This operation manual describes:

Loosen the screws (round head

cover.
2 . Insert the dongle in the slot located on the left side, make sure that the barcode
label on the dongle is facing up, and then press the dongle in until you have
confirmed that the dongle has been locked with the connector properly.
3 When finished refit the dongle cover using the screws (round head philip
screws M3 x 6) that were attached to the cover.

0Before installing and connecting the product, turn off the power switch on the cabinet
and unplug the power cord from the service outlet to prevent an electric shock.
l Do not install or connect the product outdoors. The product is designed for indoor
use only. Installation or connection of the product conducted outdoors can cause an
electrical shock or fire.

l Make sure the person conducting the installation or connection is not
charged with static electricity. Static electricity can cause a malfunction
or damage of this product.
0Do not perform a conductivity test using a tester. The internal voltage in a
tester can damage the ICs on the PC board and render the PC board
useless.
The product can be used with a
JAMMA
STANDARD or
JAMMA
VIDEO STANDARD (JVS) conforming
cabinet. However, the connection method varies depending on the type of the cabinet.
To install the product in a JAMMA STANDARD conforming cabinet, the
JAMMA
PC board kit (optional)
is required.

To install the product in a JAMMA STANDARD conforming cabinet, mount the PC
board andJAMMA (B) PC board on the mounting plate by following the procedures
below.
Turn off the power switch on the cabinet, and unplug the power cord from the
service outlet.
By following the directions for PC board installation in the operation manual of the
cabinet, open the cover of the PC board compartment and take out the PC board
mounting plate.

Install the PC board to the mounting plate by following the procedures below.
Turn off the power switch on the cabinet, and unplug the power cord from the
service outlet.
By following the directions for PC board installation in the operation manual of the
cabinet, open the cover of the PC board compartment and take out the PC board
mountingplate.
When two cabinets are used for a communication-linked setup, the PC board can
be installed in either unit.

board at a location on the mounting plate where the installed PC board does not
hinder the reinstallation of the mounting plate.

5-4-l Checking the JAMMA edge connector

To connect the product to a JAMMA STANDARD conforming cabinet, use the JAMMA
edge connector provided with the cabinet.

Check to make sure the terminal numbers of the
JAMMA
edge connector corre-
spond with those in the
JAMMA
edge connector table below. If not, solder or use
crimp-style terminals to connect wires as indicated in the table.

0Cover connections with heat-shrink insulation tubes to prevent shorting.
0Do not connect wires to the terminals with no indication in the table.
Connection of a wire to those terminals can cause the PC board to
malfunction.

Check the voltage of power supplied from the cabinet to be connected with the
JAMMA
edge connector and the voltage of power supplied to the coin counter in
the cabinet.
0The power supplied from the cabinet connected to the JAMMA edge connector must
comply with the following specifications.

Use of non-conforming power supply can cause a fire.
0Use +lZV or t5V power supply for the coin counter in the cabinet. Higher
voltaae can cause the PC board to malfunction.
If thevoltage is low, the LED on the
JAMMA
PC board blinks. When the
LED blinks, check the power supply voltage.

Checking the extension harness

When connecting the product to a
JAMMA
STANDARD conforming cabinet, use
the extension switch harness and extension stereo harness provided in the
JAMMA
PC board kit.
Check to make sure the terminal numbers of the extension switch harness and
extension stereo harnesses correspond with those in the table below.
(Note) The extension switch harness and extension stereo harness are not used
when the product is installed in a
JAMMA
VIDEO STANDARD (JVS) con-
forming cabinet.
