Never disassemble or modify this device.
Do not use this device in areas of high humidity, handle with wet hands, or
allow contact with water. This may cause the device to malfunction by
causing electronic circuit to short circuit or corrode.

the device to malfunction.
Do not drop from high places or subject to physical shock. This will
cause the device to malfunction.
Do not leave device in car during hot weather or in direct sunlight.
Internal temperatures will rise, cause generation of heat, smoke, and
may cause deformation and malfunction. (storage temperature
range: 10 C 50 C, usage temperature range: 5 C 40 C)
Do not swing the device by its cord. It may cause injury to you or
others and cause the device to malfunction.
Please replace all 3 batteries when changing the batteries and the
batteries should be from the same manufacturer. If battery types are
mixed or old batteries are mixed in, it may shorten battery life,
generate heat, or cause an explosion.
Please adhere to instructions for usage. We cannot be responsible for
damage or loss of data of your mobile phone resulting from improper
usage.
Do not clean with benzine, paint thinner, or alcohol. This may cause
discoloration, deformation, or loss of color. Wipe with a soft, dry cloth
when dirty.
This product does not guarantee all functions for every device
connected.

Plug and play USB connection to PC for stable handsfree two way
communication.

Turn ON the power of the PC and make sure the OS is completely running before
plugging the device into the USB port. UbiquiChat can be connected later. Set the
volume of the device to 0 at this time. If the volume is set to the maximum, loud
sounds may suddenly be output and cause hearing loss.
The drivers will be automatically installed when connected and be rec-
ognized as an USB audio device. * Restart the computer if requested.
1. Connect the device to the PC. The
"New Hardware Wizard" window will be
displayed. Check "Install appropriate driv-
er" and click "Next".
2. Click "Done".
To the PC USB port
Sound cards and drivers are unnecessary.
Just plug into the USB port to connect.

1. Connect the device to the PC. The
wizard below will startup. Click "Next".
2. Check "Find appropriate device for
device" and click "Next".
Windows 98SE

5. Click "Done". 6. Next installation of the "USB human inter-
face device" driver will begin. Click "Next".
3. A screen to select the location for the
driver will appear but do not check this and
click "Next".
4. Click "Next".
7. Check "Find appropriate driver for device"
and click "Next".
8. A screen to select the location for the
driver will be shown but do not check this
and click "Next".
9. Click "Done". 10, Next, installation of the "USB Audio De-
vice" driver will begin. Click "Next".

Check "Find appropriate driver for de-
vice" and click "Next".

er will be shown but do not check this and
click "Next".
The drivers will automatically be installed when connected. "Audio device settings"
may be necessary depending on the application being used.

You may be asked to insert the Windows CD during the installation. When this happens, follow the instructions on the screen.
Connection to PC - Trouble Shooting
UbiquiChat is connected to the USB adapter but no sound is output from
UbiquiChat and sound comes from the PC speaker instead. Also although
the microphone is connected, sound cannot be input.
PC settings have the PC speakers as priority and the microphone is also set
to another device. Change the settings so that this USB device has priority.
Windows XP
1. With this product connected to the PC, open "Start" - "Settings" - "Control
Panel".
2. Open "Multimedia (Sound and Multimedia) (Sound and Audio Device)"
and for priority for "Sound Playback" "Recording" in the "Audio" tab, set the
device to " Micronas USB HeadSet". At this time check to see that "Mute" is
not checked for "Volume".
3. Click "OK" to complete.

Windows 2000, Me, 98SE
1. With this product connected to the PC, open "Start" - "Settings" - "Control
Panel".
2. Open "Multimedia (Sound and Multimedia) (Sound and Audio Device)"
and for priority for "Sound Playback" "Recording" in the "Audio" tab, set the
device to " Micronas USB HeadSet". At this time check to see that "Mute" is
not checked for "Volume".
3. Click "OK" to complete.Do not use USB ports on keyboards or LCD moni-
tors.
Mac OS
1. Open "System Environment Settings" and check "Show volume control on menu
bar".
2. Double click "sound".
3. Click "Input" to select "External Mic(USB Audio)"
4. NO need to set "Out put"
UbiquiChat is connected to the USB adapter but sound level cannot adjust-
erd from PC.
Change the settings so that the volume control icon is displayed on the Win-
dows setting taskbar.
Windows XP
1. Open "Sound and Audio Device" in "Start" - "Settings" - "Controlpanel".
2. Check "Place volume control icon on taskbar (I)" in the "Volume" tab.
3. Click "OK" to complete.
Windows Me, 2000
1. Open "Sound and Multimedia" in "Start" - "Settings" - "Control Panel".
2. Check "Show volume control on taskbar (S)" in the "Sound" tab.
3. Click "OK" to complete.
Mac OS
1. Open "System Environment Settings" and check "Show volume control on menu
bar".
UbiquiChat is connected to a USB hub but no sound.
This product must be connected directly to the USB port on the PC or a USB
port with an AC adapter (self-powered). Do not use USB ports on keyboards
or LCD monitors.

(1) Unplug the cord from UbiquiChat
(2) Lay it down on a table.
(3) Connect the plug to the earphone jack of USB Adapter. (If the
connection is not adequate, an echo may be produced. Therefore
make sure to have an adequate connection.)
(4) Make actual connection through internet(skype,Messengers)
(5) The power will automatically turn ON and the power lamp will
light. Some webphone will send a signal to the speaker only with
communications is initiated and so continue dialing even when the
lamp is not lit.
(6) When the receiver picks up, tell them that you are using hands-
free communications and adjust the volume.
(Adjust the speaker volume with the volume on UbiquiChat or the
volume at PC side)
(7) When communication discontinues for 2 minutes or more, the au-
tomatic ON/OFF circuit will operate and turn OFF the power. When
conversation resumes, the power will turn back ON.
(8) If howling occurs and listening becomes difficult, turn down the
volume on PC. If the volume is too low and becomes difficult to
hear, turn up the volume on UbiquiChat.
(9) Hang up the phone after the call has ended.
(10)Remove the plug from the USB Adapter and wrap the cord
around the body of UbiquiChat and fix the plug (refer to drawing)

Special Adapters for Some Mobile Phones
Some mobile phones have specialized connections for headsets,
depending on manufacturer, model, and country, rather than usi-
ng the worldwide standard 2.5mm plug.
The small adapters to convert the 2.5mm plug of UbiquiChat to th-
e specific connector for the phone are readily available at local p-
hone retailers or electronics shops.
UbiquiChat can also be used with mobile phones

Battery Life
For alkaline batteries: Approximately 6 months with daily use of 30
minutes.
When the batteries are low, the sound from the speaker will be low and
the power lamp dim. Replace the batteries if the power lamp turns off
according to the volume of the sound.
Using the Earphone Jack
A 2.5mm type earphone is included for private conversations.
Speaker is automatically off while earphone is in-use.
Replacing the Batteries
(1) Pull down the lever towards you with your finger to open the battery panel.
(2) Insert 3size AAA batteries with the terminals as shown in the diagram inside.
(3) Replace the panel.

When used upright, the speaker will be
facing you so the sound will come strai-
ght towards you.
When used lying flat, the sound spre-
ads over a wide area and sounds are re-
flected off the table allowing even pe-
ople sitting far away to be picked up.
Using UbiquiChat Upright or Lying Flat
UbiquiChat can be used either standing upright or lying flat.
