14) Refer all servicing to qualified service personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been
damaged in any way, such as POWER-supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen

OVERVIEW OF SYSTEM CONTROLS

In the case of a power failure, the Power Backup will keep the clock and alarm times accurate
•Open the Battery Cover on the bottom of the unit.
•Insert 2 AAA batteries (not included) following the
polarity, as indicated in the compartment.
•Close the battery cover.
IMPORTANT:
•Be sure that the batteries are installed correctly.
•Wrong polarity (+ or -) may damage the unit and void the warranty.
•For best performance and a longer operating time, we recommend using Super Alkaline type
batteries that are of a good quality.
CAUTION:
•Do not mix old and new batteries.
•Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc), or rechargeable (nickel-cadmium) batteries.
•If the unit is not going to be used for an extended period of time, remove the batteries from
the unit.
•Old or leaking batteries can cause damage to the unit and may void the warranty.
•Do not dispose of batteries in fire, as batteries may explode or leak.
Battery Installation for the Power Backup - Requires 2 AAA Batteries - (Not Included)
until the main power has been restored.

IMPORTANT:
•This unit operates on AC 120V~ 60Hz.
•Do not attempt to operate this unit on any other power source. You could cause damage
to the unit and void your warranty.
•Please be sure the power outlet you plug this unit into is working and receives constant
unswitched power.

NOTE: The product will operate properly with or without batteries, except in the case of power loss.

BATTERY INFORMATION

VOLUME
Adjust the Volume Control Knob (3) to the desired volume level.
POWER
1. Plug the attached AC power cord into a 120V AC~ 60Hz wall outlet.
2. Press the POWER Button (1) once to turn the unit on. The Power Indicator Light (2)
will turn on. Press the POWER Button (1) again to turn the unit off.
PAIRING A BLUETOOTH DEVICE
1. Turn your Bluetooth device off entirely and then turn it back on to refresh the device’s
Bluetooth Memory.
Before using a Bluetooth device, you must first pair your external device with the NAXA NS-441.
2. Find the Bluetooth menu on your device and make sure the Bluetooth function is turned on.
(refer to your device’s user manual for instructions on finding the Bluetooth menu).
3. Press the FUNCTION Button (4) repeatedly until “BT”appears on the LCD screen.
4. On your device, search for nearby Bluetooth devices to add the NAXA NS-441 as a new device.
5. When the NAXA NS-441 is discovered, your device will display “NAXA NS-441” in the Bluetooth menu.
6. If your Bluetooth device asks for a password, enter “0000” and the device will now pair with the
NAXA NS-441. Making it ready to use.
NOTE: the NAXA NS-441 will make a chime when your device has successfully paired.
7. If supported by your device, set the NAXA NS-441 as “authorized” in the Bluetooth menu.
After successfully pairing your Bluetooth device with the NAXA NS-441, you can begin playing music
simply by choosing the song you wish to hear on your device’s menu system (refer to your device’s
user manual for instruction on playing music).
To play or pause music, press the PLAY / PAUSE Button (5) or (26)
To skip to the next song, press the NEXT / F.FWD Button (7) or (27)
To skip to the previous song, press the PREV / F.RWD Button (8) or (28)
NOTE: All Playback controls (Play, Pause, Skip + / -, etc.) can also be controlled directly on your
Bluetooth device.

OPERATING THE DEVICE

PLAYING A CD
SKIPPING TRACKS
•During CD play, press the PREV / F.REV button (8) or (28) to move to the previous
track
•Press the NEXT / F.FWD button (7) or (27) to move to the next track.
SEARCHING TRACKS
•During CD play press and hold the PREV / F.RWD Button(8) or (28) to rewind
through the current track.
•Press and hold the NEXT / F.FWD button (7) or (27) to scan fast forward through the
current track
PROGRAMMED PLAYBACK
1. Up to 20 tracks can be programmed to play in any desired sequence.
2. Press the PROGRAM Button (9) until "PROG" flashes in display.
3. Press the NEXT / F.FWD Button (7) or (27) or the PREV / F.RWD Button (8) or (28) to
select a desired track to be programmed.
4. Press the PROGRAM Button (9) to program the track.
5. Repeat steps 3 & 4 to program more tracks.
6. Press the PLAY / PAUSE Button (5) or (26) to start playing.
7. To cancel program play, press the STOP Button (6) or (29) twice.
REPEAT PLAY
•To Repeat a Single Track
oPress the REPEAT Button (10) or (30) while the track you want to repeat is
playing. "REP 1" is shown in display.
oTo repeat another track, press the PREV / F.RWD Button(8) or (28), or the

3. Insert a CD with the label facing Up.

6. Press the PLAY / PAUSE button (5) or (26) again to momentarily pause playback.
7. To Stop playback, press the STOP button (6) or (29).
NEXT / F.FWD Button (7) or (27).
oTo cancel repeat play, press the REPEAT Button (10) or (30) twice.
•To Repeat All Tracks
oPress the REPEAT Button (10) or (30) twice during play. "REP ALL" will
appear in the display.
oAll tracks will be played through in sequence and then the sequence will be
repeated continuously.
oTo cancel repeat play, press the REPEAT Button (10) or (30) once.

PLAYING A NON-BLUETOOTH iPod, MP3 PLAYER, OR OTHER DEVICE
1. Connect a 3.5mm stereo audio cable from the headphone jack or other audio output on
your Non-Bluetooth device into the AUX INPUT on the rear of the BS029MS.
2. Adjust the volume control on the connected device to an acceptable level.
3. Use the controls of the connected device to control audio playback.
NOTE: When a 3.5mm cable is connected, the Bluetooth, CD, and Radio functions will be
automatically disconnected. To resume CD or Radio play, unplug the audio cable from the
AUX Input on the rear of the device.
LISTEN TO AM/FM STEREO RADIO
1. Press the FUNCTION Button (4) repeatedly to select the RADIO function.
2. Press the AM/FM Button (11) to select AM or FM.
3. Turn the RADIO TUNING KNOB (12) to select the desired Radio station.
4. While in Radio Mode, the LCD Display will indicate the current station frequency.
To view the current time, press the DISPLAY Button (16) the time will be shown on
the LCD display and will disappear automatically.
NOTE: You cannot set the time or the alarm while the Radio is in use.
ANTENNAS
The AM & FM antennas are built-in to the cabinet of this player. To improve reception of radio stations
simply move the entire player to another location until reception improves.
SETTING THE CLOCK
1. Turn the device off before setting the time.
2. To set the clock, press and hold the TIME SET Button (13).
3. While holding the TIME SET Button (13) press the HOUR (14) or the MINUTE (15) buttons
respectively until the correct time is displayed.
Release the TIME SET Button (13) when the correct time appears in the LCD display.
SETTING THE ALARM
1. Turn the device off before setting the alarm.
2. Press and hold the ALARM SET Button (17) to set the alarm time.
3. While holding the ALARM SET Button (17) press the HOUR (14) or the MINUTE (15) buttons
respectively until the proper time is set.
4. Turn on the alarm function by pressing the ALARM ON / OFF Button (19) until the Alarm
icon appears in the LCD Display.
5. To turn off the alarm, press the ALARM ON / OFF Button (19) until the Alarm icon
disappears from the LCD Display.

6. After setting the Alarm to your desired time, press the MUSIC / BUZZER Button (18) to the
desired selection.
•If you are waking to CD press the MUSIC / BUZZER Button (18) until “CD” appears in the
LCD Display.
•If you are waking to RADIO press the MUSIC / BUZZER Button (18) until “♪” appears in the
LCD Display.
•If you are waking to BUZZER press the MUSIC / BUZZER Button (18) until only the Alarm
icon appears in the LCD Display.
7. To Stop the Alarm while it is playing, simply press the ALARM ON / OFF Button (19) once.

USING THE DIGITAL BASS BOOST FEATURE
•To enhance the low frequency bass sound, press the DBBS Button (21). The DBBS Indicator
Light (22) will turn on.
•Press the DBBS Button (21) again to turn the Digital Bass Boost off.
