Introduction
A PalatiumCare System is composed of the following parts; the PalatiumCare Enterprise Server,
a Network Coordinator, a Paging Transmitter and a Battery Back-up. A System Mounting Board
and a PalatiumCare UL2560 Comark PC is optional.
PalatiumCare Enterprise Server
The PalatiumCare Enterprise Server is the brains of the system which manages the network
coordinator and paging transmitter. The server is also responsible for running reports,
managing facility settings, managing locations, managing residents, and managing devices.
Both the network coordinator and paging transmitter connect directly to the PalatiumCare
server. The server requires a power outlet and a network connection that has Internet access.
Network Coordinator
The Network Coordinator is responsible for receiving all the wireless signals from the wireless
repeaters and wireless devices. This does not include pagers. The wireless receiver connects
directly into the PalatiumCare server and requires a power outlet.
Paging Transmitter
The Paging Transmitter is responsible for notifying caregivers’ pagers when wireless devices are
triggered to alarm. The paging transmitter connects directly into the PalatiumCare server and
requires a power outlet.
Battery Backup for PalatiumCare System
The Enterprise and UL Enterprise Server bundles include a UPS Battery Backup, all components
should be plugged into the Battery outlets. The battery backup provides 100%** functionality of
the system for up to 30 minutes during a power outage depending on load.
** During a power outage no reduced Power Saving mode is available, the system will maintain
100% functionality at all times.
PalatiumCare UL2560 Comark PC
The PalatiumCare UL2560 PC has the system requirement capable for reconfigure applications
and it is meant as a primary Alerting System for the PalatiumCare Enterprise E-Call.
System Mounting Board
System Mounting Board is a fire retardant backboard that is used as a base to mount the
required hardware. The required hardware for PalatiumCare System can be mounted with or
without the System Mounting Board.

Mounting the Required Hardware
Mounting the PalatiumCare Enterprise Server
1. Secure the Enterprise Server with a screw on each side as shown below. Do not tighten
the screws too tight. Tighten just enough so the server is snug to the System Mounting
Board or to the wall.
2. Plug the Ethernet cable into the server and route the cable to the PC network port.
3. Plug the server power connector 5-24 VDC into the Battery Back-up.
4. Plug the Power and Network Coordinator connector into the server with the black and
white leads.
5. The connector with the black lead from the server goes to the Battery Back-up.
6. The connector with the white lead goes into the Network coordinator for wires
connection as shown in the Network Coordinator wiring and connections.
7. Plug the Serial cable into the Paging Transmitter port on the server and connect it to the
Paging Transmitter.

Mounting the Network Coordinator with Serial & Power Cable
1. Use a small flat blade screw driver to pop open the top cover as shown in figure 2.0
2. Secure the Network Coordinator in diagonal with 2 screws 6 x ½”.
3. Strip back each separate conductor wire about ¼”and connect as shown in the
Connections for Network Coordinator details instruction.
4. After the Network coordinator unit is secured and the conductor wires are connected
then carefully snap the top cover back on to the Network coordinator.
Figure 1.4
Connections for Network Coordinator
In order to be compliant with the UL2560 Certification the Network Coordinator needs to be
wired to the PalatiumCare Server using standard terminal blocks. The wire that connects the
server to the Network Coordinator has 4 separate conductors inside. They are colored Red,
Black, White, and Green. The 4 terminals to connect to are labeled Vs, GND, SER OUT, and SER
IN. Strip back each separate conductor wire about 1/4” and connect as shown below.

Mounting the Paging Transmitter
1. Remove the four screws from the top of the Paging Transmitter and remove the top
cover.
2. Position exactly where the Paging Transmitter will be mounted, then secure it with the
two screws as shown on the picture figure 1.6.
3. When the Paging Transmitter is secured, put back the top cover on and secure it with the
four screws. Attach the antenna to the unit.
4. Plug in the power to the Battery back-up for power.
5. Plug in the Serial cable to the Network Coordinator.

Mounting the Battery Back-up for PalatiumCare System
1. Locate and mark the location for the two screw slots on the back of the battery back-up,
then thread the two screws onto the board or wall. Align the screw holes on the back of
the Battery Back-up to the mounted screws.
2. Positioning the Battery Back-up from the bottom with the secured screws, when they are
aligned to one another, slowly slide the battery back-up downward to secure it. Figure 1.7
3. Use the doubled sided tape and pace it on the flat side of the AC adaptor to secure it in
place.
Figure 1.7
Mounting the System Mounting Board
1. Once the required hardware had been mounted to the system mounting board as a whole
PalatiumCare System. How the entire System can be mounted onto a wall where ever it
needs to be placed.
2. The System Mounting Board already has the pre-exiting thread holes for use. Follow the
pre-existing holes to mount the PalatiumCare System onto the wall with two wall dog
zinc pan head 1-1/4” on the top, and two on the bottom to secure the PalatiumCare
System board.
Mounting the PalatiumCare UL2560 Comark PC
1. Take the stand and slide the arm over the sides of the computer. Making sure the
indented side is against the work surface and then align the holes.
2. Take the two screws provided and thread them into the holes. Be sure not to over tighten
the bottom screws so you can maneuver the monitor (See Comark PC Install Guide).
3. Repeat step 1 and 2 for the other side.

4. If mounting the PalatiumCare UL2560 Comark PC. Secure the PC stand with 3 #8 x ¾”
screws onto the System Mounting Board.
Note: When installing the PalatiumCare UL2560 Comark PC as part of the PalatiumCare
System then the Paging Transmitter will no longer be required as part of the system installation.
Mounting Wireless Repeater
Overview
Mounting the Wireless Repeaters can be done in a couple ways. Orientation does not affect the
range or signal strength. Repeaters can be mounted horizontally next to an outlet, or vertically
underneath the outlet for different circumstances. Repeaters can also be mounted away from an
outlet when a secure mounting location is not available.
Learning Wireless Repeaters into PalatiumCare System
Overview
Wireless Repeaters are used to increase the distance between Location Devices or
Resident Devices and the Wireless Receiver. Wireless Repeaters need to be registered
with the PalatiumCare Server, just like any Location or Resident devices, so the system
knows to monitor the Wireless Repeater for loss of communication. PalatiumCare
suggests learning these into the system prior to continuing. See setup information
Ethernet Etc.
Wireless Repeater Power
Wireless Repeaters used with the PalatiumCare System are powered with a 12VAC power supply
and have an internal battery backup. Since the main power supply is AC power polarity can be
reversed with no effect. To connect the power supply to the repeater, a section of 18-2 wire is
needed.

Page 18
2018
Providing power to Repeater
Take the repeater power cable and attach to the spade terminals to the power supply using the
phillips head screws as shown below. Power outlets for the repeaters must be installed a
minimum of 18” from any sprinkler head.
6. Attach the Terminal block end of the power cable to the Repeater on the indicated power
terminal posts.
Figure 1.8
Note: Polarity does not matter with AC current. Therefore, wires can be connected
to either terminal.

Mounting Options
Repeaters can be mounted horizontally next to an outlet. This will prevent any possible
interference from vertical electrical lines inside the wall.
Repeaters can also be mounted vertically below an available outlet.
The benefit of this is the ability to mount onto a wall where space is limited.
