This product is warrantied against poor workmanship and defective materials. This warranty
does not include abuse, careless handling, collateral damage and / or normal wear and tear.
It is Nadel Enterprises Inc.’s option and discretion whether to repair or replace or reject the
warranty claim.
To apply for a warranty claim, return your product with proof of purchase to your dealer. You
can also contact us at 416.745.2622, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST or at
customerservice@OpusProPhoto.com.
We reserve the right to change warranty terms without notice.

hank you for choosing the Opus OPL-M40 monolight.
The OPL-M40 is a simple to use 40 w/s self contained flash unit.
In order to ensure safe operation and to obtain peak performance from your Opus
OPL-M40 flash bulb, please take a few moments to familiarize yourself with this user
guide.
Please make sure that you fully understand the operating instructions and features
of your new monolight before using it.

Handling Precautions
* Turn off the power and unplug the power cord if the flash will not be used for a few days.
* For peak performance and longer life, the unit should be fired several times every month.
* Do not use the unit if it has been in contact with moisture or flammable vapour and / or
flammable material.
* Do not use the flash if it appears to be damaged.
* Never attempt to service the unit yourself. Severe shock and / or burns could result.
* Only certified technicians are authorized to service this unit.
* Before plugging in the unit, check that all the switches are in the “OFF” position.
Using the OPL-M40
The OPL-M40 can be screwed into any standard AC light socket. It can also be used with the
Opus OPL-SA02 light socket (see Available Accessories).
There are several ways to trigger the Opus OPL-M40 monolight
Sync Socket:
The sync socket is a standard

” jack and is used for connecting the OPL-M40 to a camera
with the sync cord. Please refer to your camera’s instruction manual for sync cord operation.
Photocell:
The OPL-M40 has a built-in photocell, enabling the unit to be triggered by another flash
source.
Flash Test Fire Button:
The flash test fire button manually triggers the flash without using a camera. This is useful for
testing the flash and checking exposures.
