Format an SD Card in PX5000 Camera
1. Insert an SD Card in the PX5000 SD Card Slot.
2. Press and hold the menu button for a few second and the main menu will open.
3. Select FILE menu and then Format SD Card.
4. Format the SD Card in the camera and then eject the card once formatting has completed.
Load the Scene File on the SD Card
5. Using a computer, unzip the provided Scene File and copy the “Private” folder to the root
directory of the newly formatted SD Card.
Note: Do not put the private folder in any sub folders, is must be in the root directory of the SD Card.
3
SETUP DATA SELECT Menu
6. Press and hold the menu button for a few second and the main menu will open.
7. Select the FILE menu and then Setup Data Select. Only Paint (Level) and Paint (S) Select
should be checked as shown below.
8. Select Exit to go back to the FILE menu.
✓Only these two Paint items should be checked.
4
Loading the File from the SD Card into the PX5000
9. Insert the SD Card back into the PX5000 SD Card Slot.
10. Select the SETUP DATA (SD CARD) menu then select LOAD
5
Select the Scene File

13. Exit the menu.
6
Redo White and Black Balances
14. In this order perform a new white balance, black balance and white balance again. Note, if
AWB is not working, make sure WB is not on Preset. Select memoryA or B on the toggle
switch.
Confirm Low, Mid and High Settings
15. Confirm your Low, Mid and High settings in the Paint Menu. This sets the setting related to
the Low, Mid and High toggle switch positions. Matrix tableA and B are set to the same
settings. So, if you use tableA, B can serve as a back up if table A settings were changed and
you want to go back.
Gamma Settings
16. The Default Gamma is set to HD with master gamma set to .45.
17. You can change the gamma as desired using the Gamma menu found in the Paint menu.
18. For example, you want to match a VariCam V-Look, you can use one of the Filmlike Gammas
found in the gamma menu. Note, you can also adjust Gamma by using the master gamma
control. Higher number adds contrast, lower number lowers contrast. Note, this not the same
as a Filmlike gamma.
7
Knee Settings
19. If you shoot with HD Gamma, note that Knee has been turn off in this scene file. If you use
Knee control, make sure to turn it on and adjust as desired.
Matrix and Color Correction
20. If for some reason you want to turn off the matrix and color correction that was applied by the
scene file, this can be disabled in the Paint menu under Matrix and Color Correction.
Chroma Level
21. Chroma Level found in the Paint menu is a great tool for on-the-fly minor adjustments. For
example, if your talent is looking a little pale, add a touch of chroma to make them look better
on camera. It is also handy for MultiCam matching.
MultiCam Matching
22. While the provided scene file is designed to match with the VariCam and LT, other factors for a
good match is the gamma settings (contrast), chroma level, white balance and exposure. If all
of these settings are done correctly, then a very close match can be expected between these
different camera models. Happy Shooting☺
