Pegasus Pneumatic Operating instructions

Pegasus Pneumac User & Installaon Instrucons
User Instrucons:
Whirlpool - Push the on/o buon once
to acvate the whirlpool and again to
deacvate (pictured above).
Air Control - Whilst the whirlpool is running
you can turn the air control to increase the
air ow to the jets - the more air the greater
the pressure.
Turbo Whirlpool - If you have a turbo
whirlpool the air control will be replaced
by a second on/o buon. Push this buon
whilst the whirlpool is in operaon to
acvate the ‘turbo boost’.
Hydro Whirplool - Hydro systems are
controlled by 2 on/o buons and a diverter
valve (pictured above). Air from the blower
can be directed to the whirlpool system using
the diverter valve giving a ‘turbo-boosted’
massage.
Push the on/o buons once to acvate
each feature and again to deacvate them.
Once both the whirlpool and the airpool are
in operaon the diverter valve can be turned
to chose between 3 massage opons; turbo
whirlpool only, spa only or both at the same
me.
System Blow Dry - This feature is only
available on turbo and hydro systems.
Once you have emped your whirlpool bath
acvate the blower for a couple of minutes
to dry the pipework.
Cleansing - For cleansing of your whirlpool
system we recommend regular use of our
whirlbath cleanser and saniser tablets.
Installaon Instrucons:
IMPORTANT - Do not use a knife to remove
the wrapping. This bath has been factory
ed with a quality whirlpool system. Once
ed the whole system has then been water
& electrically tested, quality inspected and
then wrapped to ensure that it arrives with
you in perfect working order.
It is the responsibility of the contractor/
purchaser to ensure that this bath is installed
only by a qualied Plumber & a qualied
Electrician. All electrical connecons
must comply with the current edion of
I.E.E. Regulaons. Aer connecon the
appropriate compleon cercate must be
presented to the end user in accordance
with I.E.E. Regulaons.
WARNING - If damage is caused to the
system due to mishandling or incorrect
installaon, Pegasus Whirlpool Baths (UK)
Ltd reserve the right to charge for any repair
work needed! Our Callout charge is £75.00
plus VAT and will be charged to the customer
for all callouts whether the fault lies with the
customer or the installers.
Apology to installers - This whirlpool
system has been ed to this bath so as to
allow as litle water as possible to remain in
the pipework aer use. With some baths
(especially corner baths) our best t policy
can occasionally mean a pump posion or
awkwardly placed pipework which will make
life dicult for the installer and increase the
normal installaon me. Our policy on water
retenon is, that is is beer for the installer
to “suer” for a couple of hours, than for the
end-user to suer for years - If you are one of
the few installers to “suer”, please accept
our apologies.
The quality of this nished product is now
in your hands. If you would like to discuss
the opons available, please ring us on our
Duty Technical Support Engineer on
01633 244555.
Plumbers Instrucons:
xDO NOT li or manoeuvre the bath by the
whirlpool pipework.
xDO NOT remove the protecve tape from
the controls on the rim of the bath unl all
plastering and groung has been completed.
Grout dust has been known to cement the
air control solid.
x DO NOT remove any electrical es on the
pipework - they are there for a purpose. Ties
that have not had their ends clipped can be
removed.
x DO NOT allow the electrician to install the
E.L.C.B. under the bath - it makes it awkward
for future access.
x DO NOT allow anyone to dry run the
pump. i.e. do not run the pump without
water in the system. Water acts as a coolant
for the pump impellor and casing without
which costly damage will occur.
● ACCESS must be provided to the pump,
control box and waste.
● Assemble the bath legs etc as per the
manufacturers instrucons taking care if
the bath has to be turned upside down.
Occasionally we will temporarily t the
legs to the bath when ng the whirlpool
system. If the legs are subsequently le on
the bath it is sll the plumbers responsibility
to check that all screws and brackets are in
place and secure.

Pegasus Pneumac User & Installaon Instrucons
● Fit the pump bracket support leg and
adjust to correct height.
● Adjust feet to the required height for the
bath panel and slide the bath into posion.
● Set the bath level and pret the bath
into the desired posion. Check that the
pump is within the connes of the bath. If
the pump exceeds the connes of the bath
it will be necessary to chase out the wall
to accommodate the pump. This should be
done before the bath is nally ed.
● Ensure that all hot water pipes are clear
of the whirlpool pipework - If necessary
remove bath and re-make the hot water
pipes keeping the blow torch away from t h e
bath and whirlpool pipework.
● When the bath is level in the required
posion, and before nal xing takes
place, temporarily connect the waste and
water feeds, ll the bath with warm water
to the level of the overow and operate
the whirlpool system under pressure for
a period of 20 minutes. During this me
all joints should be checked to ensure that
they have not been damged or weakened in
transit. Leave the bath standing with water
in it for a further 20 minutes and recheck the
joints. Carry out procedures detailed in the
commissioning checklist opposite.
● Please note that we will not accept
responsibility for removing the bath to
repair any leaks which are discovered aer
the bath has been nally xed and led in
place.
● The bath is now ready for an electrician to
make the nal electrical connecon.
Electricians Instrucons:
● The whirlpool system must be protected.
In most circumstances the system may be
connected into the 13 amp ring main, it does
not need a separate supply from the main
board. This connecon should be made via
a 13 amp fused spur, located outside of the
bathroom.
● It is not adviseable to locate the E.L.C.B./
R.C.C.B/ under the bath, it is awkward for
access at a later date.
● DO NOT remove the protecve tape from
the controls on the rim of the bath unl all
plastering and groung has been completed.
Grout dust has been known to cement the
air control solid.
● DO NOT remove any electrical es on
the whirlpool pipework - they are there for
a purpose. If you wish to relocate any of
the electrical boxes for ease of access aer
installaon please make sure that wires are
not stretched.
● DO NOT allow anyone to dry run the pump.
i.e.do not run the pump without water in the
system. Water acts as a coolant for the pump
impellor and casing without which costly
damage will occur.
● If it is necessary to remove the pump
from the bath ensure that when it is
reinstalled that the rubber seals are in place.
● The pump and controls have been prewired
for ease of installaon - please double check
that all connecons have travelled well and
are to your sasfacon.
● Connect the unassigned mains cable
from the control box through the E.L.C.B. to
the 13A fused spur.
● Connect the earth bonding as required by
I.E.E. Regulaons.
● In the absence of a plumber it is advisable
that the electrician carries out the inial
commissioning procedures - see below.
● The electrical installaon should now
be inspected in accordance with the
latest edion of I.E.E. regulaons and the
Compleon Cercate signed and handed to
the customer.

Commissioning Checklist &
Fault Finding:
1 - Fill the bath with water to a level of 2’’
above the level of the jets check the system
for leaks, please pay parcular aenon to
the pump unions.
2 - Demonstrate the operaon of the
whirlpool to the customer.
3 - Show the customer how to carry out the
monthly test of the R.C.D.
4 - If the bathroom is to be led aer
installaon please place protecve
wrapping back over the controls to prevent
contaminaon with grout dust.
5 - Hand these instrucons, the electrical
compleon cercate and the system
guarantee to the customer.
6 - Explain how the whole system can be
isolated by means of the fused spur.
Symptom - Press on/o buon - nothing
happens.
Soluon - Check water is above the water
level sensor and that the light is showing on
the water level sensor. (Check power supply
is geng to control box). Check operaon of
the ELCB (if ed) if the ELCB fails to test then
the problem is at the fuse in the fused spur.
If power supply is geng to Control box then
check connecons to pump and ancillarys
are intact and have not been stressed.
Bath Waste:
Only a Pegasus whirlpool waste can be ed
to this bath. An upgrade bath ll waste can
be purchased at a small extra cost (pictured
above).
