Follow operating instructions
All operating instructionsmust be followed.
Power Sources
This set shouldbe operated only from the typeof power source indicated
on the serial/modelplate or specification label. If you are not sureof the
type of electricalpower supplied to your home, consultyour dealer or
local power company. For otherunits designed to operate on batteries
or another powersource, refer to the operating instructions.
Grounding or Polarization
This set isequipped with a polarized ACpower cord plug
(a plug havingone blade widerthan the other),or with a three-wire
grounding type plug(a plug havinga third pinfor grounding).
Polarized AC Power Cord Plug
The plug willfit into the power outlet onlyone way. This is asafety
feature. If you are unable toinsert the plug fully into theoutlet, try
reversing the plug.If the plug still fails tofit, contact your electrician
to have asuitable outlet installed. Do not defeatthe purpose of the
polarized plug byforcing it in.
Wall Outlet
Do not usea poor fitting outlet. Insert the plug fully intothe outlet.

Wiring

Do not hitthe panel. Be careful to preventfrom getting hurt by broken
glass pieces incase the panel breaks.
Cleaning ACPlug
Clean theAC plug regularly. If theplug is coveredwith dust and it picks
up moisture, itsinsulation may deteriorateand result infire. Unplug the
AC power plugand clean it regularly.
Cleaning the Display
Remember to unplugthe ACcord from the AC outletbefore cleaning the
display unit. And do notuse liquid or aerosol cleaners toclean the display.
-Minimize contactwith the LCDscreen surface sincethe special
coating applied maybe affected. Use a drysoft cloth when removing
dust from thescreen.
-Do notuse alcohol, benzine,thinner, etc.,as it may damage the
coating or causeLCD screen deterioration.
-Do notallow the LCD screen to comein contact with volatile
compounds such asinsecticide. Alsonever let LCDscreen come in
contact with rubberor plastic productsfor an extended period of time.
This type ofcontact may damagethe coating, orcause the LCD screen
to deteriorate.

Important Safety Precautions
Stand
Do not placethe set on an unstable care,stand, table of shelf. The set
may fall, causingserious injury to a child oran adult and serious damage
to the set. Use only acart or stand for the specific model of TV. No part
of the TVset should overhangany edge ofthe TV card or stand; any
overhanging edge isa safety hazard.
Accessories
Secure the displayunit from fallingdown. If the display unit isnot
secured properly,it may falland cause injury. Take measures againstit
using a standor other apparatuson the floorwall in the specified
manner, referringto the operating instructions supplied withyour stand.
Ventilation
The slots andopenings in the media receiver unitand display unit are
provided for necessaryventilation. To ensure reliableoperation of the
set, and toprotect it fromoverheating, these slotsand openings must
never be blockedor covered. Unlessproper ventilation isprovided, the
unit may gatherdust and getdirty. Forproper ventilation, observe the
following:
-Do noinstall the unit turned backwards orsideways.
-Do notinstall the unit turned over orupside down.
-Do notcover or block these vents andopenings located on the top and
back of thedisplay. Inadequateventilation may causeoverheating

-Do noplace set near or over radiatoror heat register, or whereit is
exposed to directsunlight.
-Never installthe display unitas indicated inthe picture on the right.

Carrying the setrequires two or more people. Ifyou carry the set in

Never insert objects or spill liquid
into the display unit
Never insert anyobject into the display unit throughopenings or spill
liquid on thedisplay unit. High voltage flows inthe display unit, and
inserting an objectcan cause electric shock and/or shortinternal parts.

Do not installthis unit outdoors. If the unit is exposed to rain, it may
result in fireor electric shock. If the unit is exposed to direct sunlight,
the unit mayheat up and it may damagethe unit.

When the unitdisplays an abnormalcondition ,any noticeable
abnormality in thedisplay unit indicatesthat the unitneeds servicing.

In case thedisplay unit needsreplacement parts, makesure that the

LT42HVi's most innovativeelement gives you an
option to personalizethe TV and speaker system. Featuring a speaker
mounting system poweredby 25-watt stereo amplifier, thepanel's
speaker can bemounted vertically oneach side ofthe TV, horizontally
at the baseof the TV, or completelyremoved and placed in a drawerfor
safekeeping if youdesire to connect the TV to a separatehome theater
system. Anewly designed standis detachable if you want towall mount

Rear Panel
AC IN power cord connects here.
HDMI 1/ HDMI 2 and VGA Port This display
includes 2 HDMI inputs which can receive digital
video signals through the interface for the display
of high quality digital video signals. Both HDMI
ports are HDCP (High Bandwidth Digital Content
Protection) compliant and is fully compatible
with video equipment that features the HDCP
function. The VGA input can be used for analog
RGB signals from a HD Receiver or personal
computer. Resolutions supported are VGA,
SVGA, XGA and WXGA. The HDMI and VGA
ports share the one Audio L/R inputs.
Service Port is reserved for manufacturer use.
Incorrect use may damage the Display.
Video 1,2 These inputs can be used for the
connection of a VCR, Super VHS (S-VHS) VCR,
DVD player, or other video devices to the TV.
There is a Video and an S-Video input for Video1
and video 2. When both inputs are used
simultaneously on Video 1, only the S-Video
input will be recognized. Same behavior for
Video 2. The display will automatically detect
the input being used.
NOTE: The S-Video input has a better quality of
picture than a composite Video signal.
Audio Out The Audio Output sends the TV's
connected audio signals to an A/V receiver or
other equipment. Display features a R/L stereo .
Antenna (ANT) Antenna receives signals from
VHF/ UHF antennas or a cable system.
DTV Digital Audio Cable Input
The DTV input receives digital audio signals
from an ATSC digital receiver and broadcasts
programs on VHF/UHF TV signals.
Component 1, 2 These inputs can be used for the
connection of A/V equipment with component
video outputs, such as a DVD player, Digital
Satellite Receiver, or compatible Video Game
System.
AV-light lights up during connection process for
user viewing assistance.
To Activate: Press "Source" & "Vol+"
simultaneously to turn AV-light on. It will
automatically turn off after 60 seconds.

Connecting the Power Cord

To activate theAV-Light, simultaneously press the Source and Vol+ buttons
