2. TurningtheUnitOnandOff
2.1 NotesonBatteriesandCharging
TheNCI‐465usesnewtechnologyLithiumIonbatteries.Apowercontrolmoduleensuresthat
thebatteriescannotbeoverchargedoroverdepleted.Adischargeandchargetestfunctionis
includedtoensuretheunitisperforminguptostandardthroughoutitslifetime.See6.8
TestingtheBatteryandChargingSystemfordetailsonperformingthesetestfunctionsonthe
unit.
Iftheunitisfullydischargedandyouattempttoturntheuniton,theremaybesome
unexpectedresponses,fromflashingLED’stonothingappearingtohappen.Simplyplugtheunit
intothecharger,andpoweron.Aswithanymodernelectronicdevicerunninghightechnology
batterysystems,therewillbeaperiodoftimewhentheunitwillnotrespond,untilaminimum
chargeisputintothebatteries.WiththeNCI‐465youwillseethefollowingmessageindicating
thisishappening.TheYellowpowerLEDwillblink.

clickingastheunitnearsthefinishofthesequence.ThenextscreenyouwillseeistheCircuit

Alphanumericcharactersaresupported,presstherightarrowkeytoenterAlphanumericinput
mode.PressthedownanduparrowtomovebetweenCID,ORDER#andTECHIDfields.Press

Pressthearrowkeystomovetothecharacteryouwishtoselect,presstheSelectkeytoplace

YouwillnoticetheDSL(4)keyflashingagreenLED.Theunitisautomaticallytryingtosynctoa
DSLcircuit.IfthecircuitIDyouenteredissatisfactory,youmaypresstheDSL(4)keytocheck
theprogressofthetest.Youmaypressanyotherkeytoperformothertestsifyouwish.See
