Wall-hung gas condensing boilers
Cascade connection

1. Purpose : points to check
Observe the following points for the cascade connection of GMR 6160 boilers.
Remark: a boiler cascade includes :
- A master boiler: GMR 6160 with OEtroCom-3 control panel,
- One or more GMR 6160 follower boiler(s) with OEtroCom-3 or OEtroCom-2 control
panel.
2. Check the software versions of the circuit boards
Check the following points:
•Circuit boards SCB-10 (OEtroCom-3) must be in version 1.04 or higher.
•All SCB-10 circuit boards must be at the same version.
•Burner management circuit boards CU-GH06 must be in version 2.1 or higher.
•All CU-GH06 circuit boards must be at the same version.
3. Remove the 2 jumpers from the CB-01 circuit boards
1. Switch off the power supply,
2. Open the control panel to get access the circuit boards,
3. Remove the 2 jumpers from each of the CB-01 circuit boards in the cascade.

4. Connect the BUS cables
1. Connect the BUS cables Bbetween the connector X5 of the master boiler Aand the
connectors X9 / X10 of the CB-01 boards of the follower boilers,
2. Fit the terminating connector C to the connector X4 of the master boiler A,
3. Fit the terminating connector D to the connector X10 of the last of the follower boilers.
5. Check the parameters
Set the cascade master boiler parameters (boiler with OEtroCom-3 control panel) as required.
Access : Press menu key →Installation Setup →SCB-10 →Cascade management B
→Parameters, counters, signals →Parameters:

Enable master func
Set to enable (1) for the master device.
On follower boilers, this parameter must be set to deactivate (0).
NP005
Cascade Permutation
By default the master boiler is numbered 1, but this can be changed with this
parameter.
NP006
Cascade Type
Select the cascade type: traditional or parallel.
Management of the cascade of boilers by successive addition or in parallel
(simultaneous operation)
0 = Traditional (factory set) (Successive addition of additional boilers)
1 = Parallel: All boilers start up at the same time.
NP007
CascTOutsideHeatParl
Outdoor temperature that starts all cascaded appliances at the same time. Factory
setting: 10 °C.
NP008
CascTPostRunGenePump
Minimum overrun time of the appliance pump.
Factory setting: 4 minutes.
NP009
CascInterStageTime
Waiting time before starting or stopping cascaded devices.
Factory setting: 4 minutes. Setting: 1 min - 60 min

Type of cascade algorithm: 0: temperature dependent (factory)
1: power-dependent
NP012
CascPowerRiseTime
Time available to reach the desired temperature.
Factory setting: 1 (value multiplied by 10).

CascForceStop Pprim
Activation (1) or deactivation (2) of the cascade's primary pump.
AP111
Can line length
Cable length for the S-BUS. Select the value that is equal to or larger than the actual
cable length.

6. Check the software versions
To check the software version of the boards:
a) Go to the Information menu on the control panel
On OEtroCom-3 control panel:
-Access the menus by pressing the key
-Select Informationmenu with the rotary button
-Select CU-GH06 board menu
-Select and validate parameter Software Version to view the CU-GH06 version.
-To go back press key
-Select and validate SCB-10 board menu with the rotary button
-Select and validate parameter Software Version to view the SCB-10 board version.
On OEtroCom-2 control panel :
-Access the menus by pressing simultaneously the two keys on the right,
-Select the Information Menu and access the menu with key
-Select the desired PCB using the keys +/ -
-Confirm the selection with ,
-Scroll through the parameters using the + key:
the software version appears at the end of the list.
-Return to the main menu by pressing the key.
b) Or check the label on the electronic board
CU-GH06 board:
SCB-10 board (OEtroCom-3) :
Version 2.1 at least
SCB-10_E
Version 1.04 at least

7. Spare parts
Reminder : in a cascade :
All SCB-10 boards must be at the same version (at least 1.04 or higher)
and
All CU-GH06 boards must be at the same version (at least 2.1 or higher).
