Intended Purpose
This product (hereinafter referred to as this equipment) is designed so that the split attachment (to be
purchased separately) is attached to for performing works as a split system.

●When handling the split system, observe all the applicable safety rules, standards or regulations in the
area where the split system is used.
This split system is designed and produced according to the standards and regulations applied in the
purchase country, assuming that the use is only limited to the case of use in the purchase country. The
split sytem is not designed or produced to comply with the standards or regulations other than those
applied in the purchase country.
Please refrain from exporting and selling the split sytem to any countries whose languages differ from
the language of purchase country.

Important Cautions for Safe Work
●NIKKARI Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as NIKKARI) cannot foresee all the risks in handling the split
system. Therefore, also give consideration to general safety measures not stated in this manual, split
attachment manual, and engine manual to prevent accidents when handling the split system.
●The split system is a high-speed cutting tool with very long reach. To decrease risk of personal injury,
some special safety precautions must be observed. If it is used carelessly or inappropriately, hands or
body could get contact with the moving part of the attachment such as a blade, resulting in serious injury
such as nger or hand amputation or even fatal injury.

Warranty and Disclaimer
Warranty
In the event that the split system fails due to defects of genuine parts comprising our product in material
or manufacturing within the warranty period after normal and appropriate use of the split system in
accordance with the instruction manual of the split attachment and split engine, and cautions shown on the
split system indication, NIKKARI will repair, free of charge, in accordance with the rules and regulations for
the warranty.
This split system has a 12-month warranty from the date of purchase. However, the consumables are not
covered by the warranty.
The warranty is valid when the purchase date can be checked on the invoice, bill of carriage or ticket.
This split system will be covered by the warranty under normal use. However, the warranty will not cover
the split system if the failure occurs due to wear, inappropriate maintenance, abuse by unqualied person,
misuse, use of unspecied accessories, and overload of the split engine.

NIKKARI will not be liable for any or all of the following failures or damages.
NIKKARI shall be exempted from all and any direct or indirect duties, responsibilities, and indemnities for
accidents resulting from the use of split system exported from the purchase country.

●Failures or damages resulting from abuse, misuse, mishandling or misapplication of the split attachment

1. Safety
1.1 Warnings
For appropriate use of the split engine, follow the instructions in this manual. Warning labels are attached
to places where there are potential risks or in the periphery. The warning labels in this instruction manual
are categorized depending on the degree of risk as shown in the table below.

word is ignored, serious injury or fatal injury may result.

1.1.2 Warning Labels
Cautions for Handling
(a) This split engine is provided with warning labels to indicate important cautions. Understand the
meanings of the warning labels thoroughly and work in a safe environment without accident or
failure.
(b) Do not operate the split engine until you have a good understanding of the meanings of the
warning labels. If you do not understand well about the meanings, contact the sales agency.
(c) Be sure to observe the warning labels and warning messages in the instruction manual at all
times to handle the split engine.
(d) Do not remove or damage the warning labels. Also, do not clean the warning labels with solvent.
(e) Do not paint the warning labels when repainting the split engine.
(f) If the warning labels become illegible, damaged or removed, purchase new ones from the sales
agency, and attach them in accordance with the “■ Attached Location and Warning Labels.”

1.2 General Precautions
1.2.1 Overall Precautions
Do not use the attachment of the brush cutter for the branch cutting etc.
* The cut branches and the split engine fall over the head, and the operator could be
caused a injury.
Do not use this equipment with the scattering prevention cover (brush cutter
attachment) and rotary cover (cultivator attachment) removed.
* It could be caused a injury by the scattered stones etc.
Do not install the loop handle on the place where warning labels are put on.
* Warning labels are not readable, and contents are not understood. It could cause an
injury.
Install the loop handle to the specied position. Otherwise, it could be out of
control
* You could drop the equipment because it biomes out of control or you could get contact
with the blade or cutter, resulting in accident.
When installing the attachment, make sure that the knob BT is tightened.
* Otherwise, it could cause that the attachment to come off.
Do not use the split engine without the attachment.
* Otherwise, a serious accident or damage will happen.
Do not allow minors to operate this equipment.
* It could cause a serious accident.
Do not modify this equipment.
* It could deteriorate the performance, resulting in a serious accident due to deterioration
on safety.
Do not install any unapproved split attachment to this equipment.
* The attachment could come off during use, resulting in a serious accident.
Do not remove the safety devices.
* A serious accident could result due to deterioration on safety.
Do not use this equipment for anything purpose other than that specied in
this instruction manual.

1.2.2 Precautions on Clothes
Wear a hard hat when operating or transporting this equipment.
* It could cause injury to head.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment when using this equipment.
Refer to the attachment manual for detail.
* Otherwise, it could cause injury.
Wear goggle when using this equipment.
It is recommended to also use face shield (or face screen) together.
* If they are not used, it could cause eye injury due to scattering of sand or stone, etc.
Wear the hearing protective equipment including year mufers when using this
equipment.
* Hearing loss could be developed due to the noise of the engine.
Refer to the split engine manual for detail.
Depending on the type of the work which uses the attachment, higher grade of
protection may be required for your cloths.
* Otherwise, it could cause injury.
1.2.3 Precautions before Operation
Do not allow children or animals to enter the working range of this equipment
(within 15m).
* Otherwise, a serious accident will happen.
Do not operate this equipment near the electric cable.
* Otherwise, an electric shock will be caused.
Make sure that this equipment is operated normally or there is not any part
missing or cracking before starting the operation.
Especially check the movement of the throttle trigger, start/stop switch, looseness of
the connections, fuel leakage and damage of the moving part of the attchment such
as a blade.
* Otherwise, a serious accident could result.
When bumping the attachment against something hard such as stones, make
sure that the knob bolt is not loosened.
* Otherwise, it could cause the split engine to fall off.

Do not use the damaged mufer, or do not use the altered or modied mufer.
* Burn, re, and hearing disorder could happen.
Check the condition of the moving part of the attachment such as blade, and
mounting screws and nuts before/after operating this equipment.
* If it is used with cracks or looseness, the blade could chip off and the pieces of the blade
could hit a person, resulting in injury.
Check the condition of the blade or cutter, and mounting screws and nuts

1.2.4 Precautions at Start-up
This equipment must be started in a non-slippery and rm place.

When starting the engine, make sure there is no one or no object on the back.

1.2.5 Precautions for Operation
Do not operate this equipment on insecure footings including a ladder, tree,
back of the truck or any other insecure support.
* You will fall off the footing, drop the split system or get contact with the blade by
inappropriately handling it, resulting in accident.
While operating this equipment, put up a KEEP OUT sign in a prominent place
to prevent any third person from entering within 15m of the working area.
* Otherwise, a serious accident will happen.
Be sure to use blades or cutters designated by the manufacturer.
* If any blade or cutter other than that specied is used, the blade or cutter could be
damaged or it could come off, resulting in injury of the operator.
Do not operate this equipment in a closed area.
* Exhausted gas affects the health.
Do not operate this equipment under poor visibility including after sunset or in
the early morning.
* It could cause accidents such as contact with some objects or falling off.
Do not use this equipment continuously for a long time.
* If it is operated continuously for a long time, vibration induced white nger could be
developed.
Do not operate the this equipment by one hand.
* You could drop the split system or get contact with the blade by inappropriate handling,
resulting in accident.
If the blade or moving parts on the attachment side starts moving while idling,
do not use this equipment.
* Otherwise, an accident could happen.
Do not use this equipment at high place.
Refer to the attachment instruction manual for detail.
* If you work at high place, you may not hold this equipment appropriately or trip over,
resulting in injury to head.
Do not hit the blade against something hard such as stones, stumps and pillars
when using the attachment of the brush cutter.
* It could rebound and cause an operator or persons around to suffer a bruise or cause
property damage.
Remove obstacles, and watch your step when operating the split system.
* If the footing is insecure, an accident due to tripping over or falling could happen.

If the blade stops because it is tangled with bands, wires and grasses etc. when
using the attachment of the brush cutter, remove these things after making
sure that the engine is stopped and the blade is completely stopped.
* When the rotating speed of the engine increases, hands or ngers could be severed by
the blade.
Make sure that the blade or cutter is not cracked/damaged or the bolts/nuts are
not loosened after hitting the blade or cutter with something hard.
* Pieces of the blade or cutter may could scatter or blade itself could y over, causing a
injury to the operator.
Use the shoulder band.
* If this equipment is dropped because of the kickback, the operator's hands or ngers
could be severed by the blade.
When turning around or changing position, the operator should move slowly
so that the blade or cutter should not get contact with people and objects
around.
* Otherwise, it could cause a injury to the person or damage to objects by contact with the
blade or cutter, or the operator could fall down by the kickback of the equipment when
the brush cutter attachment is used.
Concentrate on the work during the grass cutting without standing talking.
When doing the other work out of necessity, stop the engine before performing.
* Unless concentrating on the cutting grass work, the operator could be injured
unexpectedly because the concentration becomes loose.
Do not touch the mufer during or after the operation.
The mufer is hot and it could cause burn injury.
Check if there are empty cans, wires, pebbles, bands etc. or not.
If there are still empty cans, wires, pebbles, bands etc., remove those before operating this
equipment.
*Scattering of the broken pieces of the damaged blade or cutter, may result in injury
accident.

1.2.6 Precautions for Maintenance
Contact the sales agency about replacement or sharpening of a blade or cutter.
* If the customer replaced or sharpened the blade or cutter by himself, the blade could
break or come off and injure the customer.
Stop the engine before maintenance, repair or cleaning.
* If the engine starts during operation, hands or ngers could be severed by the moving
parts or blade.
Do not perform any maintenance or repair other than those described in the
instruction manual. Request the sales agency.
* It could cause an accident.
Make sure that the fuel cap is not loosened periodically.
* If the fuel cap is loose, the fuel could leak, resulting in skin irritation due to contact with
the fuel or re accident.
Before carrying out the maintenance, stop the engine.
This equipment and the attachment have the driving part, the high voltage part and
the high temperature part.
* When you get contact with these parts, you might suffer an injury, an electric shock, a
burn, etc.
Wear gloves when handling the blade or cutter such as their replacement.
* Otherwise, hands or ngers could be severed.
Use the designated grease.

1.2.8 Precautions for Transporting
Do not transport this equipment or attachment by a bicycle and a motorbike.
* When the this equipment or attachment is dropped, it could cause injury to the operator
unexpectedly and damage to this equipment or attachment.
Before transporting this equipment, stop the engine, make the moving part of
the attachment such as blade stopped, and attach the guard to the blade.
Refer to the attachment manual for the detail of the guard.
* Otherwise, body, hands or ngers could be severed or objects could be damaged by
contact with the blade.
Remove obstacles, and watch your step when transporting the split system.
* If the footing is insecure, an accident due to tripping over or falling could happen.
When transporting this equipment on the back of the truck, discharge the fuel
and x this equipment tightly so that it does not move.
* Otherwise, this equipment could drop, causing a injury accident, a property accident,
and a re accident.
1.2.9 Precautions for Storing
When storing this equipment or the attachment, install the guard to the blade
or cutter. And store it in the place out of reach of children and animals.
Refer to the attachment manual for the transportation guard.
* Otherwise, it could cause injury to an operator due to contact with the blade or cutter,
or even serious injury by getting contact with the blade or cutters while the operator is
falling down or tumbling.

1.2.10Precautions for Fuel
Store the gasoline/oil/grease in a place out of reach of children.
Also, put them in a container so that the gasoline/oil/grease are not spilled and make
them distinguished to understand contents.
* When drinking them by mistake, the person could feel physically sick.
When handling the fuel, follow the instructions below.
(a) Use approved containers.
(b) Do not smoke near the fuel.
(c) Do not use re near the fuel.
(d) Open the fuel cap slowly.
(e) Do not refuel until the engine cools down.
(f) Do not refuel during operation.
(g) Do not refuel indoors.
(h) Tighten the fuel cap completely after refueling.
(i) Check if there is no oil leaking.
* Because the fuel is highly combustible, if mis-handled, there is a risk of re.
Before refueling, touch the ground or the metal embedded in the ground to
eliminate static electricity.
* If you are charged with static electricity, it could cause re due to static electricity spark.
Refer to the split engine manual for fuel to be used.
* If fuel and the kind of oil, the mixture ratio, the amount of oil is not appropriate, the
engine could be damaged.
Do not discard gasoline, oil, or grease into the river, the sea, or the ground.
* Otherwise, it could pollute the environment.

Safety Devices and Protective Guard
1.3.1 Safety Devices (Stop Devices)
To stop the split sytem in case of an accident or abnormality, use the safety device (stop device) below and
stop the operation of the blade, cutter, fan, etc.
(A) Throttle Trigger
When the throttle trigger [1] is released, the engine
power will decrease, and the operation of the blade,
cutter, fan, etc. will stop.
However, it will still move for a while (ywheel effect).
It does not immediately stop when the throttle trigger is
released.
The throttle trigger will not move unless the trigger
lockout [2] is gripped. (Interlock system)
(B) Stop Switch
When the stop switch [3] is set to OFF (O side), the
engine will stop and the operation of blade, cutter, fan,
etc. will stop.
However, the blade will still move for a while (ywheel
effect) and will not stop immediately after the stop
switch is set to OFF (O side).
1.3.2 Safety Device (Quick Release)
In case of an accident or abnormality, the split system can be released from the harness by using the
following safety device (quick release)
By pulling the red strap (quick release) [1] of harness,
the split system will be released from the harness and
fall off.

1.4 Protective Equipment
Be sure to wear protective equipment specied by the
split attachment manual for avoiding risk when working
by using the split system.
Note
●Use eye protections (or goggles), ear plugs (or
ear mufers) and hard hats, etc. conformed to the
applicable standard.
1.5 Noise
There is a danger that a person might suffer permanent hearing loss by the sound from the split system.
A person operating the split system must use ear protection equipment including an ear mufer.
A person using the split system frequently must undergo a hearing test.
However, take care when wearing the ear protection equipment. Your ability to hear shouts or alarms is
restricted.
1.6 Vibration
Vibration generated by the split system causes vibration induced white nger (Reynaud's phenomenon)
or carpal tunnel syndrome. This will cause swelling pain or nerve paralysis of hands, and there is a risk of
affecting the hand.
To prevent such problems, do not continuously operate for a long time. Instead, take an appropriate break.

5 Barrier A barrier to keep required minimum distance between the operator and
the cutting attachment for preventing the cutting attachment from being
contacted with the operator when the blade is rotating.
6 Shaft tube It is the main frame. The power transmission shaft is inside this tube.
7 Hanger A movable hanger to attach the hook of harness
8 Control grip Controls the engine speed. The engine start/stop switch is provided.
Grip it with your right hand.
9 Clutch housing Transmits the power from the engine to the power transmission shaft.
10 Spark plug A plug to light the fuel gas in the engine cylinder. The voltage and
temperature will be extremely high.

Mufer
Discharges engine emission. The temperature will be extremely high.
12 Air cleaner Removes dirt and dust from air to send clean combustion air to the
engine.
13 Recoil starter grip A grip to pull the inside rope for starting the engine
14 Fuel tank Keeps the engine fuel.
15 Quick release A device to release the split system from the harness in case of an
accident or abnormality
16 Harness An adjustable strap to keep the split sytem at the appropriate position

Installation and Adjustment
3.1 Assembly of Engine
Set the clutch housing [1] to the
engine.
Fix the clutch housing with the bolt
(4pcs) [2].
Note
●Some models are shipped with the engine installed.
3.2 Assembly of Handle
Wind the handle rubber [2] to the shaft
tube (blade side from the distance
collar [1]).
Set the handle (loop) bar [3] to the
handle rubber [2] so that the barrier [4]
should be on the left side.
Set the handle (loop) [5] from above.
Tighten the bolt [6] and washer [7] from
the top of the handle (loop). (4 points)
