MODEL 23 TYPE HOLDER
Product Description
The Model 23 Type Holder secures and aligns characters for hand or press
stamping. Pieces of steel type are arranged in the holder and held in place with a
locking pin. The type is notched and cannot be placed in the holder backwards.
The Model 23 Type Holder is equipped with a replaceable hardened steel anvil.
Hand shank models are made of heat-treated alloy steel and have a vinyl coated
handle which minimizes operator fatigue.
Many different sizes are available as well as multiple-line holders. Press models
can have virtually any type of shank.

Operating Instructions
1. CAUTION: ALWAYS WEAR SAFETY GLASSES BEFORE STRIKING A
HAND SHANK MODEL.
2. The front of the holder is the side on which the Numberall logo is stamped.
3. Place the characters into the type holder with the notch in a position to line up
with the type holding pinholes. Use blank spacers to fill up any voids in the
type holder.
4. Slide the type holding pin into the holder. The tapered end should be pushed
into the frame just enough for it to stay in place. DO NOT OVER-TIGHTEN.
5. DO NOT DROP OR ABUSE THE MODEL 23.
6. For press mounted models, make sure the frame bears the load. The shank
should serve only to locate the type holder and keep it from falling out. No
load should be on the shank.
