Locating Correct Vehicle Wires
1. Use amultimeter.
2. Set your multimeter to DCvoltage.
3. Attach the negative (-) probe to the vehicle chassis ground.
4. Probe the wires you suspect of being the constant and ignition power sources.
Note: The Nauto 3 Device can support vehicles with a 24-volt power source

Constant +12V or 24V Power Connection (Nauto 3 Device Red Wire)
1. Find asource of constant +12V or 24V under the dashboard of the driver side of the car.
a. There are multiple places where this can be found, and locations vary between vehicles. Plan your installation according to your needs. You may find specific wiring
details by specific vehicle online, such as on The 12 Volt (www.the12volt.com).
b. Ensure that the wire you choose is aconstant source of +12V or 24V.If you use amultimeter, it should show approximately 12V or better between your source and
chassis ground regardless of the ignition switch position, open or closed doors, on or off lights and other accessories, etc.
2. Using your preferred connection method (poke &wrap, solder, or posi-tap), using the provided inline fuse holder, connect the red wire from the power cable to one side of the
inline fuse holder, and the other to the source of +12V or 24V.Be sure NOT to permanently disconnect the 12V or 24V source from other circuits in the vehicle and take care to make
astrong connection to survive vibration and temperatures.
a. Do not exceed the max amperage that the circuits fuse can handle, keeping in mind the cumulative amps of other after-market devices.
Ground Connection (Nauto 3 Device BlackWire)
1. Crimp or solder aring terminal at the end of the black wire.
2. Connect it directly to asuitable metal spot on the vehicle’s chassis to create asolid ground. One method that may be appropriate is using aself-tapping screw. The driver’s
kick panel under the dashboard is acommon grounding area, or any painted metal surface.
Ignition Source (Nauto 3 Device White Wire)
1. Locate the wire that you suspect will have ignition power.
2. If you use amultimeter, probe the suspected wire with the meter lead to check:
a. There should be zerovoltage. (key off)
b. With the key turned to the “ON” position in the ignition (do not start the vehicle), the wire should show 12 volts DC or more.
c. With the meter lead still probing the wire, start the vehicle. While the starter is cranking, the wire’s voltage should not drop by more than 2volts.
d. Turn the key to the “OFF” position. The voltage should return to 0.
3. Using your preferred connection method (poke &wrap, solder, or posi-tap), connect the white wire from the power cable to the source of Ignition.Be sure NOT to permanently
disconnect the ignition source from other circuits in the vehicle and take care to make astrong connection to survive vibration and temperatures.
a. Do not exceed the max amperage that the circuits fuse can handle, keeping in mind the cumulative amps of other after-market devices.
WARNING Do not plug harness into the Nauto 3 Device while making connections.

Power Cable Connection
1. Locate the power end of the power cable, or the end with the small black block (see image
for reference).
2. Leave 8-10” of the cable exposed at the rearview mirror and route the cable safely and
securely to the power supply unit.
3. One way to do so that may be appropriate is as follows:
a. Start tucking the cable under the windshield headliner starting just above the
rearview mirror.
b. The cable should be buried under the headliner so that it will not slide out or drop
from the headliner.
c. Route the cable to the left (driver’s side of the vehicle) and remove the A-pillar
panel to route the cable around, behind, and away from all airbag components and
related vehicle accessories.
d. Pull the door gasket away from the body of the vehicle and run the power cable
into the channel near the pinch weld, but without crossing over the pinch weld,
towards the power supply unit.
4. Bundle and secure all excess wiring so it will not interfere with vehicle and driver controls.
5. Mount the bundled cable in a secure location under the dash of the vehicle with zip ties.
