INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the Pachanko Constellation Music Server.
Founded in 2013, Pachanko Labs is a French audio manufacturing company from La Réunion Island. Our team is
composed of audiophiles enthusiast, music lovers and engineers with a profound passion for excellent digital sound
reproduction.
We welcome you to a new world of digital audio playback. We are excited to put our technology at your fingertips.
This instruction manual shall help you understand the features and correct operation of your CONSTELLATION
Music Server and shall allow you to enjoy your high-end audio product at its full potential. Please read carefully and
refer to this manual whenever required.

Mains plug
The CONSTELLATION Power Supply is supplied with a non-rewireable mains plug compliant for the intended country. Should you
need to change the plug, dispose of it carefully, as a plug with bare conductors is dangerous if engaged in a live socket.
Please contact PACHANKO LABS or a certified electrician if you are in any doubt.
Power supply voltage
The CONSTELLATION Power Supply comes in different voltages for different mains systems:
100-120V & 200-240V
ONLY USE THE POWER SUPPLY THAT MATCHES THE MAINS VOLTAGE.
A sticker on the rear of the Power Supply indicates the compliant voltage of the device.
WARNING! THE POWER SUPPLY MAY BE DAMAGED IF IT IS CONNECTED TO A POWER OUTLET WITH A HIGHER-THAN-
SPECIFIED VOLTAGE.

Important safety instructions
This product is designed and manufactured to meet strict quality and safety standards. However, you should be aware of and follow
these installation and operation precautions:
1. Take heed of warnings and instructions
You should read all the safety and operating instructions before operating this appliance. Retain this handbook for future
reference and adhere to all warnings in the handbook and on the appliance.
2. Water and moisture
The presence of electricity near liquids can be dangerous. Do not use the appliance near liquids or water –for example, next to
a bathtub, washbowl, kitchen sink, in a wet basement etc.
3. Object or liquid entry
Take care that objects do not fall and liquids are not spilled into the enclosure through any openings. Liquid-filled objects such
as vases should not be placed on the equipment.
4. Ventilation
Do not place the equipment on a bed, sofa, rug or similar soft surface, or in an enclosed bookcase or cabinet, since ventilation
may be impeded. The unit should be installed in a well-ventilated area.
5. Heat
Locate the appliance away from naked flames or heat-producing equipment such as radiators, stoves or other appliances
(including other amplifiers) which produce heat.
6. Ambient Temperature Range
The appliance has been designed for operation in ambient temperature which does not exceed 32°C
7. Racks and stands
Only use a rack or stand that is recommended for use with audio equipment. If the equipment is on a portable rack, it should be
moved with great care to avoid tipping. Take note of maximum allowed weight of rack shelves and do not exceed it.
8. Cleaning
Unplug the unit from the mains supply before cleaning. The case should normally only require a wipe with a soft, damp, lint-free
cloth. Do not use paint thinners, spirit or other chemical solvents for cleaning. We do not advise the use of furniture cleaning
sprays or polishes. Do not apply liquids directly on appliance.

9. Power cable protection
Power supply cables should be routed so that they are not likely to be damaged by items placed upon or against them, paying
particular attention to connectors and plugs, and the point where they exit from the appliance.
10.Earthing/Grounding
Ensure that the earthing or grounding means of the appliance is not defeated.
11.Non-use periods
Unplug the power cable from the power outlet if your CONSTELLATION unit will be unused or idle for a long period of time.
12.Abnormal smell
If abnormal smell or smoke is detected from the appliance, turn the power off immediately and unplug the unit from the wall
outlet. Contact Pachanko Labs or our distributor immediately.
13.Servicing
You should not attempt to service the appliance beyond the scope of this handbook. All other servicing should be referred to
certified service personnel.
14.Damage requiring service
The appliance should be serviced by certified service personnel when:
a. the power-supply cord or the plug has been damaged, or
b. objects have fallen onto or liquid has spilled onto the appliance, or
c. the appliance does not appear to operate normally or exhibits a marked change in performance, or
d. the appliance has been dropped or the enclosure has been damaged.

B. Audio Output
USB is the standard and recommended output of the CONSTELLATION music server for connecting DAC’s.
Please ensure and use a good quality USB cable. Only one (1) USB port can output digital audio at a time.
We can also install SPDIF output as option. Please ensure and use a good quality Coaxial cable.

C. USB Music Storage
For convenience, the CONSTELLATION can allow playback of music directly from attached USB storage.
For playback, simply attach your HDD/SSD or flash drives to any available USB port in the back panel.

D. Network
Use RJ45 type Ethernet cable to connect your Music Server to your Network Router.
A wired Ethernet connection of 1000BASE-T is strongly recommended for all CONSTELLATION
servers to achieve lowest latency for streaming playback.
If a connection of lesser speed is used you may experience drop-outs or degraded audio playback.
The Music Server can also be connected to a Network Switch as long as all components of the system
are on the same network.

E. Diretta
CONSTELLATION also support Diretta, a cutting-edge ethernet protocol designed for High-End Audio. To allow for
Diretta protocol playback, you shall need a Diretta Target device, a DAC with USB input, two (2) LAN cables and
one (1) USB cable.
Both LAN cables are connected to the CONSTELLATION Music Server, one (1) for internet access and one (1) for
direct connection to the Diretta Target device. The USB cable then connects the Diretta Target device to the DAC.

POWERING-ON YOUR CONSTELLATION MUSIC SERVER (Power cycle
routine)
For the Constellation Mini and Mini SE models, just press the Power button on the front panel*.
For the Constellation Reference, SE and Masterpiece models please switch on the Power supply first and wait for
a “click” sound (Power supplies are equipped with a Soft Start).
Power on: Switch on the CONSTELLATION*, a white LED will illuminate. Wait for up to 25 seconds to allow for the
Operating System and Software fully boot.
Power off: Press then release the power button and wait until the white led turns off.
* If you are using the Pachanko Stellar or any other Linear Power supply, you must switch the Linear Power Supply
unit on first.

QUICK START GUIDE
a. Ensure CONSTELLATION Music Server is in a stable surface and dry environment.
b. Plug all required cables (Main power, USB cable for connecting DACs, LAN cable for internet
connection).
c. Press the power button of the power supply*.
d. Press the power button of your CONSTELLATION, release and wait up to 20-25 seconds for the boot
sequence completion.
e. Use your Roon remote device (PC, Tablet, Phone) to control the CONSTELLATION.
*Reference, SE and Masterpiece versions

ACCESSING YOUR CONSTELLATION MUSIC SERVER
For remote access use AnyDesk software for PC/MAC.
Install and open the software, click on “discovered”and you will see the ID of the CONSTELLATION.
Double click on it and you shall be required to provide a password for access.
The password is: _r00tPWD_ (Both underscore and zero, please do not change the password or we will
not be able to do periodic updates!)

Now you should have full access on your CONSTELLATION Music Server, please be careful in changing any
settings!
Any modifications which are not recommended in this guide will result in a loss in SQ (Sound Quality)!

Go to Roon Remote App then press settings button and proceed as shown below:
Important: Disable default Music folder (1) by clicking on the 3 little dots on the right (2) and chose disable.
