The Outdoor GreatRoom Company extends the following warranty for Cook Number Grill - CNG-TRAVELER
GasGrillusedintheUnitedStatesofAmericaorCanada.DealersandemployeesofTheOutdoorGreatRoom
Companyhavenoauthoritytomakeanywarrantyorauthorizeanyremediesinadditiontoorinconsistentwiththe
termsofthiswarranty.Thiswarrantygivesyouspeciclegalrights.Youmayalsohaveotherrightsthatvaryfrom
statetostate.
TheOutdoorGreatRoomCompanywarrantsthatthisCookNumberGrill-CNG-TRAVELERGasGrill(the“Prod-
uct”)willbefreefromdefectsinmaterialandworkmanshipasfollows:
•Stainlesssteelparts-forthelifeoftheProduct.
•Allotherparts-foraperiodofoneyearfromtheProduct’sdateofpurchase.
Thiswarrantyissubjecttotheconditions,exclusionsandlimitationsdescribedbelow.
ThiswarrantyappliesonlytotheoriginalowneroftheProductandisnontransferable.FireStone’sobligationunder
thiswarrantydoesnotextendtodamagesresultingfrom(1)assembly,operationormaintenanceoftheProductnot
inaccordancewiththeInstallation/AssemblyInstructions,OperatingInstructionsandtheListingAgencyIdentica-
tionLabelfurnishedwiththeProduct;(2)installationorusewhichdoesnotcomplywithlocalbuildingcodesandor-
dinances;(3)shipping,improperhandling,improperoperation,abuse,misuse,accidentorunworkmanlikerepairs;
(4)useoffuelsotherthanthosespeciedintheOperatingInstructions;(5)installationoruseofcomponentsnot
suppliedwiththeProductoranyothercomponentsnotexpresslyauthorizedandapprovedinwritingbyFireStone;
and/or(6)modicationoftheProductnotexpresslyauthorizedandapprovedinwritingbyFireStone.Anyofthe
circumstancesdescribedintheprevioussentencevoidsthiswarranty.ThiswarrantyisvoidiftheProductorany
componenthasbeenremoved,repairedorreplacedbeforeTheOutdoorGreatRoomCompanyhasbeenafforded
areasonableopportunitytoinspecttheProduct.ThiswarrantydoesnotcoverLPtanks.
ThiswarrantyislimitedtothereplacementofdefectivecomponentsandTheOutdoorGreatRoomCompanymay
fullydischargeitsobligationsunderthiswarrantybyreplacing,atitsdiscretion,thedefectivecomponents.The
OutdoorGreatRoomCompanywillprovidereplacementpartsatnochargeandwillpayreasonableandnecessary
freightcostsrelatedtoreplacingdefectivecomponentsunderthiswarranty.Themaximumamountrecoverable
underthiswarrantyislimitedtothepurchasepriceoftheProductand,ifTheOutdoorGreatRoomCompanyis
unabletoprovidereplacementcomponentsinanexpedientandcost-effectivemanner,TheOutdoorGreatRoom
CompanymaydischargeallobligationsunderthiswarrantybyrefundingthepurchasepriceoftheProduct.

Grill Installation Codes
ThisgrillhasbeentestedinaccordancewithANSIZ21.58-
2005/CSA 1.6-2005 and ANSI Z21.58a-2006/CSA1.6a-
2006.Theinstallationofthisgasgrillmustconformwithlo-
calcodesor,intheabsenceoflocalcodeswiththeNational
FuelGasCode,ANSIZ223.1/NFPA54(IntheUSA)orNat-
ural Gas and Propane Installation Code, CSA B149.1 or
PropaneStorageandHandlingCode,B149.2(inCanada).
Neverusethisgasgrillinagarage,porch,shed,breeze-
wayoranyotherenclosedarea.Thegasgrillistobeused
outdoorsonly,withatleast6inchclearancefromtheback
andsidesofthegrilltoanycombustiblesurface.Thegas
grillshallnotbelocatedunderoverheadcombustiblecon-
struction.Do not obstruct the ow of combustionor ven-
tilationair around the gas grill housing. Donot block the
bottomairvents.
Thisoutdoorgasgrillisnotintendedtobeinstalledinoron
recreationalvehiclesand/orboats.
Correct LPG Cylinder Use
Thisgasgrillisdesignedforusewithastandarddispos-
able1lb.LiquidPropaneGas(LPG)cylinder,notincluded
withgrillbox.NeverconnectthegasgrilltoanLPGcylin-
derthatexceedsthiscapacity.TheLPGcylindermustbe
an“OPD”gascylinderwhichoffersanOverllPrevention
Device.Thissafetyfeaturepreventsthecylinderfrombe-
ingoverlledwhichcancausemalfunctionoftheLPGcyl-
inderand/orgrill.
TheLPGcylindermustbeconstructedandmarkedinac-
cordancewiththeSpecicationsforLP-GasCylindersofthe
U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) or the National
StandardofCanada,CAN/CSA-B339,Cylinders,Spheres
and Tubes for Transportation of Dangerous Goods: and
Commission,asapplicable.
Inaddition:
1. TheLPGcylindermustalsobeprovidedwithalisted
overlling prevention device, and a cylinder connec-
tiondevicecompatiblewiththeconnectionforoutdoor
cookingappliances.
2. TheLPGcylinderusedmusthaveacollartoprotectthe
cylindervalve.
3. Thecylindersupplysystemmustbearrangedforvapor
withdrawal.SeeFigure5onpage9.
4. NeverconnectanunregulatedLPGcylindertothegas
grill.
5. DonotstoreaspareLP-gascylinderunderornearthis

Beware of Spiders
• Never light the gas grill with the lid closed or before
checkingtoinsuretheburnertubesarefullyseatedover
thegasvalveorices.
• Never allow children to operate the grill. Do not allow
childrentoplaynearthegrill.

CAUTION: Spiders and small insects occasionally spin
websormakenestsinthegrillburnertubesduringtran-
sit and warehousing. These webs can lead to a gas
ow obstruction which could result in a re in and
aroundtheburnertubes.Thistypeofreisknownas
a “FLASH-BACK” and can cause serious damage to
thegrillandcreateanunsafeoperatingconditionforthe
user.
Althoughanobstructedburnertubeisnottheonlycauseof
“FLASH-BACK”,itisthemostcommoncause.
To reduce the chance of “FLASH-BACK”, clean the
burnertubesbeforeassemblingthegrill,andatleast
onceamonthinlatesummerorearlyfallwhenspi-
ders are most active.Also perform this burner tube
cleaningprocedureifthegrillhasnotbeenusedforan
extendedperiodoftime.

B. Disconnecting a 1 lb. Disposable Liquid Propane
Gas (LPG) Cylinder from the Grill
1. TurnburnercontrolknobtothefullOFFposition.(Turn
clockwisetoclose.)
2. DetachtheLPGcylinderbyturningtheQuickCoupling
Nutoftheconnectiontubecounterclockwise.
Step 4 Connecting Gas Cylinder
A. Connecting a 1 lb. Disposable Liquid Propane Gas
(LPG) Cylinder to the Grill
1. MakesuretheburnercontrolknobandOFF/ONrocker
switchareintheOFFposition.
2. Checkthecylindervalvefeaturestoensureithasprop-
erexternalmatingthreadstotthegrillsLPGregula-
tor.ScrewtheLPGregulatortothecylinderandhand
tighten.
3. Inspectthegrill’sgasmanifoldconnectionportforany
damageordebris.Removeanydebris.Neverattempt
tousedamagedorpluggedequipment.
4. When connecting the LPG cylinder to the manifold
connection,handtightenthenutoftheconnectiontube
clockwisetoafullstop(seeFigure5).DONOTusea
wrenchtotightenbecauseitcoulddamagetheQuick
CouplingNutandresultinahazardouscondition.
5.CheckingForLPGasLeaks
Nevertestforleakswithaame.Checkforgasleaksprior
torstuse,atthebeginningofeachseason,oreverytime
theLPGcylinderischanged.Followthesefoursteps:
Use a commercially-available non-corrosive leak check•
solution.
TurnthegrillignitorcontrolknobtothefullOFFposition•
(clockwise).
Apply the leak check solution to all gas connections.•
Bubbleswillappearintheleakchecksolutionifthecon-
nections are not properly sealed. Tighten or repair as
necessary.
Ifthereisagasleakthatcannotberepaired,disconnect•
thecylinderfromthegrillandcallthegasgrilldealer,orgas
supplierforrepairassistance.

Basic Lighting Procedures
1. Familiarize yourself with the safety guidelines at the
frontofthismanual.Donotsmokewhilelightinggrillor
checkinggassupplyconnections.
2. BesuretheLPGcylinderislled.
3. Makesureallgasconnectionsaresecurelytightened.
4. Ensurethat2-“D”sizebatterieshavebeeninstalled.
5. Openthegrilllid.
Lighting the Grill by Match
Tolightthegasgrillbymatch,followsteps1through7of
the Basic Lighting Procedures. Then remove the grilling
grateandsearingplatefromthegrill.Placealong,litmatch
oralonglitgrill lighternexttothemain burner portsand
turntheignitorcontrolknobtotheHIGHsettingtorelease
gas.Theburnershouldlightimmediately.(SeeFigure9).
Replacethesearingplateandgrillinggrateinthegrill.
6. SetignitorcontrolknobandOFF/ONrockerswitch
toOFF.(SeeFigure8).
7. DepresstheOFF/ONrockerswitchonthefrontpanelto
theright-the“ON”position.
8. PushinandturnignitorcontrolknobtoHIGH.Thebuilt-
inignitorwillclickandsparktoigniteburner.Ignitormay
needrealignmenttogenerateadequatespark.
9. Conrm ignition by viewing ame through the grilling
grateslots.
10.Iftheburnerdoesnotlight,turntheignitorcontrolknob
toOFF,wait5minutesforgastoclear,thenretry.
11.Adjusttemperaturecontrolknobtothedesiredcooking
temperature.

If the grill fails to light properly:
1. TurnignitorcontrolknobtoOFF.Waitatleastvemin-
utesforgastoclear,thenretry.
2. Checkgassupplyandconnections.
3. Repeat lighting procedure. If the grill still fails to op-
erate properly, turn ignitor control knob and OFF/ON
rockerswitchtoOFF,thencheckthefollowing:
• Problem: Pluggedorice
Correction:RemovetheLPGcylinderconnectiontube,
grateandgreasedrawerfromthegrill.Openthehood
androtatethegrill90ºuntilthecontrolpanelfacesup.
Removethefour5/16inchhexnutsandspacersfrom
theundersideofthecontrolpanel.Usea3/4openend
wrenchtodisconnectthe1/2inchgas extubefrom
thebackoftheorice.Liftthecontrolpaneloffitsfour
studsandset itasidewithout removingtheelectrical
ignitorwire.Insertathin2-3inch needlethroughthe
back of the orice to gently clear any obstructions.
Reinstallthecontrolpanel,andreconnectthegasex
tubeandreinstallallcookingcomponents.
Ifanobstructionissuspectedinthegasvalve,please
callthegasgrilldealerorgasapplianceserviceperson
forassistance.
• Problem:Misalignmentofignitoronburner
Correction:Checkforproperpositionoftheelectrode
tip. The tip of the electrode should be pointing over
burnerportsatthetopoftheburner.Thegapbetween
thesparkelectrodeandtheburnershouldbe1/8inch.
Adjustifnecessary.Pressandturnignitorcontrolknob
counterclockwise and check for presence of spark.
(SeeFigure10).
• Problem:DisconnectedIgnitionWires
Correction:InspecttheIgnitorjunctionboxfoundbe-
neaththeControlPanel.ConnectlooseIgnitorwiresto
thejunctionboxandtrytolightthegrill.
• Problem:Weakbatteries
Correction: Replace“D”sizebatteriesinignitormod-
uleunderneathgrillcontrolpanel.
4. If all checks or corrections have been made and the

Flare-Ups
The fats and juices dripping from grilled food can cause
are-ups.Sinceare-upsimpartafavorablydistinctivetaste
andcolortofoodcookedoveranopename,theyshould
beaccepteduptoapoint.Nevertheless,uncontrolledar-
ingcanresultinaruinedmeal.
Important: Before cooking on the grill for the rst time,
washthegrillinggrateandsearplatewithwarm,soapywa-
ter.Rinseanddrythoroughly.
Burn-off
Before cooking on the gas grill for the rst time, you will
wantto“burnoff”thegrilltoeliminateanyodororforeign
matter.Justignitetheburner,closethelid,andoperategrill
ontheHIGHsettingforaboutveminutes.
Preheating
Topreheat,lightthegrillonHIGH,closethelidandfollow
thistimetable:
• For both high and low temperature cooking, preheat
grill10minutes.

Cleaning and Maintenance Instructions
Aswithallappliances,propercareandmaintenancewillkeep
thisgrillintopoperatingconditionandprolongitslife.Byfol-
lowingthesecleaningproceduresonatimelybasis,thegrill
willstaycleanandworkproperlywithminimumeffort.
Cleaning The Cooking Surfaces
Before initial use and periodically, wash the grilling grate
andsearingplateinasoapandwarmwatersolution.Usea
washclothorvegetablebrushtocleanthecookinggrids.
CAUTION: Nevertrytocleanthecookinggridsuntilthey
arecooltothetouch.
Cleaning The Grease Drawer
To reduce the chance of re, the Grease Drawer should
be visually inspected before each grill use. Remove any
greaseandwashgreasedrawerandaluminumtraywitha
mildsoapandwarmwatersolutionordiscardandreplace
withanewaluminumtray.
Cleaning The Burner Tubes and Burner Ports
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the burner
when cleaning the burner tubes and ports.
Toreducethechanceof“FLASH-BACK”followtheproce-
durebelowatleastonceamonthinlatesummerorearly
fallwhenspidersaremostactiveorwhenthegrillhasnot
beenusedforaperiodoftime.

2. DetachtheLPGcylinderbyturningtheQuickCoupling
Nutontheconnectiontubecounterclockwise.
3. Removethegrillinggrateandsearingplate.
Regardlessofwhichburnercleaningprocedureisused,we
recommendyoualsocompletethefollowingstepstohelp
prolongburnerlife.
1. Cleanfrontandrearburnerportsfromareabelowsear-
ingplate.
2. Usea wirebrush toclean theentire outersurface of
burneruntilfreeoffoodresidueanddirt.
3. Cleanany clogged portswith astiffwire,such as an
openpaperclip.
4. Inspectburnerfordamage(cracksorholes)andifsuch
damageisfound,orderandinstallanewburner.After
installation,checktoinsurethatthegasvalveoriceis

Annual Cleaning of The Grill Interior
Burning-offthe grillafter every cookout will keep it ready
forinstantuse.However,onceayearyoushouldgivethe
entiregrillathoroughcleaningtokeepitintop operating
condition.
Followthesesteps:
1. Turn all control knobs and OFF/ON switch to the full
OFFposition.
2. DetachtheLPGcylinderbyturningtheQuickCoupling
Nutoftheconnectiontubecounterclockwise.
3. Remove the grilling grate, searing plate, and grease
drawerwithitsaluminumtray.Washeachitemwitha
mild soap and warm water solution, rinse thoroughly
andletdry.
4. Coverburneroricewithaluminumfoil.
5. Brushtheinsideandbottomofthegrillwithastiffwire
brush,andwashwithamildsoapandwarmwatersolu-
tion.Rinsethoroughlyandletdry.
6. Removealuminumfoilfromoriceandcheckoricefor
obstruction.
7. Checksparkelectrode,adjustingasneeded.TheElec-
trode tip should be pointing toward the burner ports
approximately1/8inch fromtheburner surface.(See
Figure13).
WARNING
Cleaning Exterior Surfaces
Beforeinitialuse,andperiodicallythereafter,washthegrill
using a mild soap and warm water solution. Use a wash
clothorspongeforthisprocess.Donotuseastiffwireor
brass brush that might remove paint during the cleaning
process.
8. Reconnect the gas source and observe the burner
ameforcorrectoperation.
9. Re-install the searing plate, grilling grate and grease
drawerwithitsaluminumtray.
