Manual and automatic operation
Because the position of the burn-out from the combustion chamber can be
determined individually, a length adjustment may be necessary with some
components! (Details are provided in the document.)
A sufficient quantity of combustion air must be provided (calculation is required). Use
caution in regard to the utilisation of ventilation systems, fume hoods, etc.!
To avoid any errors, please first carefully read our assembly instructions!
The respective national or local regulations and general provisions, stipulations and
codes of practice must be complied with!
CAUTION: Due to the thermal expansion of the door unit, a space of at least
4 mm must be provided all around the mounting frame and the stove shell. The
space must be filled with a soft sealing strip.

The following materials are required for the assembly of the Ortner storage corner
Fibre mat strips (for sealing between the ceramic and the metal parts), included in the delivery
Bedding mortar HK for the bonding of the combustion chamber jacket, included in the delivery
Open-end spanner 30 mm or pipe wrench for the height adjustment of the base frame
Allen keys –set
Size 10 socket or open-end spanner

Important information before the installation
Check the rotary air damper (the locking plate must be removed in the event of manual
operation) in regard to its function and ease of operation. Check all screws on the frame and
retighten, if necessary.
Shell components (red) must always be made gastight with Ortner bedding mortar HK.
Depending on the specific burn-out situation, certain shell components must be cut to length
accordingly.
Refractory concrete parts (grey) are always installed dry (no bonding). In this manner, they can always be
replaced via the door.
All grey refractory concrete parts have already been cut to the correct dimensions.

Outlet on top
Insert the provided fibre strips on the
connection points between metal and
ceramic.
Set up the base frame, level the bottom part
and if necessary, connect the aluminium
flexible hose for the combustion air supply.
Loosen the screws of the metal strips on the
frame (contact surface with jacket
components) and on the tabs on the base
frame.

First position the 1st row of the jacket parts
dry on the fibre pads in the base frame.
The first row is only bonded at the front sides
towards each other using bedding mortar HK.
Now press the bottom clamping strip against
the jacket bricks and secure these with the
screws.
Now align the 1st row horizontally and
vertically.
Then place the remaining jacket parts
together on top of each other with bedding
mortar HK (joint thickness approx. 3 mm). Be
careful not to close off or contaminate the
inlet air gap on the base frame with bedding
mortar HK.
Before you brick up with the jacket bricks
above the door, this must be aligned at a
right angle with the base plate using the
lateral clamping strips and securedwith
screws.
(If this is not done, then problems may arise
later on when inserting the masonry heater
bricks.)

Place the base plates and the ash bricks in the
combustion chamber (do not bond!)
Insert the first two rows of GOS in the
combustion chamber. No bond is created in
the course of this.
The designation of the bricks relates to the
number of segments.

Install the parts of the post-combustion
chamber dry. In the event of joints that have
not been closed (depending on the joint
thickness when erecting the red jacket
bricks), the joints must be sealed with
ceramic fibre. However, the parts of the post-
combustion chamber should not be bonded
with each other.
Now install the remaining rows of the GOS. In
the course of this, in places a 6 mm air gap
must be created between the bricks.
Caution: The GOS without nubs must be
placed in the top row.
Joint pattern GOS:
An OPEN joint must be created after the 2nd
and 4th row GOS.
