User Guide for Owl Wired
A. Introduction
Owl Wired replaces your smoke detector with an all-in-one smart home security system
that detects Smoke, Carbon Monoxide, Motion, Sound, Temperature & Humidity.

C. Appearance

D. Installation
a. Remove existing Mounting Bracket from the ceiling if needed
b. Install provided Mounting Bracket in the box using provided 2 screws
c. Connect the 3 wires with the power connector accordingly and put on the screw
cap on each wire connection
Black - Hot/Line
White - Neutral
Orange - Interconnect
d. Insert the Power Connector on back of the device
e. Power on the device by turning on the switch in the back
f. Install the device on the Mounting Bracket by twisting and locking

E. Instructions
a. How to setup Owl Wired
i. Install Owl Home app from testflight: link here
ii. Open Owl Home app
iii. Sign up or Login if you have created an account
iv. Tap on Add icon on the top right
v. Tap on Scan Now Button
vi. Tap on your device

vii. Select your Wi-Fi details and save
b. Button
Silence
Pressing the button when an alarm is on silences the alarm.
Reset
Pressing and holding the button for 15 seconds causes the device
to reset.
c. Indication Light

Under normal standby circumstances, the white light flashes once every
30 seconds.
d. Low battery warning
When the battery capacity is low, the orange light flashes every 10
seconds and shows battery low in the mobile app
e. Alarm On
When the alarm detects more than 300ppm of carbon monoxide gas
concentration, the alarm will trigger within 3 minutes. During this time, the
buzzer will make the sound “di” 4 times every 5 seconds and red light will
also flash. At this time, please turn off the gas valve, open the windows,
doors and call the emergency service. In case of a fire, when a smoke
concentration of 0.1%db/m is detected, Owl Wired will start alarming.
f. Alarm Pause(Hush mode)
Silence your alarm by pressing on the button on the front in case of
non-emergency situations. During this time, the light flashes every 10
seconds to indicate that the alarm has been silenced. Alarm will reset
after 10 minutes.
g. HomeKit Setup
Go into your device settings through Owl Home mobile app and select the
gear icon and tap on Add to HomeKit. It will open the HomeKit dialog to
proceed with the setup.
h. Update firmware
Go into your device settings through Owl Home mobile app and select the
gear icon and tap on Update Firmware and the firmware update will begin
momentarily.

G. Notice
a. Owl Wired can not detect the combustible gases such as liquefied petroleum gas,
natural gas, methane, etc.
b. Cleaning the surface of the device every 3 months is preferred.
c. Do not use detergent to clean the detector as this will damage the device.
d. Do not spray any sprays such as air freshener, hair spray, etc.
e. Aside from using Owl as your shield from smoke, co and safety, please also pay
attention to your daily life and strengthen safety when possible and your
consciousness towards a secure life.

following two conditions: (1) This device may not cause harmful interference, and (2)
this device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause
undesired operation.
Any Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for
compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
Note: This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B
digital device, pursuant to part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to
provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation.
This equipment generates uses and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not
installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference
to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that interference will not
occur in a particular installation. If this equipment does cause harmful interference to
radio or television reception, which can be determined by turning the equipment off and
on, the user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the
following measures:
-Reorient or relocate the receiving antenna.
-Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
-Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the
receiver is connected.
-Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an
uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with
minimum distance 20cm between the radiator & your body.
