Ispezionare le parti danneggiate
Prima di utilizzare ulteriormente l’elettroutensile, questo deve
essere controllato con attenzione per accertarsi che funzioni
correttamenteeopericonformementealsuousospecifico.
Controllare l’allineamento corretto delle parti in movimento,
accertarsi che non siano inceppate, controllare che non ci
siano componenti rotti e che l’elettroutensile sia montato
correttamente.
Verificare qualsiasi altra condizione che possa influire sul
funzionamentodell’elettroutensile.
Una protezione, o qualsiasi altra parte dell’elettroutensile che
sia danneggiata, deve essere riparata o sostituita da un centro
di manutenzione autorizzato, a meno di indicazione differente
contenutainquestomanualed’istruzioni.
Qualsiasi interruttore che non funziona correttamente deve
esseresostituitodauncentrodimanutenzioneautorizzato.
Non utilizzare l’elettroutensile se l’interruttore di ACCESO/
SPENTOnonaccendeespegnel’elettroutensile.
Lapolvereprodottadurantelalavorazionedeimaterialiènociva

Si raccomanda di indossare una adatta mascherina anti-

Non aprire o modificare in alcun modo l’elettroutensile o i suoi

Non esporre gli elettroutensili alla pioggia, o utilizzarli in

Mantenerel’areadilavorobeneilluminata.
Non utilizzare gli elettroutensili nelle zone dove esista un pericolo
di esplosione o d’incendio dovuto a materiali combustibili, a

Fare attenzione ai bambini e agli animali domestici
I bambini e gli animali domestici devono essere tenuti fuori
dall’areadilavoro.
Tutti gli elettroutensili devono essere tenuti fuori dalla portata
deibambini.Quandononsono in uso,èpreferibileriporregli
elettroutensili in un armadio o in una stanza asciutti e chiusi
achiave.
Utilizzare l’utensile corretto
Scegliere l’utensile appropriato per il tipo di lavoro. Non
utilizzare un utensile per un lavoro per il quale non è stato
progettato.Nonforzareunutensilepiccoloafareillavorodiun
utensileperserviziopesante.Nonutilizzaregliutensiliperscopi
acuinoneranostatidestinati.
Non forzare l’elettroutensile
L’elettroutensile farà un lavoro migliore, più sicuro e darà un
serviziomiglioreseverràutilizzatoallavelocitàpercuièstato
progettato.
Eseguire sempre un’accurata manutenzione degli utensili
Mantenere affilati e puliti gli utensili da taglio onde ottenerne le
prestazionimiglioriepiùsicure.
Seguire le istruzioni di lubrificazione e sostituzione degli
accessori.
Mantenere le impugnature asciutte, pulite e prive di olio e
grasso.
Accertarsichelefessurediventilazionesianosempremantenute
pulite e prive di polvere. Le fessure di ventilazione bloccate
possono causare il surriscaldamento e il danneggiamento del
motore.
Se questa macchina deve essere utilizzata quando si lavora ad
una certa altezza, deve essere utilizzato un ponteggio dotato di
ringhiera e battipiede o una piattaforma a torre, in modo tale da
garantireunaadeguatastabilità.
PROTEGGERSI DALLE SCOSSE ELETTRICHE
Evitare il contatto del corpo con superfici messe a terra o
a massa (per esempio tubazioni, radiatori, lavastoviglie e
frigoriferi).
Cavi di alimentazione
Non strattonare o tirare il cavo di alimentazione per scollegarlo
dallapresadialimentazionedirete.
Non trasportare mai l’elettroutensile afferrandone il cavo di
alimentazione.Tenereilcavodialimentazionelontanodafonti
dicalore,olio,solventiespigolivivi.
Ispezionare periodicamente il cavo di alimentazione
dell’utensile e, se danneggiato, farlo sostituire da un servizio di
manutenzioneautorizzato.
Esaminare periodicamente i cavi di prolunga e sostituirli se
danneggiati.
NON utilizzare cavi o bobine di prolunga a due conduttori per
gli elettroutensili con un percorso di terra. Utilizzare sempre
un cavo o bobina di prolunga a tre conduttori con il filo di terra
collegatoaterra.
Srotolaresemprecompletamentel’eventualecavodiprolunga.
Per i cavi di prolunga fino a 15 metri utilizzare conduttori di
sezione trasversale di 1,5 mm2.
Per i cavi di prolunga più lunghi di 15 metri, ma meno di 40
metri,utilizzareconduttoridisezionetrasversaledi2,5mm2.
Proteggere il cavo di prolunga da oggetti affilati, calore
eccessivoedall’esposizioneall’umiditàoall’acqua.
Questo elettroutensile soddisfa le normative nazionali
e internazionali e i requisiti di sicurezza. Le riparazioni
devono essere eseguite unicamente da personale
qualificato, utilizzando pezzi di ricambio originali. Se
questo non viene fatto ne può derivare un grave pericolo
per l’utente.

ISTRUZIONI SPECIFICHE PER LA
SICUREZZA
ATTENZIONE!
Alcunitipidilegnoeprodottisimiliallegno,inparticolarel’MDF
(Fibra a media densità) possono generare polvere in grado
di nuocere alla salute. Si consiglia quindi di utilizzare una
maschera di tipo approvato e provvista di filtri sostituibili quando
siusaesipuliscequestamacchina.
Verificare sempre che la spina degli elettroutensili venga
disinserita dalla presa elettrica quando prima di eseguire la
manutenzioneeprimadiapportaremodifiche.
Prima di azionare per la prima volta questa macchina, controllare
diavermontatocorrettamentelelame.
Prima di iniziare a piallare, lasciare che la macchina raggiunga
lapienavelocità.
Osservarelamacchina,perescluderechevibritroppo.Incaso
di eccessiva vibrazione, la lama potrebbe essere montata male,
oppurelatestaditagliopotrebberisultaresbilanciata.
Nonlasciaremailamacchinaincustoditadopoaverlaaccesa.
Lasciare che la macchina si fermi completamente e disinserirla
dall’alimentazioneprimadilasciarlaincustodita.
Munirsi sempre di occhiali di sicurezza quando si usa la
piallatrice.
Non utilizzare mai questa macchina senza le protezioni di
sicurezzainposizione.
Noneseguiremaipassatepiùprofondedi2,5mm.
Controllare che il pezzo in lavorazione non presenti chiodi o
altri corpi estranei che potrebbero danneggiare le lame della
piallatrice.
Ipezzidalavorarenondevonoesserepiùcortidi355mm,più
strettidi19mm,oppurepiùlarghidi254mmomenospessidi
25mm.
Non mettere mai le dita nell’imbuto di raccolta della polvere con
la macchina in funzione: le lame di taglio ruotano ad altissima
velocità.
Mettersi a lato della macchina, in modo da poter eseguire
l’operazione senza doversi sporgere sopra la macchina, e
senzadoversispostaredurantelaprocedura.
Installare la macchina su una superficie stabile e a livello, prima
diavviarel’operazione.
COLLOCAZIONE
ATTENZIONE! Non usare la macchina senza prima
appoggiarla.
Almomentodideciderelaposizionedifissaggiodellamacchina,
considerare la lunghezza del pezzo da piallare. Dovrebbe
esservi spazio sufficiente per consentire un’introduzione sicura
del pezzo nella macchina e un’area adeguata in corrispondenza
dell’uscita dalla macchina, per la sicura uscita del pezzo
lavorato.
La macchina va fissata ad un banco stabile di lavoro, con
l’ausilio di dadi e bulloni esagonali da 10mm e di lunghezza
adeguata a garantire un saldo bloccaggio della macchina sul
banco(Fig.2).
MONTAGGIO (FIGG. 3 - 4)
Fissare la manovella di regolazione dell’altezza sul perno
presente sulla calotta superiore della macchina, stringendo la
viteatestacroce(Fig.3).
Verificare che i rulli di introduzione e di uscita siano posizionati
inmodocorrettoepossanoruotareliberamente(Fig.4).
Se si usano rulli supplementari di sostegno, collocarli all’altezza
giusta e a circa metà della lunghezza del materiale da piallare,
distantidallatodiintroduzioneediuscitadellamacchina.Per
esempio, se si intende tagliare un materiale lungo 3 metri,
posizionare i rulli supplementari di sostegno a 1,5 metri dal lato
diintroduzioneediuscitadellamacchina.
COME AVVIARE E FERMARE LA MACCHINA (FIG. 5)
INTERRUTTORE ACCESO/SPENTO A ZERO VOLT
Questa macchina è dotata di un “interruttore a zero volt”,
che in caso di interruzione della corrente oppure se si stacca
la spina dalla presa elettrica prima di spegnere la macchina,
impedisce alla macchina di ripartire inavvertitamente quando
tornalacorrente oquandosiricollegalaspinaallapresa.La

macchina, infatti, riparte solo dopo averla riaccesa premendo il
suointerruttoreacceso/spento.
FUNZIONAMENTO
Prima di eseguire un taglio, lasciare che la lama giunga alla
pienavelocità.
Se la macchina genera rumori o vibrazioni inconsuete,
FERMARLA immediatamente, indagare sulla causa del

SOSTITUZIONE DELLE LAME
NB: Fare sempre attenzione nel maneggiare le lame: le lame
della piallatrice sono affilate anche quando hanno perso il filo e
sonodaaffilareosostituire.
ESTRAZIONE DELLE LAME (FIGG. 7 - 10)
Quando occorre cambiare le lame, sostituire simultaneamente
entrambelelameemontarelameditipoidentico.Utilizzaresolo
lamedeltipoconsigliatodalproduttore.
Togliere la calotta del dispositivo di raccolta dei trucioli estraendo
le4vitidifermoelerondelle(Fig.7).
AVVERTENZA: Spegnere sempre la macchina e disinserire la
spina dalla presa elettrica prima di procedere alla pulizia, alla
manutenzioneoallasostituzionedellelame.
Allentarei6bullonifermalamaconl’appositachiavefornita(Fig.
8).Oraestrarrelalamainsiemeallasuapiastradifissaggio(Fig.
9).Staccarelalamadallasuapiastradifissaggio(Fig.10/A).
Ora ruotare con cura l’alberino di 180° e ripetere la procedura
ancheperl’altralama.
RIMONTAGGIO DELLE LAME (FIG. 10/B)
Prima di rimontare le lame, accertarsi che tutte le superfici di
contatto e i fori filettati siano puliti e non presentino polvere o
corpiestranei.
Per rimontare le lame, invertire la procedura di estrazione
suddetta.
AFFILATURA DELLE LAME
NB: Per via delle dimensioni delle lame, si consiglia di rivolgersi
adun’aziendaspecializzatanell’affilaturaprofessionale.
SOSTITUZIONE DELLE SPAZZOLE DI CARBONIO
(FIGG.11 - 12)
Le spazzole di carbonio vanno sempre sostituite in coppia.
Quando le spazzole si consumano o si danneggiano e occorre
cambiarle, individuare i due cappelli di protezione ai lati della
sede del motore (Fig. 11). Ora svitare i cappelli ed estrarre
le spazzole consumate. Montare le nuove spazzole dal kit di
riservaindotazione,poirimettereicappelliprotettivi(Fig.12).
SOSTITUZIONE DELLA CINGHIA (FIGG. 13 - 15)
La cinghia di trasmissione si trova dietro la calotta laterale sul
latodellamanovelladiregolazionedell’altezza.
Toglierelamanovelladiregolazionedell’altezza.Toglierele4viti
esagonalichefissanolacalottasuperiore(Fig.13)esollevare
lacalottasuperioreinsiemealleduecalottelaterali.
Ora rimettere la manovella sul perno di sollevamento e sollevare
ilpiùpossibileilgruppopiallafinoafarlousciredalledueviti
senza fine. Togliere nuovamente la manovella e sfilare verso
l’altoilgruppopiallafinoatoglierlodalle4guidecilindriche(Fig.
14).
Spostare la cinghia staccandola dalla puleggia piccola, facendo
pressione dal lato e ruotando contemporaneamente l’alberino
(Fig.15).
IMPORTANTE!Poichél’alberinocontienelelame,siconsiglia
diindossareguantiidonei.
ATTENZIONE! Fare attenzione e non lasciare che le dita
rimanganobloccatefralacinghiaelapuleggia.
Per montare una nuova cinghia, invertire la procedura
suddetta.
Verificare che tutte le scanalature della cinghia siano inserite
nellescanalaturedientrambelepulegge.
Ora rimontare il gruppo pialla e la calotta superiore insieme
alle due calotte laterali invertendo le operazioni sopra indicate,
controllandodistringeretutteleviti.
IMPORTANTE:
A titolo di precauzione, quando si avvia per la prima volta la
macchina dopo aver cambiato una cinghia o una lama, lasciarla

LOCATION
WARNING!Thismachineshouldnotbeused“freestanding”.
When deciding on a suitable location for this machine
consideration must be given to the maximum length of material
tobeplaned.Thereshouldbeenoughclearancetoallowthe
work piece to be fed into the machine safely and sufficient
clearance at the out feed end of the machine to allow the work
piecetoberemovedsafely.Thismachinemustbemountedon
a solid stable workbench using 10mm hex Nuts and Bolts of a
suitable length to ensure secure fastening to your workbench
(Pic.2).
ASSEMBLY (PICS.3&4)
Attachtheheightadjustmenthandletothepinonthetopcover
ofthemachineandtightenthecrossheadbold(Pic.3).Ensure
that the in feed and out feed rollers are positioned correctly
andarefreetorotate(Pic.4).Ifauxiliarysupportrollersareto
be used, they should be positioned at the correct height, and
approximately half the length of the material being planed, away
fromtheinfeed and outfeedsideofthemachinee.g..If the
materialbeingplanedis3mtrlong,theauxiliarysupportrollers
shouldbepositioned1.5mtrfromtheinfeedandoutfeedside
ofthemachine.
STARTING AND STOPPING (PIC.5)
NO VOLTS EMERGENCY STOP SWITCH
Thismachineisfittedwitha“NoVoltsSwitch”.Intheeventof
a mains power failure or if the mains plug is removed from the
mainssupply socketbeforethe machineisswitched off. The
machinewillnotre-startwithoutwarningwhenthemainssupply
is restored or the mains plug is re-connected to the mains
supply, until the machine is switched ON at the ON/OFF switch
fittedtothemachine.Theswitchisalsofittedwithanemergency
stopcover.Tostartthemachine,lifttheemergencystopcover
(Pic.5)(5.1)andpressgreentheONbutton(Pic.5)(5.2).Tostop
themachine,presstheredOFFbutton(Pic.5)(5.3).Intheevent
of an emergency, hit the emergency stop cover (Pic.5) (5.4),
this will switch the machine OFF and will mechanically lock the
emergency stop cover in place preventing the machine from
beingswitchedonuntilthemechanicallockhasbeenreleased.

To release the mechanical lock depress the emergency button
andslideitupwards(Pic.5)(5.5).
OPERATION
Beforemakingacut,allowthemachinetorunuptofullspeed.If
the machine makes any unusual noise or vibrates excessively,
STOP the machine immediately and investigate the cause
andrectify.IfthecausecannotbeidentifiedDONOTusethe
machineandcontactyournearestservicecentre.
Measurethethicknessofthematerialtobeplaned.Usingthe
height adjustment handle and the height scale set the machine
to the thickness of the material (Pic.6). Before offering the
material into the machine carefully check the material for Nails
Screws or any other foreign material which could damage the
bladesandinjuretheoperator.
For the initial cut it is recommended that the depth of cut should
be 1mm.Additional cuts can be made up to a maximum of
2.5mmuntilthedesiredthicknessisachieved.
TIP: Taking smaller cuts will prolong the life of the blades and
themachineandwillresultinabetterfinish.
POWERED IN FEED ROLLER
Thismachineisfittedwithapoweredinfeedroller.Itisimportant
that you allow the machine to reach the desired speed then
carefullyfeedthematerialintothemachine.Allowthepoweredin
feedrollertodrawthetimberintothemachine.DoNotforcethe
work piece as this could overload the machine causing damage
tothemotor.Supporttheworkpieceatalltimesespeciallyat
thestartandendofthecut,thiswillpreventanunevenfinish.If
the work piece is long, ensure that it is supported as it exits the
machine.Whenthedesiredthicknessisachieved,switchoffthe
machineandremovetheplugfromthemainssupply.
Whenfinishedwiththemachineremoveallshavingsanddust
from the machine and surrounding work area and dispose of
them safely as an accumulation of shavings and dust can cause
afireHazard.
BLADE REPLACEMENT
Note: Be always careful when handling with blades: planer
blades are sharp even if they are not planned and require
sharpeningorreplacement.
BLADE REMOVAL (PICS.7 TO 10)
When the blades require replacing, both blades must be
replacedatthesametimeandmustbeofthesametype.Only
bladesrecommendedbythesuppliershouldbeused.
Removethechipcollectorcoverbyremovingthe4xretaining
screwsandwashers(Pic.7).
WARNING: Ensure that the machine is switched off and
disconnected from the mains supply before carrying out any
cleaningmaintenanceorbladereplacement.
Loosen the 6x blade retaining bolts using the wrench provided
(Pic.8).Removethebladecompletewiththeblademounting
plate(Pic.9).Separatethebladefromtheblademountingplate
(Pic.10/A).Carefullyrotatethespindlethrough180°andrepeat
theprocessfortheotherblade.
REFITTING THE BLADES (PIC. 10/B)
Before re-assembly of the blades ensure that all mating
surfaces and threaded holes are clean and free from dust and
foreign objects
Replacementofthebladesisareversalofthebladeremoval
procedure.
BLADE SHARPENING
Note: due to the size of the blades it is recommended that
the services of a professional blade sharpening company be
employed.
CARBON BRUSH REPLACEMENT (PICS.11&12)
Carbonbrushesmustalwaysbereplacedasapair.Onlyuse
brushesrecommendedbythesupplier.
When the brushes become worn or damaged and require
replacing.
Locate the two brush caps located on either side of the motor
housingsee(Pic.11).
Unscrew the covers and remove the worn brushes, replace
the brushes with the spare set provided and replace the cover
(Pic.12).
BELT REPLACEMENT (PICS.13&15)
The drive belt is located behind the lateral cover on the side of
theheightadjustmenthandle.Removetheheightadhustment
handle.Removethe 4 hexagonalscrewsfixingthe top cover
(Pic.13)andliftthetopcovertogetherwithtwolateralcovers.
Replacethehandleontheliftingpinandlifttheplaninggroupas
muchaspossibletoremoveitfromtwowormscrews.Remove
the handle again and extract the planing group from 4 cylindrical
guides(Pic.14).
Ease the belt off the small pulley by using side pressure and
rotatingthespindleatthesametime(Pic.15).
IMPORTANT! as the spindle houses the blades it is
recommendedthatsuitableglovesareused.
CAUTION!Careshouldbetakentoensurethatfingersdonot
becometrapped betweenthebelt and pulley. Fittingthenew
beltis a reversaloftheabove procedure. Ensurethatallthe
groovesinthebeltarelocatedinthegroovesinbothpulleys.
Now replace the planing group and top cover together with two
lateral covers, inverting the operations, and ensure that all the
screwsaretightened.
IMPORTANT
NOTE: Asaprecautionwhenfirststartingthemachineafterbelt
orbladereplacement,allowthemachinetorunfor5-10seconds
beforeuse.Ifthemachinemakesanunusualnoiseorvibrates,
