DANGER
This stove uses a liquid pressurized gas (LPG) canister
that is highly flammable and explosive. Improper or unsafe
use can result in accidental fire and explosions which can
cause serious injury or possible death.
• FOR OUTDOOR USE ONLY
• Listen and smell for leaking gas. LPG is invisible and may
be odorless, as its strong odorant can fade over time. As a
result, leaks are not always detectable by smell.
• If you suspect that there is a leak, do not use the stove or
canister. To locate and stop the leakage, move stove to a
well-ventilated area outdoors away from any ignition
source. Check that the stove and fuel canister connection
is secure and tight.
• Do not leave this appliance unattended while the appliance
is in operation. Keep children and pets away from the appli-
ance at all times.

WARNING
Risk of fire and explosion when using fire to detect gas
leaks.
• If there is a leak from your appliance (smell of gas) and you
cannot stop the gas flow, remove the appliance to a
well-ventilated location away from any ignition source.
• Only check for leaks using soapy water. Do not try to
detect leaks using a flame.
• Check the seals before connecting a new fuel canister to
the stove. Do not use the stove if seals are damaged or

If you expose the fuel canister to high heat, the canister
could explode or leak.
• Keep stove and fuel canister away from other heat sources.
• Follow all warnings on fuel canister regarding use and
storage.
• Do not attach or remove canister near high heat, open
flames, direct sunlight, other ignition sources or where
temperature of canister exceeds 50°C (120°F).
• Only use fuel canisters which are intended to be used with
this stove.
INSTRUCTION FOR USE
To minimize any risk of serious injury or possible death, follow
the instructions and safety precautions in this manual. Only
use the stove as described in this manual.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (STOVE ONLY):
Fuel: Use only with Optimus gas cartridges in compliance
with EN417 (for Australia: 50% butane, 25% isobutane, 25%
propane) (max. 450g). IT MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO ATTEMPT

SET UP STOVE
1. Fold out the control valve handle and make sure that the
valve is fully closed. FIGURE [3]
2. Fold out pot supports. FIGURE [3]
3. Check that o-ring between the stove and the gas cartridge
is in place and in good condition before connecting stove
to the gas cartridge. FIGURE [1]
CONNECT STOVE TO GAS
CANISTER
1. Hold onto the stove and screw the correct gas canister
counterclockwise tightly. FIGURE [4] Tighten by hand only
and be careful not to damage the threads when you
connect the gas canister.
2. Always keep the gas canister in an upright position while
connecting it to the stove.
3. Ensure that the stove is screwed all the way to the bottom
of the thread.
4. Make sure the stove is in a stable position so it will not tip
over.
5. Allow plenty of free space around the stove, at least 1.25m
(4ft) on each side and 1.5m (4.5ft) above it.
6. Keep stove area clear and free from combustible materials,
gasoline and other flammable vapors and liquids.

WARNING
Risk of burning or serious injuries due to gas leakage
hazard.
• This appliance should only be used on a horizontal surface
in an open air situation with natural ventilation without
stagnant areas, where gas leakages and products of
combustions are rapidly dispersed by wind and natural
convection.
• Never light the stove if you detect a hissing sound or the
smell of gas after tightening the canister. The gas has an
additive with a foul smell. Never use a stove that smells of
gas.
• Do not use the stove if it has damages or worn seals. Do
not use the stove if it is leaking, damaged or if it does not
operate properly.
• Never over-tighten gas canister when connected to the
stove. Overtightening can damage stove or canister
causing gas to leak.
• Use extreme caution when using stove in temperatures
below freezing. In freezing temperatures, O-rings can stien
and leak gas.
• Always check for gas leaks before and after lighting the
stove.
• Keep children more than 3m (10ft) away from stove and
fuel.
• Keep highly flammable fabrics away from stove, such as
outdoor clothing, sleeping bags, tents etc.
• When a canister change is necessary, please follow steps
1-4 of this manual carefully.

USE THE STOVE TO COOK
1. Open the control valve approximately one turn counter-
clockwise and light the burner. FIGURE [5] Check that the
flame ring is complete and that the flame is mostly blue and
non-pulsating in normal operation.
2. Adjust the control valve to get the flame you want.
3. If the output is weak, it could mean that the gas is running
out, or that the canister is too cold. Turn o the stove and
let it cool down. Make sure there is no open flame nearby
when changing the gas canister.
4. CAUTION: accessible parts may become very hot. Keep
young children away from the appliance.
WARNING
Overheating and explosion hazards
• Never add a windscreen after the stove is lit.
• Never use a windscreen which fully encloses the gas
canister.
• Keep solid combustibles at least 1.25m (4ft) away from the
top and 1m (3ft) from sides of a burning stove or a stove
that you are in the process of lighting.
• Keep flammable liquids and vapors at least 8m (25ft) away
from the top and sides of a burning stove, or a stove that
you are in process of lighting.
• Never attempt to light a stove if control valve has been left
open. If control valve is left open, close it immediately and
thoroughly ventilate area before lighting stove. Failure to
ventilate area can result in an explosion.
• Never use cookware with a diameter larger than 220mm
(8.5in). The pan plus food must not weigh more than 2kg
(4.4lbs) combined.
• Never place and operate 2 or more stoves together.
• Never operate stove with empty or dry cookware.
• Never use non-Optimus heat reflectors or windshields.

TURN OFF, COOL AND PACK STOVE
1. Turn o the stove by turning the control valve handle fully
clockwise and double-check that the flame is completely
extinguished.
2. Allow stove to cool properly.
3. Disconnect the gas canister.
4. It is normal for a small amount of gas to fizz out when you
unscrew the gas canister.
5. Fold in pot supports and place stove in stu sack.
6. How to check if the gas container is empty: Gently shake
the gas container - if movement of liquid is sensed or
audible then gas is present in the container.
CAUTION
Risk of burning due to incorrect handling and storage.
Storing gas canisters near any heat or ignition source, or
where temperatures exceed 50°C (120°F) can result in the
canister exploding.
Never move a burning or hot stove. Allow stove to cool for at
least 10min before moving it.
Never transport or store the stove with the gas canister
connected to it.
Always store gas canisters in a well-ventilated area away from
any possible heat or ignition source such as: water heaters,
stoves, pilot lights, furnaces or where temperatures exceed
50°C (120°F).
MAINTENANCE
Before each use, check the O-ring where the stove connects to
the gas canister. FIGURE [1] Leakage may result if the O-ring is
not in place, or if it is worn or damaged. Replace the O-ring by
teasing it out with a tool such as the blunt end of a sewing
needle. Never use a sharp or pointed object that can damage
the seal surfaces. Fit the new O-ring with care to avoid
damaging it. Only use original Optimus O-rings (Art. Nr.
8019247) for this purpose. Do not modify the stove. This
appliance must only be serviced by an authorized person.

For major repairs send stove back to Optimus. This appliance is
not designed to be serviced by the user, and contains no user
serviceable parts
Addendum for Elektra FE Cook set
Your Crux Lite stove is including a handheld piezo ignitor.
In order to ignite your stove, open the control valve handle and
bring the piezo ignitor close to the burner head. Make sure it is
pointing upwards. Push the green button to produce a spark in
order to ignite the burner. FIGURE [6] Push several times if
ignition does not happen immediately. Please note that Piezo
ignitors are not reliable at altitudes above 2000m.

• Never have your face above the stove when igniting it.
Possible flare ups could cause serious injuries.
Addendum for Elektra FE Cook set:
Your Crux Lite stove also includes a Terra weekend HE pot and
a windshield to increase the stove`s performance and
eciency.
To use the clip-on windshield take both halves and bend them
slightly outwards. Clip the opening at the bottom around the
valve neck of the gas canister. Make sure the windshield is
fixed securely. Turn the windshield into the desired direction (to
best block the wind) and make sure the stoves control handle is
easily accessible. FIGURE [7] We recommend to use this
windshield only with the Optimus Crux and Crux Lite gas
stoves and Optimus gas canisters.

• Ensure the stove is securely tightened on the gas canister
before fitting the windshield.
• Always fit the windshield before lighting the stove.
• Never use a pot wider than 130mm (5in) in conjunction with
the Optimus Clip-on Windshield.
• Always leave a gap of approximately 10mm (0.4in) between
pot and windshield to avoid overheating.
• Never use stoves on which the flames are pointing
sideways in combination with this windshield.
• Never operate stove with empty or dry cookware (This also
stands for the Crux Lite Solo Cook system).

Optimus provides a 2-year limited warranty against
manufacturing defects for the original stove purchaser. Proof
of purchase is required for this warranty to be valid. This
warranty does not cover damage due to accident, improper
use or modifications.

it to your dealer or contact Katadyn. Clean food and dirt from

• Le réchaud Optimus Crux Lite est conçu pour fonctionner
avec des cartouches de gaz Optimus à valve filetée
conforme à la norme EN417 (maximum 450g). Utiliser
d’autres cartouches de gaz peut s’avérer dangereux.
• Vérifiez que le système ne fuit pas (odeur de gaz ou

nu et l’additif odorant perdant parfois de son eet avec le

une fuite de gaz. Pour localiser et neutraliser une fuite,
emportez le réchaud à l’extérieur, dans un endroit bien
aéré, et éloignez-le de toute source d’inflammation. Vérifiez
que le réchaud et la cartouche sont correctement
raccordés.
• Ne pas laisser cet apparail fonctionner sans surveillance.
Veiller à ce que cet appareil soit hors de la portée des
enfants et des animaux domestiques en tout temps.

AVERTISSEMENT

Si elle est exposée à une trop forte chaleur, la cartouche
de gaz peut exploser ou fuir.
• Maintenez le réchaud et la cartouche loin de toute source
de chaleur.
• Respectez les consignes de sécurité relatives à l’utilisation
et au stockage de la cartouche.
• Lorsque vous changez ou raccordez une cartouche,
éloignez-la de toute source d’inflammation (chaleur
excessive, flamme nue, lumière directe du soleil, etc.). La
cartouche ne doit pas être raccordée au réchaud si la
température de celle-ci dépasse 50°C.
• Servez-vous uniquement de cartouches de gaz conçues
spécialement pour être utilisées avec ce réchaud.

SPÉCIFICATIONS TECHNIQUES

isobutane et propane, conforme à la norme EN417 (maximum

INSTALLER LE RÉCHAUD
1. Dépliez la valve de réglage et assurez-vous que l’arrivée de
gaz est bien fermée. ILLUSTRATION [3]
2. Dépliez les bras de support de casseroles ILLUSTRATION [3]
3. Avant de raccorder la cartouche de gaz au réchaud, vérifiez
que le joint torique est en bon état.
RACCORDER LE RÉCHAUD À LA
CARTOUCHE DE GAZ
1. Maintenez le réchaud en place et vissez fermement la
cartouche de gaz Optimus dans le sens inverse des
aiguilles d’une montre. ILLUSTRATION [4] Vissez manuelle-
ment jusqu’à ce que la cartouche soit bien serrée, en
veillant à ne pas endommager le filetage.
2. Maintenez la cartouche de gaz tête en haut lorsque vous la
raccordez au réchaud.
3. Vérifiez que la cartouche soit vissée jusqu’à la fin du pas de
vis.
4. Assurez-vous que le réchaud soit bien stable de façon à ce
qu’il ne se renverse pas.
5. Dégagez la surface autour du réchaud (au moins 1.25m sur
les côtés et 1.5m au-dessus).
6. Le réchaud ne doit jamais être placé à proximité de
matériaux combustibles, d’essence ou de toute autre
liquide ou gaz dégageant des vapeurs inflammables.

AVERTISSEMENT
Risques de brûlure ou de blessure grave due à une fuite
de gaz.
• N’allumez pas le réchaud si vous entendez un siement ou
si vous détectez une odeur de gaz après l’avoir raccordé à
la cartouche. Le gaz contient un additif à l’odeur spécifique
et désagréable. N’utilisez jamais le réchaud si vous sentez
une odeur de gaz.
• N’utilisez pas votre réchaud s’il est endommagé ou s’il ne
fonctionne pas correctement.
• Ne vissez pas la cartouche plus que nécessaire. Un serrage
excessif peut abîmer la cartouche ou le réchaud et
entraîner une fuite de gaz.
• Soyez extrêmement vigilant lorsque vous utilisez le réchaud
à des températures inférieures à 0°C. Au-dessous de 0°C,
les joints toriques peuvent durcir, ce qui peut provoquer
des fuites de gaz.
• Avant et après chaque allumage, vérifiez systématiquement
qu’il n’y ait pas de fuite de gaz.
• Maintenez le réchaud et la cartouche hors de la portée des
enfants (à 3m au minimum).
• N’utilisez jamais le réchaud à proximité de tissus
hautement inflammables (vêtements de randonnée, sacs de
couchage, tentes, etc.).
• Ne laissez jamais un réchaud allumé ou encore chaud sans
surveillance.
• Pour remplacer la cartouche, suivez attentivement les
étapes 1 à 4 de ce mode d’emploi.
CUISINER AVEC LE RÉCHAUD
1. Faites pivoter le robinet de la valve de réglage d’un tour
environ (dans le sens inverse des aiguilles d’une montre),
puis allumez le brûleur. ILLUSTRATION [5] Assurez-vous que
les flammes forment une couronne complète, de couleur
bleue, et que le débit soit constant.
2. Ajustez l’intensité de la flamme à l’aide de la valve de
réglage.

3. Si la flamme est faible, cela peut signifier que le gaz qu’elle
contient est trop froid ou que la cartouche est presque
vide. Éteignez le réchaud et laissez-le refroidir. Lorsque
vous changez la cartouche de gaz, assurez-vous de ne pas
vous trouver à proximité d’une flamme nue.
4. Les parties extérieures du réchaud peuvent devenir
brûlantes. Celui-ci doit être tenu hors de la portée des
enfants, des personnes mentalement diminuées et des
animaux.
AVERTISSEMENT
Risques de surchaue et d’explosion
• N’installez jamais le pare-vent après avoir allumé le
réchaud.
• N’utilisez jamais un pare-vent qui enserre entièrement la
cartouche de gaz.
• Ne placez jamais un réchaud allumé ou en train d’être
allumé à proximité de combustibles solides (au moins
1.25m au dessus et 1m autour).
• Ne placez jamais de liquides ou de vapeurs inflammables
dans un périmètre de 8m autour d’un réchaud allumé ou en
train d’être allumé.
• Ne tentez pas d’allumer le réchaud si la valve de réglage
est restée ouverte. Si la valve est restée ouverte, fermez-la
immédiatement et ventilez bien la pièce avant d’allumer le
réchaud. Si la pièce n’a pas été susamment ventilée,
l’allumage peut provoquer une explosion.
• N’utilisez jamais une casserole dépassant 220mm de
diamètre ou dont le poids total excède 2kg (nourriture
comprise).
• N’utilisez jamais deux réchauds ou plus à proximité les uns
des autres.
• Ne laissez jamais une casserole vide sur un réchaud
allumé. Ne laissez jamais cuire le contenu d’une casserole
jusqu’à dessèchement.
• N’utilisez jamais de pare-vents ou de réflecteurs de chaleur
qui ne soient pas de la marque Optimus.

ÉTEINDRE, LAISSER REFROIDIR ET
RANGER LE RÉCHAUD
1. Coupez l’arrivée de gaz en tournant le robinet de la valve
dans le sens des aiguilles d’une montre jusqu’à sentir une
résistance et vérifiez bien que la flamme est complètement
éteinte.
2. Laissez le réchaud refroidir.
3. Ôtez la cartouche de gaz.
4. Il est normal qu’un peu de gaz s’échappe lorsque vous
dévissez la cartouche.

la housse prévue à cet eet.

un stockage non conforme.
Stocker les cartouches de gaz près d’une source de chaleur
ou d’inflammation peut provoquer une explosion. De même,
les cartouches ne doivent jamais être entreposées dans des
lieux où la température dépasse 50°C.
Ne déplacez jamais un réchaud allumé ou encore chaud.
Laissez le réchaud refroidir pendant au moins 10min avant de
le déplacer.
Retirez toujours la cartouche de gaz avant de ranger ou de
transporter le réchaud.
Les cartouches de gaz doivent être stockées dans un espace
bien ventilé, loin de toute source de chaleur ou d’inflammation
(chaue-eau, réchaud, flamme de veilleuse d’allumage,
appareil de chauage, etc.) et où la température n’excède
jamais 50°C.
ENTRETIEN
Avant chaque utilisation, vérifiez l’état du joint torique situé au
niveau du point de raccordement avec la cartouche de gaz.
ILLUSTRATION [1] Si le joint n’est pas en place ou qu’il est usé
ou abîmé, une fuite peut se produire. Pour le remplacer,
sortez-le à l’aide d’un outil épointé (ex.: le bout arrondi d’une

aiguille à coudre). N’utilisez jamais un objet tranchant ou pointu
qui pourrait endommager le filetage. Placez le joint torique neuf
en veillant à ne pas l’abîmer. N’utilisez que des joints toriques
de marque Optimus (référence article: 8019247). N’apportez
aucune modification au réchaud vous-même. Seul un
professionnel qualifié peut eectuer des actes d’entretien
supplémentaires. Pour toute réparation importante, veuillez
retourner le réchaud à Optimus.

Un allume-gaz piézo-électrique est inclus avec votre
réchaud Crux Lite.
Pour allumer le réchaud, faites pivotez le robinet de la valve de
réglage et rapprochez l’allume-gaz de la tête du brûleur. Veillez
à ce que l’extrémité où l’étincelle se produit soit tournée vers le
haut. Pressez le bouton vert pour produire une étincelle.
ILLUSTRATION [6] Appuyez plusieurs fois sur le bouton si le
brûleur ne s’allume pas tout de suite. Remarque : les
allume-gaz piézo-électriques ne sont pas fiables au-dessus de
2000m d’altitude.
AVERTISSEMENT
Une mauvaise manipulation peut entraîner des brûlures ou
des blessures graves.
• Ne vous penchez pas au-dessus du réchaud lorsque vous
l’allumez. Les flammes générées à l’allumage peuvent
provoquer des brûlures graves.
