The AG-DVC200 digital camera/recorder combines
the extended recording time of the DV format with
professional picture quality and a host of functions.
Designed for a wide array of uses, the camera
section of the AG-DVC200 features a 1/2-inch
interchangeable bayonet mount lens. Its digital
processing and three 410,000-pixel IT CCDs team
up to deliver superior picture quality with 800 lines
of horizontal resolution, high sensitivity and low
smear. The VTR section accepts standard DV
cassettes for up to 276 minutes of recording.
Equipped with an IEEE1394 Input/Output terminal
(i-Link/ Firewire), the AG-DVC200 lets you upload
picture and sound data to a PC, or digitally dub
onto a DV recorder.
This superb digital performance and extended
recording capability make the AG-DVC200
especially well suited for weddings, sports and
other feature-length events.
DV 276 min. Recording Time
Using a standard DV cassette permits the AG-DVC200 to record for
a full 276 minutes without changing cassettes. The AG-DVC200
also provides outstanding digital picture quality, plus superb digital
audio with either 16-bit, 48-kHz sound or 12-bit, 32-kHz sound.
800 lines of Horizontal Resolution
Equipped with three broadcast-type 1/2-inch 410,000-pixel IT
(Interline Transfer) CCDs, the AG-DVC200 provides outstanding
picture quality, with 800 lines of horizontal resolution, a S/N ratio
of 62 dB, and very low smear.
Accepts a Wide Range of Standard 1/2" Lenses
The industry-standard 1/2-inch bayonet mount readily accommodates
the many lenses that are available on the market. For superior ease of
use, the AG-DVC200 features automatic white shading correction,
which adjusts the settings to match the lens.
0.5-Lux Minimum Illumination
The AG-DVC200's CCD with on-chip lens and +36 dB gain-up
allows high-quality shooting in lighting all the way down to 0.5
lux. This allows capture of clear images even under dim
lighting conditions.
High-Quality Digital Processing
Digital circuitry enables a host of creative image-processing
functions, including Black Stretch/Press, Auto Knee, Gamma, Skin
Detail, Coring and Color Effect.

Quick Start, Quick Focus and Full Auto
The AG-DVC200's easy shooting design helps to capture those shots that
just won't wait for leisurely set-ups. For quick shooting,
the AG-DVC200 enters rec standby only 3 seconds after the power is
turned on, focuses fast by instantly releasing the iris with Quick Focus
Support, and includes a Full Auto mode that automatically sets the gain,
white balance, and iris.
Auto Tracking White Balance
White balance is automatically adjusted, in real time, to match your
subject's lighting. Even difficult scenes like following someone as they
walk from indoors to outdoors are easy to shoot, and result in highly
natural lighting.
Shock-less Gain and Shock-less AWB Selector
You can choose either of three levels (high/mid/low) from among a wide
range of freely allocated gain selector settings (0/+3/+6/+9/+12/+15/+18/
+21/+24/ +30/ dB), and switch Auto White Balance between preset and
user-set values (A/B). The shock-less function ensures seamless
switching, preventing any sudden changes in the image. This lets you
quickly adapt to ambient lighting changes while recording.
Six User Scene Memories
This memory function enables rapid setting, by letting you instantly store
and retrieve the camera's parameter settings. The five most commonly
used settings are factory stored for quick and easy use, and you can
change up to six settings of your own.
Auto and Manual Audio Recording
The recording level can be set to either Auto or Manual for each of
channels 1 and 2. The Auto setting adjusts the level automatically
according to the input sound volume, and Manual lets you adjust the
level as desired.
Light Weight, Low Power Consumption
In ready-to-shoot condition — with lens, 1.5" viewfinder, cassette and
battery pack in place — the AG-DVC200 weighs only 11 lbs. It offers
low power consumption, too, using 19 W or less when recording.

Firewire, 4 pin), making it
easy to upload and
download image and audio
to a Macintosh or
Windows-based PC.
You can also connect the
AG-DVC200 to a DV recorder, such as the AG-DV1000/AG-DV2000,
for dubbing with no loss in quality.
