Lift the covers slightly up and disconnect the grounding
cable. Remove the covers from the machine (Fig.2)

3. Loosen Upper Nuts Loosen both Upper Nuts (C) of the wheel bolts at the
Front by using a wrench 24mm (Fig. 5).
4. Adjust height STR Adjust the height of the STR by turning the wheel bolts
(D) by using a wrench 24mm (Fig. 6).
5. Check height STR Check if theFront cover of the STR is at close as possible
to water level (Fig. 7)
6. Tighten Upper Nuts After checking the height of the STR tighten the Upper
Nuts (C) (Fig. 5).

1. Adjust height of Outfeed Cover Open Outfeed Cover (Fig. 1 and 2).
2. Adjust height of Outfeed Cover Loosen 2X Exenters (Fig. 3 and 4). Set Exenters with
opening horizontal and tight the Exenters (Fig. 5 and 4).
3. Close Outfeed Cover (Fig.6).

Step Action Remarks
1. Unpacking Handfeed Unit (Fig. 1)
2. Removing ty-rap Remove the ty-rap (A) with a cutting pliers. (Fig.2)
3. Loosen locking Bracket Loosen the Locking Bracket (B) inside the STR (Fig.3)
with a wrench 7mm.
4. Placing Handfeed Unit Place the Handfeed Unit in the holes of the infeed
side (C) at the STR (Fig.4).
Attention: Make sure the Positioning Pins at the
Handfeed Unit fits the locking Bracket

Place two Allen screw (D) through the holes in the
middle of the Handfeed Unit (Fig. 6 & 7)
6. Tighten the Allen screw by using a Allen key 2.5mm and
tighten the self-locking nut M4 (E) with flat washer by
using wrench 7mm (Fig. 8)

1. Securing Power cable Secure the Power cable (A) on the STR by using a ty-
rap in the mounting hole. (Fig. 1)
2. Connecting STR Connect the Power cable of the STR to the wall outlet.
3. Placing Covers Place all cover back on the STR & SQF.
(See Chap. 4.2 Preparing the STR in reversed order)
Attention!!! The STR should only be plugged in to an approved and by circuit breakers secured
electrical installation, that is secured with a maximum of 16A.

5. Enter ‘System Setup’ menu Use the ‘▲/ ▼buttons’ to select ‘System Setup’ and
press the ‘Enter’ button. (Fig. 2)
6. Select System Setup Select the correct System Setup conform to the STR (3 /
4 etc.) (Fig. 3)
Save and confirm with [Enter]

Step Action Remarks
1. Enter ‘Job’ menu Press ‘Jobs’ . (Fig. 1)
2. Select a Job / or make a new Job Use the ‘▲/ ▼’ buttons to select a Job or to adjust the
‘Job name’ (Fig. 2). Press the ‘Enter’ button to load or
confirm.
Attention: A “Loading Job” signal appears for a
few seconds.
3. Adjust all settings Use the ‘▲/ ▼’ and the ‘+/ -‘ buttons to set the
desired settings for Side Trim and confirm by pressing
the ‘Enter’ button. (Fig. 3)
4. Save Job Press ‘Jobs’, and save the current Job by pressing the
‘Enter’ button. (Fig. 4)
Attention: A “Saving Job” signal appears for a
few seconds.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 5 for all Jobs in
the STR

7. Thickness detection
NVM ‘Stop if booklet too thick’ is a value to set a warning for the Operator when a booklet is to thick to trim.
There are 3 different warnings adjustable, which are:

8. Job Testing
1) Adjust the UI settings to the desired booklet size.
2) Run a job according to ‘Set up a Trim Job’.
3) Check if the booklet is well trimmed and measure if the Finished Size of the booklet is conform the
Size displayed on the UI of the STR.
When the booklet is not conform the Size displayed on the UI, check and adjust the STR (Service
Manual) !!! Repeat step 1 and 2.
Use the 2-Side Trimmer Operator Manual BLT6302 how to run a job. Check in the Operator
Manual if all functionalities are as described.
