individual skills.
An average golfer can play 18 holes of Stroke Play in just 45 minutes, making this a perfect alternative for the
busy executive, salesperson or any other golf enthusiast who is short on time.
USGA rules are followed, including penalties, for optimum realism and performance. The Par T Golf Simulator
offers the most fun and opportunity for both beginning and advanced golfers, without regard to season, outdoor
weather conditions or the time of day.
How the Double Eagle Operates
Your Double Eagle consists of several primary components which are integrated by electronic cables and
supported by an attractive framework. These components compose of:
1) The Platform: Fashioned from wood and covered by decorative putting carpet, it serves as the base for
the entire system. All construction and installation is outlined in Section B.
2) The Frame: The metal framework is essential for the structure and support of the screen, canopy, audio
speakers and sensing system. Its assembly is made easy by the modular design and is outlined in Section C.
3) The Electronics: The Projector, the Optisense™ and the Control Console are the heart of the Double
Eagle. These systems integrate to form a state-of-the-art indoor golf system. They project course images,
sense ball flight and analyze collected data. Key vocabulary, as well as, installation, operation and
maintenance information for each system is given in Section D.
When a golfer takes a shot, the golf ball flies through the overhead cameras’ field of vision, strikes a projected
golf course image on the screen and falls to the putting carpet. Cameras immediately transmit the ball’s flight
information to the control console, which calculates speed, spin, elevation and direction of the ball. A graphical
display of the ball is generated and sent through the projector on to the screen.
Finally, the view on screen changes to reflect the golfers new lie.
An incredible process that all happens in a few split seconds.

Chapter 1 PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
SIMULATOR POSITIONING
There are a few items that need to be addressed prior to constructing the platform, the laying of carpet or
assembling any components. One of the most important aspects of installation is machine location within the
facility. We recommend that the machine be placed in an area that is well ventilated and an area that has little or
no ambient light. The Double Eagle works best when there is low lighting conditions and plenty of room for the
golfers to swing. This allows for maximum enjoyment and worry free operation.
The maintenance and installation guide is an important factor in the operation of the Double Eagle. It is
comprised of important information about the system and includes several “tricks-of-the-trade” and tips for set-up
and long term maintenance. Prior to calling customer service, refer to this guide.
It is also important for owners and operators to be very familiar with the machine and all of its components with
their associated names and functions. Being familiar with the names of the components aids in discussing issues
related to operation and service. The following is a drawing that illustrates the locations and names of the items
of your system. Please refer to this often to familiarize yourself with these very important components.

ELECTRICAL POWER REQUIREMENTS
Each Double Eagle should receive power from a dedicated 15-ampere circuit, 110 volt circuit (220V where
applicable) to operate properly and safely. Power should be delivered from the circuit breaker to the outlet boxes
using grounded, No. 12-2 or No. 10-2 Romex™ wire. A transformer is recommended in areas with higher
voltage, or where a dependable power source is not available.
CAUTION: ALL ELECTRICAL LINES SHOULD BE INSTALLED BY A LICENSED ELECTRICIAN.
1. A dedicated 15-ampere circuit, with
105 to 125 volts, RMS 60 Hz AC
(220V, 50Hz where applicable).
–The Double Eagle is designed to operate in a range of 105 to 125 volts
(220V where applicable) of consistent power. One dedicated 15-ampere
circuit should be available to sustain the simulator's peak draw.
2. Use No. 12-2 or No. 10-2 grounded
Romex™ wire. –Always follow local electrical codes, however, No. 12-2 or No. 10-2
size, grounded, Romex™ wire should be used between the circuit
breaker and the electrical boxes.
3. Use a transformer, where voltage is
higher, or power is not stable. –If a dependable power source is not available, a constant-voltage
harmonic-neutralized transformer must be used to power the entire
system. Though not required where a stable source of power exists,
such a transformer, supplying a constant 110 volts (220 V where
applicable) of power will greatly extend the life of lamps in the unit.
4. Component Wattage –Control Console 0.5 Amp ( 50W @120V)
Optisense™ 10.4 Amp (1,250W @120V)
Video Projector 2.0 Amp ( 250 W @120V)
TOTAL 12.9 Amp (1550 W @120V)
LOCATION OF ELECTRICAL SWITCHES AND OUTLETS
IMPORTANT: Place a power switch near the control console. This switch will be used daily as you
start and stop play on the simulator. It is recommended that power to the Optisense and to the control
console be controlled by this switch. Also install a separate switch for the projector (the location is at
your discretion). Always shut the projector off according to the procedure outlined in the projector’s
manual. Failure to do so will result in premature failure of the lamp assembly.
During the platform construction phase of the installation, three electrical outlet boxes and power switches should
be installed by your electrician as indicated in Drawing 2B. Also see Drawing 2B Wiring Detail in this section
for recommendations on the location of the power switches and the outlet boxes.

Chapter 4PUTTING CARPET INSTALLATION
In this chapter we outline the manufacturer's recommended procedures for attaching the putting carpet to your
newly constructed platform. It is recommended that a skilled carpet layer install the putting carpet.
THE CARPET SHOULD BE IN PLACE PRIOR TO ERECTING THE FRAME OR INSTALLING ANY
OF THE ELECTRONIC COMPONENTS.
CARPET INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
It is recommended that a skilled carpet layer install the putting carpet.
Ideal temperature for installation is from 55º F to 95º F with relative humidity between 10% and 65%.
Putting carpet should be installed with seams as shown in Figure 6.
STEP 1 Clean the platform –The plywood surface must be thoroughly cleaned which should include
sweeping and vacuuming, to insure that it is completely free of all dirt,
paint, grease, oils or contaminants which will prevent good adhesion.
STEP 2 Place and unroll carpet –Unroll the carpet, beginning at the screen-end of the putting platform.
Allow unrolled carpet one
hour to relax –The carpet should be allowed to lay unrolled and to relax, for at least one
hour before installation.
STEP 3 Cut and splice turf to fit
platform –The turf should be installed with the seams on the right side of the
platform facing the screen.
Figure 6
STEP 4
Apply Adhesive to half of
platform –You should need approximately 5 gallons of a standard carpet adhesive
to attach putting carpet to the platform.
–Using a 1/8” x 1/8” (3 x 3 mm) V-notched trowel, spread the adhesive to
one-half of the platform.
REMINDER: The adhesive should be non-flammable and compatible with carpet backing.
STEP 5 Use contact method for
carpet lay-in –Contact method of lay-in suggests that the turf is: (i) laid directly into the
wet adhesive immediately after the adhesive has been applied; (ii) then
flattened out using any flat object such as an industrial broom; (iii) then
pulled back out of the adhesive bed and allowed to air dry with both
adhesive surfaces exposed to the air for at least 5 minutes; and finally
(iv) re-laid onto the tacky adhesive.

PAR T GOLF DOUBLE EAGLE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE MANUAL
B13 SECTION B THE PLATFORM
Attach carpet to half of the
platform –This method is used to assure that the carpet backing surface is covered
completely with at least fifty percent of the applied adhesive, resulting in
fewer installation bubbles or problems due to the adhesive. Bond
strength between carpet, adhesive and platform develops much faster
using the contact method.
STEP 6 Repeat steps 4 and 5 for
the other half of platform. –Follow the procedure outlined in Steps 4 and 5 above to lay the turf on
the remaining portion of the platform.
STEP 7 Roll the carpet –Once the carpet has been properly joined to the platform, the entire area
should be rolled using a 35 pound roller. Roll carpet in both E-W and
N-S directions to assure proper bond.
PLACING THE PAR T TRI-TURF™
STEP 8 Set Tri-Turf into place
Figure 6
–
_
Locate the plywood pieces removed for the Tri-Turf cut out and
place them in the hole, on the floor.
Set the Tri-Turf into place, on top of plywood scraps (above).
NOTE: In the event a bubble should develop, DO NOT cut or slit open the raised area. Most bubbles are
caused from solvents left in the adhesive and trapped under the turf during lay-in. The best way to remove
them is to puncture the bubble with an awl, ice pick or hypodermic syringe and press the trapped solvent
gas vapors out by pressing and squeezing the area with both hands. Allow the turf to lay back into the
adhesive and either sand bag or re-roll the area to develop maximum bond strength.
If for some reason the bubble does not re-bond adequately, the hypodermic syringe can be used with a
small quantity of seam sealer to re-bond the turf to the platform. After the sealer has been injected into
the bubble, spread the sealer by hand rubbing and then allow it to air dry for 5 to 10 minutes before
rolling.
