Users of PictBridge compatible (J_[_198) printers can connect the camera directly
to the printer and print pictures without using acomputer. The steps for printing
are as follows.

k_ Notes on Power Source
• When connecting the camera to a printer, use a fully charged battery to prevent the camera from
turning off unexpectedly.
• The AC Adapter EH 62A (available separately from Nikon) can be used to power the camera using an
electrical outlet, Do not, under any circumstances, use another make or model of AC adapter. Failure to
observe this precaution could result in overheating or in damage to the camera,
_1_ Printing Pictures
In addition to printing pictures transferred to a computer and printing over a direct ca mera to printer
connection _r images recorded in the memory card, the _llowing options are also available for
printing pictures:
• insert a memory card into a DPOF compatible printer's card slot.
• Take a memory card to a digital photo lab.
For printing using these methods, sped_ the pictures and the number of prints each using the
Print set (_108) option in the playback menu.

Connecting the Camera and Printer

_1_ Connecting the USBCable
When connecting the USBcabb, be sure that the connectors are oriented correctly. Do not use _rce when
connecting the USB cable. When disconnecting the USB cable, do not pull the connector at an angle,

Turn off the camera and disconnect the USB cahie, Set Charge by computer (_ 168) in the camera's
setup menu to Off, then connect the camera again. 147

Printing Pictures One at a Time
After connecting tile camera to tile printer correctly ([_147), print pictures by
following the procedure below.

Printing Multiple Pictures
After connecting tile camera to tile printer correctly ([_147), print pictures by
following the procedure below.
1When the Print selection screen is displayed,
press the MI:NUbutton.
• ThePrint menu isdispWayed.

and press the _) button.
• Toexitthe print menu, pressthe MENUbutton.

3Choose the desired paper size and press the

• To specify paper size using printer settings, choose
Default in the paper size menu.
4Choose Print selection, Print all images or
DPOF printing and press the _) button.
Print selection
Choose the pictures (up to a maximum of 99) and
number of copies (up to nine per picture).
• Press the muWtiselector _ or i_ to choose the
pictures, and press • or • to set the number
of copies for each.
• Pictures can aJso be chosen by rotating the
command dial.
• Pictures sdected for printing can be
recognized by the check mark icon and the
numeraJ indicating the number of copies to be printed. A check mark is not
dispJayed with pictures for which no copies have been specified and these
pictures will not be printed.
• Rotate the zoom control to T (0_)to switch to full-frame playback, or W (_;_)
to switch to 12 thumbnails dispJay.
• Press the _) button when setting is complete.
• The menu shown at right wilJ be dispJayed. To
print, choose Start print and press the _)
button.
• Choose Cancel and press the _) button to
return to the print menu.

Print all images
All pictures stored in tile internal memory, or on
the memory card, are printed one at a time.
• The menu shown at right will be displayed. To
print, choose Start print and press the _)
button.
• Choose Cancel and press the _) button to
return to the print menu.
DPOF printing
Print pictures for which a print order was created
in Print set option ([_108).
• The menu shown at right will be displayed. To
print, choose Start print and press the _)
button.
• Choose Cancel and press the _) button to
return to the print menu.
• To view the current print order, choose View
images and press the _) button. To print
pictures, press the _) button again.

The camera supports the following paper sizes: Default (the default paper size for the current
printer), 3.5x5 in., 5x7 in., 100x150 mm, 4x6 in., 8x10 in., Letter, A3, and A4, Only sizes

I_1 Welcome Screen
Press the MENUbutton ") V (Setup menu) (_153) -') Welcome screen
Choose whether or not to display the welcome screen on the monitor when the
cameraisturned on.
None (default setting)
Displays the shooting or playback screen without displaying the welcome screen.

Displays the welcome screen before displaying the shooting or playback screen,
select an image
Select a picture that you have shot to display as the welcome screen. Display the
picture selection screen, choose a picture (_112), and press the _) button to
register it.
• As tile selected picture is stored in the camera, tile picture will appear in tile
welcome screen even if the original picture is deleted.
• Pictures shot with Image size ([_76) of [_ 3648x2432, _3584x2016, and
[_ 2736x2736 cannot be stored.
• Pictures reduced to 160x120 or smaller using small picture editing (_124) and
cropping (_126), cannot be selected.
