means the camera enter working mode and start to detect the area it covers. And it will take
photos or videos automatically (according to its current parameter settings) when it is triggered
by the PIR sensor's detection of activity in the area it covers.
3. How to Set the Camera
Menu Setting List
>Clock: Pressing [OK] to enter clock setting, using [LEFT] or [RIGHT] to scroll to the year, month
and date; and use [UP] or [DOWN] to scroll to the number you need. Once all settings are made,
press [OK] to save. ( 24-hr format only, “00”=midnight,“12”=noon)
>Mode: The camera will only take photos under Camera mode, only take videos under Video
mode, and the photo first and then the video under the Dual mode. Please set the function by
you need.
>Image Sizes: 3M, 8M and 16M optional. Higher resolution produces better quality images but
creates larger files that will occupy more space of the SD card. 8M is a good compromise
between quality and file size.
>Video Sizes: 640*480; 1280*720; 1920*1080 optional. Higher resolutions produces better
quality videos, but creates larger files that takes up more of the SD card capacity.

>Capture Number: It means how many photos are taken in sequence per trigger in Camera
mode. Choose 1, the camera will take one photo; Choose 2, the camera will take two photos,
choose 3, the camera will take 3 photos.
>Image Quality: Super Fine/ Fine/ Normal, Selects image resolution (in pixels per frame). Higher
resolution produces better quality, but creates larger files that take up more of the SD card
capacity (fills up faster).
>Image Format: proportion is optional, 4:3 or 16:9.
>Video Length: The length of per captured video clip (5 seconds to -60 seconds). The maximum
value is 60 Sec and the default value is 10 Sec. To conserve battery power, setting a shorter video
length at night would be better.
>Camera Name: press [OK] to enter the editing, use UP/DOWN for scroll of numbers and letters
you want, and use LEFT/RIGHT to scroll to the next or previous position.
>Interval: Time Interval between pictures taken by the camera, when the target stays in the
sensing area. If you want the PIR sensor to detect motion more frequently, you can choose the
shorter interval. Setting the "Interval" prevent capturing too many redundant photos.
>Coordinate Input: The default option is OFF. Select ON to input latitude and longitude
coordinates for camera location, it will be embedded in files saved in SD card.
>Time Period: The default option is OFF. Select ON to setting, the camera can work for a
predetermined period of time and standby for other periods of time. Please make sure the
camera Clock is consistent with the local real-time time, as the Time Period you set is base on
the camera Clock.
>Time Scan: When activated, Time Scan forces the camera to take photos or videos even when it
is not triggered by an nearby live animal, useful for constant monitoring of an area that might be
far away from the camera. The user can set start and stop times for up to two in dependent
“blocks”of Time Scan recording,as well as the interval time between each photo/video.
Note: Due to the limitation of the camera's read and write functions, if you need to make
continuous shooting, please try to set a lower resolution for [Image Sizes], and you will get
clearer images.
You can enter up to 10 characters or leave it blank, 10 (0-9) numbers and 26(A-Z) letters are
available for you.
Caution: This function has a great influence on the batteries life. The shorter the interval, the high
frequency to capture target, but more power consumption; The longer the interval, the lower frequency
to capture the target and less power consumption.
For example, you need the camera only work at daytime (from 6:00am to 6:00pm), then
you should set it from 6:00am to 18:00pm. Don't forget to press the OK button to save
your settings.
Note: two time blocks can not appear in overlap section, or you will not set it successfully.
For example: A 8:00-12:00 B 13:00-23:00, this is OK for set.

>Sensor Level: The sensitivity of the PIR sensor. The “High” setting will make the camera more
sensitive to infrared (heat) and more easily triggered by motion, and the “Low”setting makes it
less sensitive to heat and motion.
>Language: Selects user's preferred language from defined ten languages.
>Password: Select OFF to close the password function. Select ON and set 4-digit password.
>Image Recycle: Select "ON" if you want the oldest photos/videos to be replaced by new images
once the SD Card is full. Select "OFF" if you want operate to stop when the card is full.
>Time Stamp: Select “ON” if you want the date& time (that the photo was captured) imprinted
on every photo; select “OFF” for no imprint.
>Video Sound: Press “ON” the camera will record the sound when in video mode. Press
“OFF”and no sound will be closed.
>Format: Delete (erase) all files stored on a SD card. Please format a SD card that has been
previously used in other devices.
>Default: Select "Execute" and press OK to restore all parameters to the original factory default
settings.
>Version: Here it shows the updated Firmware version being currently used in this camera.
Please contact Seller to download the most updated firmware, If necessary.
What’s the difference between the Interval and the Time Scan?
Interval - in this mode, the PIR sensor still works. For example, if you choose the 30s
interval, the PIR sensor will detect the motion twice in one minute. If the PIR sensor
detects an object at this time, the camera will record, but if the PIR sensor doesn't
detect, the camera will not record.
Time Scan - in this mode, the PIR sensor will no longer working because it will be
triggered by the built-in timer, and the camera would take photos in the setting interval
time. For example, if you set the time lapse to 30s, the camera will record twice in one
minute whether or not there is an object passing by.
The high setting can be useful when he ambient temperature is warm (making it more
difficult for the sensor to detect animals), and the Low setting may help in cold whether
if the camera is being triggered too often by anything warmer than the surroundings.
“Normal” is for average or moderate condition. The default “Auto” Setting will allow the
camera to determine the best setting if weather is expected to change significantly
Caution! Make sure you have downloaded and backed up all files you want to preserve first!
Press OK to execute, press MENU (or select NO then press OK) to exit without formatting.
You can choose yes, if the camera is behaving oddly and you think you may have changed
the setting for something accidentally ( but aren't sure which one). This will returns your
camera each setting back to the factory default.

4. How to mount the camera
You must be sure to mount it in place correctly and securely.
We recommend mounting the OUDMON Cam on a sturdy tree with a diameter of about 6
in.(15cm). To get the optimal picture quality, the tree should be about 16-17ft. (5 meters) away
from the place to be monitored, with the camera placed at a height of 5-6.5 ft. (1.5 ~ 2 m). Also,
keep in mind that you will get the best results at night when the subject is within the ideal lash
range, no farther than 45'(14m) and no closer than 10'(3m) from the camera.
Using a adjustable web belt:
Using a camera mount stand:
Use wall anchors and screws to fix the camera on the wall(plank, tree, etc.)
OUDMON Trail Camera Mounts: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08DSJ1ZLL

Please attach the camera to a suitable place, the height away from the ground for placing the
camera should vary with the animal size appropriately. In general, 3 to 6 feet is preferred.
5 meters away from the place to be monitored, try to place the camera at a height of 5-6.5 ft.
(1.5 ~ 2 m).
5. Sensing Angle and Distance Test:
Switch to SETUP Mode - make a horizontal movements (not a vertical walk) in front of the
camera at several positions within the area where you expect the game or subjects to be.
1. If the motion indicator LED light blinks, it indicates that position can be sensed.
2. If it does not blink, that position is outside of the sensing area.
Try different distances and angles from the camer, the results of your testing will help you find
the best placement when mounting and aiming the OUDMON Cam.
Please do the horizontal movement in front of the PIR. Vertical movement could not detect
correctly.
>Note
To avoid potential false triggers due to temperature and motion disturbances in front of the
camera, please not aim it at a heat source or nearby tree branches or brush (especially on
windy days).
6. Switching ON the Camera
Once you switch to the ON mode, the motion indicator LED (red) will blink for about 5 seconds.
This gives you time to close and lock the front cover of the OUDMON Cam and then walk away.
After it stops blinking, the PIR is active, and any motion that is detected by it will trigger the
capture of photos or videos as programmed in the SETUP Menu.
Please note, the PIR is strongly sensitive to ambient temperature. The greater the temperature
difference between the environment and your subject, the farther the possible sensing distance.
Before leaving the camera unattended, please check for the following:
Are the batteries inserted/connected with correct polarity and is the power level sufficient?
Does the SD card have sufficient available space; does its write-protection switch off (lock) ?
Does the power switch in the ON position? (do not leave it in the SETUP position).
