General information
Ork Hunter PVS-14 is a multifunctional night vision
system that allows you to use it not only by holding
it in your hands, but also by attaching the device
to your head, helmet or weapon. At night, in the
presence of moonlight and starlight, the monocular
can be used for driving vehicles, shooting,
conducting remote surveillance, reading maps,
servicing machinery, providing rst aid and other
tasks. Using the head mount, the monocular can be
xed in the most comfortable position. The design
of the device is compact, durable and equipped with
a built-in IR illumination. The monocular can be used
together with an optical sight, which will give it the
function of night vision sight.
The kit includes: a night vision monocular, a head
mount, an additional wide-angle lens, a battery, a
protective case for transportation, an instruction
manual, a tissue for cleaning the lenses, a warranty
card.

user’s eyes.
• Over-brightness protection: When the ambient
light exceeds 40Lx, the device will automatically
turn off after 10 seconds to avoid damage to the
image intensier.
• Low battery indicator: the green indicator on the
edge of the eyepiece starts to blink when the
battery is low.

Operating Instructions
Put one 3V CR-123 lithium battery observing the
polarity indications on the battery compartment (2)
surface. Remove the protective cover (4) when it’s
used at night or in low light condition.
NOTE!
To protect the image intensier tube, keep the lens
cap on the objective lens when the monocular is not
in use or when checked out in daylight conditions.
Turn on the device by pushing operation button (1)
and moving it to ON position. After this, you can
start observing the scene through the eyepiece (5).
The greenish-lit screen of the image tube means
that the device is working normally. A green light
appears in the edge of eyepiece at the same time
and it serves as the power indicator as well as
low battery indicator. If the indicator light starts
ickering, it means the battery is running low.
Activate the IR illuminator (8) by another pushing
button (1) and moving it to IR when the monocular
is working in the conditions of extreme low light or
total darkness.

11
PVS-14
EN
NOTE!
The IR-light from the illuminator can be detected by
others that are using night vision devices.
Focus the objective lens (3) by rotating the objective
lens ring for sharper image of viewed object. Adjust
eyepiece (5) by rotating the eyepiece ring for sharper
image of intensier screen.
You may focus the IR light for additional distance by
placing the focusing lens of the IR illuminator (8).
This will extend the range the useful range of the IR.
The light detector (9) can detect the surrounding
luminance; the device will be shut off automatically
when the ambient light exceeds 40Lx in 10 seconds.
When you nish observing, push the operation
button (1) and move it to OFF, then the device stops
working.

Precautions
Do not disassemble the device by yourself!
It’s better to use a device under +5°C to +40°C.
After the device usage in temperatures below zero,
wait at least 3 hours at room temperature, to avoid
condensation accumulating on the internal lens
surfaces and the consequent fogging caused by
extreme temperature differences.
Keep the device in a soft carrying bag, ventilated
and dry place with a temperature which does not
exceed +15°C. Keep away from the heating devices
and avoid direct sunlight and high humidity which
does not exceed 70%.
The device should be used at nighttime and can’t
be aimed at strong light. If you have to test it during
the daytime, the front lens cap should never be
removed. You can observe the target through the
hole in the protection cap.
Use good-quality lithium or alkaline batteries,
because bad-quality batteries will affect the
performance of the NVD and easily damage the
device.
Try to avoid the rain and mist, avoid dropping,
shaking and collision. Use a clean soft cloth and
dampen in alcohol, if necessary.

14
EN
A useful tip is to remove the battery when the night
vision will be not in use for over 3 days to prevent
battery leakage and damage the device.
NOTE!
It is normal that the device can not be turned on
when the ambient light exceeds 40 Lx. This device
has a protection system, which turns off the image
intensier when the ambient light level exceeds the
limit of 40 Lx during a 10-second period.
Failure to follow the above precautions may cause
the device damage and will void the manufacturer’s
warranty.

Troubleshooting
The device does not turn on
• Reinstall the battery with the correct polarity.
• Replace battery.
• Clean the battery compartment, focusing on the
contact points.
The observed image ickers or ashes
• This means there is too much light
(e.g. obervation during twilight conditions).
• Turn off the device or place the objective
lens cover.
• The device will function normally in light
conditions, not in excess of 0.1Lx (full moon).
The image is missing or not focused
• Re-focus the device by adjusting the objective
lens. Adjust the diopter setting by rotating the
eyepiece, if necessary.
• Check the cleanliness of the objective surface
and eyepiece and clean if necessary.
• Replace batteries.
• In extreme low light conditions, activate the
built-in IR illuminator.

16
EN
The image disappeared or its quality worsened
• Automatic shut-off might occur to protect the
device from excessive light. Attach the objective
lens cover and ensure that the device starts
to function normally. Turn the device off and
wait until the conditions darken to continue
observation.
• Bright light sources (e.g. street lights) may cause
visibility to decrease or disappear. Turn the
monocular away from the light source, visibility
will restore itself in several minutes.
You see black dots on the screen
• These dots are minor cosmetic blemishes
resulting from the image intensier production
processes and are not a sign of a defective or
low-quality device.
• These dots do not interfere with the reliability and
performance of the monocular.
