Night Owl’s AHD Series Camera Compatibility:
Your Night Owl PTZ camera is only compatible with Night Owl’s Analog HD DVR
Series and is preconfigured by default to be connected to Channel 1. Night Owl’s
Analog HD DVRs are compatible with most analog cameras (480-900TVL) and
Night Owl’s Analog HD (AHD) cameras. Please keep in mind cameras of similar
resolutions should be connected to the same channel block (top to bottom) on the
DVR. For example, a 900TVL camera will not display an image if it is connected
to the same channel block (top to bottom) as an AHD 720p camera Please refer to
the image below for additional reference:

Factors to Consider
Before Installation
Test all connections locally to ensure the camera is fully functional prior to
permanent installation.
You should install the camera where there is the least amount of obstructions to
ensure you have optimal viewing at all times.
Only use the camera within the specified operating temperature to ensure camera
functionality.
Do not install the camera behind a window as it will cause a reflection that will
obscure objects on the other side of the glass. Also, the camera’s LED’s will also
reflect off the glass and shine into the lens which will result in a poor image.
The mounting surface must be sturdy enough to support at least four times the
camera’s total weight.
The location of the cable run can cause severe image quality issues if installed
over or next to electrical cabling (likely potential for interference which will cause
video degradation).
Each installation will be different, if the environment requires it you may have to
provide additional housing if the camera is installed in location/environment with
extreme weather conditions.
Do not disassemble the camera’s enclosure as doing so will void the camera’s
warranty.
Factors to Consider Before Installation
Test the camera locally before installing the camera permanently.
