The blower must not be externally insulated and must have sufficient air space (minimum area is 50cm2) to prevent
the blower from overheating. Surrounding air should be able to reach the blower enclosure.
Pipe length must not exceed 5 metres, doing so will reduce the performance of the blower. Ensure the blower is on
a stable footing and mounted securely before operating (to prevent personal injury).
All glued fittings and pipe work should be allowed to dry to atmosphere for 24 hours before closing installation.
Failure to follow this procedure could cause injury or installation failure.
The blower must be isolated from the potential for water to enter the blower outlet as failure may occur. For longer
product life, Onga recommends the use of a weather-proof protective housing for outdoor installations. The
protective housing should extend below the blower air intake by at least 150mm and provide adequate ventilation.
BLOWER APPLICATION
Your Onga Spa Blower is designed for use with air management systems in
residential spa baths or portable spa pools only. Use within commercial (communal)
spa baths or spa pools may result in rapid wear and tear.
It should not be used for any other purpose without prior consent from the
distributor.
The Whispair and WhispairPlus airswitch models are designed to operate
with the Onga range of air buttons.

- Unless already fitted by your spa bath supplier, Onga recommend the
installation to follow either Diagram 1 or 2, dependant upon the blower
positioning.
- Place the Whispair blower rubber connection over the PVC pipe. DO
NOT glue the spa blower rubber connection to the PVC pipe.
- Tighten the hose clamp (supplied), be careful not to overtighten.
- Fix blower to mounting frame or base.
- Insert the blower power lead into a correctly rated wall socket.
- Allow adequate access for servicing blower & piping.
AIRSWITCH MODELS
-A roll of 6 metre air tube is supplied (Australia / New Zealand models only),
attach one end of the tube onto the nipple of the air button fitted on the spa bath,
attach the other end of the air line onto the blower (remove Left-hand filter pad;
insert air tube through the slot provided; insert air tube onto air switch; replace
filter pad).
Trim excess tube. Do not wrap around pipework.

OPERATION
Pre-Startup Checks
1. Check hose clamp at blower outlet is tight and blower is firmly connected
to the outlet pipe.
2. Check that all Airjet connecting hoses are securely fitted at Airjets and
manifold. Ensure that the tubing/hose is not kinked.
3. Check Airjet caps are clean and free of debris, such as tile grout and
plaster.
4. Fill spa with water and check Airjet connections for leaks which may
have developed as a result of transit or handling damage.
Manual Version
Your Onga Whispair may be operated directly from
your power outlet or alternatively from a touchpad/
controller fitted by your spa provider.

OFF.
BLOWER INSTALLATION (Continued)
Operating your Whispair

8
Operating your WhispairPlus
Airswitch Models
1. Ensure power outlet is switched ON.
The WhispairPlus works on a 3 step sequence of the designated air
button:
PRESS 1. ON; continuous Vari-speed cycle begins.
•Highest speed to lowest speed to highest speed again.
•4 speed steps at 8 second intervals.
•High to Low = 32 seconds.
PRESS 2. preferred airflow is selected and maintained.
PRESS 3. OFF. Blower stops and moves into sanitation mode (Spa
bath models only).
Press the designated air button fitted to your spa to turn the
WhispairPlus ON.
The vari-speed technology incorporated into your WhispairPlus allows
maximum air flow at initial startup. Your WhispairPlus automatically
ramps down to a light relaxing air flow and then ramps up to the maximum
air flow. This vari-flow cycle is continuous and repeats itself
approximately every 30 seconds.
2. Your choice of air flow can be obtained by simply pressing the
designated air button a second time when the air flow is at your
preferred setting.
3. Press the designated air button a third time to stop the WhispairPlus.
The inbuilt technology returns the settings to the start sequence again.
Sanitation ( Spa bath versions only)
Your WhispairPlus has been programmed to aid hygiene.
Once the WhispairPlus is turned off by the dedicated air button, it will auto-
matically start approximately 10 minutes later (allows time for the water to drain
from the bath) to expel water from the air lines. This sanitary purge will last for
approximately 30 seconds and then shut down completely. You can manually
stop the purge cycle by pressing the dedicated air button. Your WhispairPlus
returns to the standby mode, waiting for your next spa experience.
Note: the WhispairPlus sanitary purge begins at the softest airflow and
increases to the maximum airflow minimising the water splash purged from the
jets..

9
Operating your WhispairPlus (Continued)
ThermalAir ( Spa bath version only – where fitted)
Some models incorporate ThermalAir to regulate the temperature of the air
flow.
ThermalAir technology automatically adjusts itself to maximise air flow com-
fort levels.
Note: initial air flow may be cool air remaining in the air tubes. Extended periods
of operation may reduce the bathwater temperature. We recommend the use of
an Onga HOT pump in conjunction with dual hydro/air systems.
Automatic Timer
The WhispairPlus has an in-built automatic timer that switches the blower off
after 30 minutes of operation to prevent unnecessary nuisance, wear and tear on
the product.
When the automatic timer turns the blower off, the sanitation mode will begin
within the prescribed time.

10
SERVICE & MAINTENANCE
Blower service should be performed by suitably qualified personnel.
If the power supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or
it’s service agent.
Ensure the power is switched off and the unit unplugged from the power supply
prior to removing the blower for service to prevent personal injury. Your
Whispair blower has special filters to reduce debris entering the blower and
affecting performance.
Periodically check the Whispair air intake filters and ensure they are clear of
obstructions. Remove and clean the filters if dirty (used compressed air to blow
out debris). Replace filters prior to operation.
WhispairPlus vari-speed & sanitised models
The WhispairPlus has an in-built red LED that communicates several fault conditions.
The LED is located within the left hand air intake (viewed from the pipe connection
end). When lit, the LED can be viewed through the foam filter pad or more brightly
beneath the filter pad.
A solid light indicates worn motor brushes requiring the complete purchase of a new
blower.
A single flash indicates the motor has stopped on over-temperature. The unit can be
restarted when the temperature has been reduced.
A two flash sequence indicates low voltage power supply conditions. The unit can be
restarted only when the power supply is within limits > 200V.
A three flash sequence indicates high voltage power supply conditions. The unit can
be restarted only when the power supply is within limits < 260V.

11
TROUBLE SHOOTING
If servicing of the unit is required at anytime, a service record should be kept
listing details of the problem.
Onga stands by its quality products, however if a fault occurs and cannot be
rectified by following the trouble shooting guide on page 12, please contact
Onga on 1800 664 266 (Australia) or 0800 664 269 (New Zealand) where our
locator service will direct you to your nearest sales stockist or service agent.
Please be aware that a service fee will be applicable if a fault occurs
other than that as described in the product guarantee as being due to
defects in materials or faulty manufacture.
Blower service should be performed by suitably qualified personnel.
Always unplug power lead prior to service to prevent personal injury.
The electrical components of Whispair are non-servicable, fair wear and tear
will result in the need for complete unit replacement.

13
SAFE USE OF YOUR SPA
Your air management system provides you with a gentle overall hydromassage.
The massage effect is obtained by injecting warm air through air jets into the
bath water. Using the blower for too long a period at too high a water tem-
perature will cause drowsiness. When you first begin to use your spa, switch
the blower on for a maximum of five minutes. Regulate the water temperature
to a moderately warm level. These levels can be later increased for additional
massaging effects.
Your physiological response to a hot massage spa depends on your age, health
and medical history. If you develop a headache or become dizzy or nauseous,
get out of the spa at once and cool off under the shower. Seek medical
assistance if the symptoms persist.
Consult your doctor or physician before you use the spa for physical therapy
of an injury or disorder. Do not take a spa without your doctor’s consent if
you are ill or pregnant, or if you suffer from high blood pressure, heart dis-
ease, or other health problems. Never take a spa while under the influence of
medication, drugs or alcohol.
Children or infirm persons should not use the spa unattended. Your
spa water temperature should not exceed 40oC (104oF).
